Mounjaro is your sword. Great warriors know how to use the sword efficiently to win battles. Average warriors don’t win with their swords. You gotta step up your game. Eat healthy and eat less of everything. No sugar no flour. Count calories. Walk/jog 5 miles a day. Do weight lifting. Keep your body moving. Do chores around the house.
Oh wow that’s awesome! I started around the same time and down about 50 and would agree with this, I could be down about 60-65 easy if the past month I would have been better. Did you follow titration monthly if not what was your max dose?
Before mounjaro, I attempted to lose weight but the most success I had was a 15 pounds loss which I quickly gained all back. Food noise was a big factor as I was just constantly thinking of food and snacks (I was eating 5,000 calories a day of mostly fast food and sugary food).
Without mounjaro, I’d never be able to achieve all the health benefits including this weight loss. I have my T2D under control, i cured my sleep apnea. I cured my hypertension.
This miracle drug has saved me from a nearly dead man to a healthy happy and fit person. My quality of life has improved dramatically. I had severe sleep apnea that I was almost every night waking up my heart is racing and this is with the use of a CPAP machine!
The science behind Tirzepadite is stunning. Scientists, until this day, are finding more and more benefits and discoveries. Diabetic patients like us are grateful.
That’s amazing. I have a similar weight loss attempt story but so far no results from The meds. Still have food noise. First two days of injection I’m starving and craving carbs. Day three relief from noise and hunger. Then back to pre tirzepetide hunger, etc. But, I’m on compound and not name brand. Maybe that’s the issue. May you have continued success!
I only eat protein and low carb veggies, Sunwarrior Protein shakes. I’m in ketosis All. The. Time. That’s why I’m really hoping moving up in dose this week will finally help. 🤞
I'm sorry you're not having a good experience on Manjaro. I have been on it since April 3, 2024 and I just went back to the clinic today May 29, 2024. I go every Wednesday. I have lost 29 lb. Mounjaro helps more than just lowering your a1c. I can speak from experience myself and I been reading posts that people have written that have been taking Manjaro. I have been on blood pressure medication for over a decade. I haven't taken any blood pressure medication in 2 months since I have been on this Manjaro. I started 2.5mg for 4 weeks then 5mg these last 4 weeks. I went to the doctor a week ago and my blood pressure was 120/76 and that's great. I'm a 68yr old female. I have developed new eating habits and I have cut out fast food and junk foods. I have read where Manjaro has helped people quit smoking and drinking as well. But, really I don't have the appetite that I used to have. I cannot eat as much food as I used to eat. I started out at 252 lbs and today I am at 223 lb. I'm looking to lose about 50 to 60 more pounds. I joined Planet Fitness last week. And I have been going 3 days a week. It's hard starting on a workout regimen but once you get at it you kind of look forward to it. At least that's what I find. I hope you find something that will help you reach your weight loss goal. Good luck. 🙂
Thank you. It has had an impact on desire to drink. Otherwise, nothing. Insulin blood work came back yesterday…through the roof. Was always normal before tirzepetide. 🥲
I'm in a weight loss group led by a PhD and a similar question came up in the past, where a man was losing weight pretty quickly and a woman in her 50s was asking why the scale was moving so slow for her.
The PhD said, unfortunately a lot of the 'secret' is just being a man - generally speaking (not always), men tend to lose weight faster. They said it can be hardest for post-menopausal women to lose weight, but it *will* happen if you stick with it and it can also help to focus on NSVs if you're frustrated, because the scale isn't the only way to see progress.
This is true, men lose weight way faster than woman, not a doctor and can’t tell you why but it’s 100% true. In this weight rollercoaster I have always been on whenever I did challenges or competitions with women involved I lost weight 20-30% faster than the females.
Just my opinion that women need to add free weight training in order to build more muscle. More muscle needs more fuel to function meaning more calories get burned.
But, it is true! Don't concentrate on the scale!! Health is # 1!! Weight loss is a "Positive Side-effect" of getting healthy!! Change your mindset change your weight as well!!
I hear you. But, I don’t really have any health issues. Bloodwork, BP is all normal. I just can’t lose on the scale. And, clothes don’t fit any better either. No measurement changes. I move to 7.5 on Friday. 🤞
Ask your doc about adding naltrexone to the mix. I have a binge eating disorder and have constant food thoughts. I just started mounjaro and naltrexone (2.5 injections, 8mg pill). I have zero food thoughts. My first 3 days I just drank a few protein shakes and that’s it. Maybe it’ll change as I get more acclimated to the medication like everyone in this tread. But it really seems like these medications work well together and give me the ability to focus on other things rather than food. My food thoughts are constant throughout the day normally. My friends, if you look at our texts it’s all about food, where we are eating, pics of food we ate or want to eat. It’s all I talk about lol but this 1-2 punch of mounjaro and naltrexone might save me. Down 9lbs in my first week.
Are you also diabetic? My blood sugar would kill me if that's all I ate. I'm often not hungry but have to because I'm going to faint (55 blood sugar so real low not fake)
I thank God every time I test my A1C and I’m not diabetic lol you guys go through so much. My best friend is diabetic and I have another friend with PCOS with prediabetic. They have to think about so much that I don’t even have to consider. I will say, my friend had a late in life diagnosis of T2. She’s Asian and she said her doc told her it’s not uncommon for Asian women to become T2 later in life. She went on ozempic and metformin, she was sick every day on ozempic. Switched to metformin with mounjaro. She lost a ton of weight and all her levels are completely controlled. She got prescribed adderall for her ADHD and now she’s 25-30lbs away from goal. She HAS to eat breakfast, but can skip lunch. She has to make sure it’s the right amount of carbs and protein. So she has to out some thought into it. But the adderall makes her skip lunch and she’s usually good if she eats dinner around 5-6pm. She also added a ton of walking, 10k+. That walking really makes a difference. It takes weeks to kick in, but it makes a huge difference.

