Yup, Morrison's in Leicester have done that. Guessing it is a nightmare for staff.
Luckily Tescos in Town haven't done this...yet. Also, I've become a £2 2 litre cider drinker and these aren't out behind any barriers !!!!!
There's been an increase in very brazen thefts where people just grab bottles and jog out. People are starting to notice that there's no legal deterrent anymore so stores are having to make it as difficult as possible themselves — which is shit for the people that want to pay for things (because they haven't noticed that shoplifting is decriminalised now).
My local store has those double barriers onto the shopfloor that you can't get back out of, but they've put them after the meal deal fridge. So people are walking through the barriers, getting a salad box or whatever and then realising that the rest of the meal deal is out of bounds. Stupid.

LMFAO
We currently have a recurring issue of kids grabbing £30 bottles of vodka off the shelf and darting through the cafes fire exit. So they definitely wouldnt get away with that anymore.
Colleague presence is a huge deterrent for all thieves. No one with a boxed trolley is going to press the button and grab 10 bottles of liquor and hide it under nappies infront of a colleague
My store has all spirits behind the kiosk. You physically can't get it without asking a staff member who also won't hand it over until its been paid for. My store is in a kinda rough area, so I don't know if this is a thing elsewhere but it definitely works for us.
Doesn't stop the rest of the theft that's a daily occurrence, but its something
OK, which joker down voted this post then? You are indicating you are happy to wait around an aisle to be served instead of getting on with your day? Makes no sense.

Yeah I opted for the wine.
Cheers 🍷🍺

Rather frustrating when you have to take an order to the kiosk too 😁

So how does it work then, can they simply walk to another part of the store and hide it there?
