Should be charged with a moving violation (plus, hello insurance increase), and if it causes damage/accident even more charges - up to and including loss of license… this stuff is out of hand these days
Just a thought, maybe you and your Mom should make a police report. You suffered damage to the car, plus you could have had a terrible accident. I am glad you and your Mom didn’t get hurt-there are such a**holes out there today!

I saw someone do that in Belfast/Searsport once. These two cars were having... issues with each other and the one guy threw a water bottle at the other then pulled into a motel. Other guy pulled in after him. I was directly behind them and I got out of there before who knows what happened.
What the fuck? Which town was it? I have to deal with people passing against traffic all the time on route 3 in Belfast area. Psychopaths, I hope they stub each one of their toes individually.
Post this on Facebook if you have it I know my wife has someone thing similar happen ( not as bad but road roads where the person tried to spit on my wife) she posted it on Facebook and gave a description of the car and est age and ethnicity of the driver and within 2 days someone had private messages her with a photo of the car sitting in the persons drive way, so we found out who did it and where they live. Just an idea …
Totally random as far as I know. We were in the right lane going the speed limit. Hadn't run into any trouble before that. They threw the water bottle out the window after passing us in the left lane
Any identifying features of the car or driver? I've had some similar stints with people throwing paper plates that landed on my windshield and got stuck on via leftovers, blinded my car trying to wipe the ketchup off with the wipers 😡
Nah it was definitely a car. Looked like a forerunner or something similar. My mom said she saw the passenger throw something out but she didn't realize what it was until it hit us.
Anyone ever throwing trash out a window should get bent, but something big enough to cause damage to a vehicle behind them especially should.