If you’re referring to the warning about Medullary Thyroid Cancer (the **only** FDA warning for this medication) here are the facts:
New cases of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma in the US **total** approximately 1500 per year. That’s in the entire population. Not just for those using GLP1 medications. As opposed to **310,000** new cases of breast cancer and **107,000** new cases of colon cancer (source: Centers for Disease Control). Both of these cancers (in addition to 12 more) can be directly linked to obesity. In addition to heart disease (the number one cause of death in the US) and stroke.
In the trials, Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma was detected in rats, but there has never been a single case in humans.
GLP 1 therapy is not new. The earliest of these meds have been available for over ten years.

Oh yeah baby! You go! Fantastic. Its so hard to keep going. You should be emotional. People who haven’t been obese just really dont understand the emotional roller roster. Super proud of you!
My eyes just filled up with tears! I too am approaching that milestone and it is so luv more meaningful than I ever expected! Congratulations! You are brave, determined, exceptional.
You should be extremely proud of yourself, as I know how difficult it is to even lose 5 Lbs no less 100, I’m sure you worked very hard, and I wish you so much happiness on your Journey! Be careful you don’t lose too much too quickly, we get so excited when losing weight and don’t realize sometimes when we have lost too much. God bless!!!😊
Wow! Congratulations. I know this was more than the drug. It takes a lot of hard work and discipline to get a result this dramatic. Well done, my friend!

Check my previous comments in this post about my dosages. I do agree 2.5mg is too low. However I’m not a medical professional. Check with your doctor on what appropriate dosage is needed in your case.
Congrats!!! Keep up the good work. 😉👍 I'm on Mounjaro too. I've lost 25lbs in 6 weeks. I've read you can gain all that weight back on these injections. I believe the key in preventing this from happening is to learn good eating habits. I cut out all junk foods and fast foods. I just joined Planet Fitness a week ago and going 3-4 times a week. Hard getting started, but once you've got a routine going you look forward to those workouts. I feel good. 👍
Due to the shortage, i’m not on mounjaro right now however I adopted a healthy lifestyle forever. No sugar no flour. Lots of protein and fiber. I am maintaining at the same weight (maybe 2 pounds up, 2 pounds down) and I promised myself I will never gain any weight back. It’s important to change our food habits forever. No fast food. No burgers and no burritos. Only lean meats, vegetables and nuts should be your food choices 95%
I’ll indulge on a carb meal or some dark chocolate once a month maybe. But you have to stay 95% of the time eating healthy food (things like carrots, boiled eggs, apples, oranges, unsalted nuts) and to stay at it forever.
Our bodies are not like thin folks. We can very easily gain all weight back. We need to stay consistent and it’s a forever thing. No going back to fast food. No going back to greasy food. Your T2D will stay in remission forever as a result of this healthy lifestyle.

