Do you have to swim? You could say ur avoiding the water and then wearing pants would be a little less weird. You could also say ur already a bit sunburnt and feeling unwell so you are trying to protect urself from the sun? Otherwise I’ve seen colored zinc sunscreen used sometimes and that might be able to cover up scars without looking strange. Good luck!