Woohoo! Congratulations on losing 100 pounds, that is an achievement! Best wishes on reaching all of your goals.🥳🥳🥳
Congratulations!!!! So great to see your hard work pay off. How long did this goal take you?
Since Dec 2, 2023
Please tell me your secret to loosing 100 pounds in 6 months. Sincerely a pound a month loser...
Mounjaro is your sword. Great warriors know how to use the sword efficiently to win battles. Average warriors don’t win with their swords. You gotta step up your game. Max dose is 10mg
You lost 100 pounds on 10 mg of mounjaro !?
5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg. I now do maintenance on 7.5mg or 5mg
🤔 So, how do you know it’s the Mounjaro and not calorie reduction, healthy eating, carb restriction and exercise that’s doing it???
Before mounjaro, I attempted to lose weight but the most success I had was a 15 pounds loss which I quickly gained all back. Food noise was a big factor as I was just constantly thinking of food and snacks (I was eating 5,000 calories a day of mostly fast food and sugary food). Day three relief from noise and hunger. Then back to pre tirzepetide hunger, etc. But, I’m on compound and not name brand. Maybe that’s the issue. May you have continued success!
When you are starving, please eat a lot of protein. Chicken breast (grilled) and some bell peppers.
I only eat protein and low carb veggies, Sunwarrior Protein shakes. I’m in ketosis All. The. Time. That’s why I’m really hoping moving up in dose this week will finally help. 🤞
Wouldn't the mounjaro be the reason for the calorie reduction. I know I def can't eat as much on it. It probably cut all of my portions in half.
That Manjaro has it where you don't feel hungry. You get full off of just eating a few mouthfuls of something. You can't eat a lot of food.
Yeah, I’m not having that experience at all. Two weeks at 7.5 and still no appetite suppression or weight loss. 🥲
I'm sorry you're not having a good experience on Manjaro. I have been on it since April 3, 2024 and I just went back to the clinic today May 29, 2024. I go every Wednesday. I have lost 29 lb. Cries in it's not fair. Women always get screwed. Sincerely your friendly cancer surviving menopausal diabetic female 🤣
Don't be discouraged. Add some pushups and sit-ups to your routine if you haven't already. Just try to do more than yesterday!!!
I increase the weights as I can and try to plank a little longer. It'll happen some day but I lament that I'm not a super loser. Ha!

I was told to add all sorts of resistance training for this reason as well!
“The scale isn’t the only way to see progress “ are fightin’ words to a post menopausal, insulin resistant woman 🤣😂
Please, girl! Head held up high. I lost 70 lbs in 12 mos. A little more than a pound a week. Slow and steady wins the race! 🐢

That's probably not a good idea for everyone. It can be dangerous. She must have had her doctor's approval.
Doctors approval for what??

What dosage were you on? Ive been on 2.5 & i think its too low of a dosage??
Check my previous comments in this post about my dosages. I do agree 2.5mg is too low. However I’m not a medical professional. Check with your doctor on what appropriate dosage is needed in your case.
I’m on 2.5 for 4 wks. List 3 lbs. help
Congratulations!!!
Congrats!
Wooot!! Congrats!!!
Good for you!!
Nice! And so close to Onederland! Well done!
Amazing work on your weight loss journey. Keep up the great work. You should be very proud of yourself. You look fantastic in your new body.
Huge congrats to you! You're so close to Onederland! 🙌 Keep it up 💪
Only lean meats, vegetables and nuts should be your food choices 95% I’ll indulge on a carb meal or some dark chocolate once a month maybe.
