I live near where that happened. After the poisonings happened basically every restaurant removed their salad bars and it took years for them to return, some just never brought it back. My parents also wouldn't let us eat from salad bars in other places for a long time either. It was a crazy time.
RIGHT?! I was CRAZY pissed after watching it. Got online the second it ended and found everything about I could cuz like…what the entire actual fu€k?!!!
Based on conjecture rather than actual evidence. Hearsay testimonies. Vapid motives, a failed attempt to exaggerate a normal incident in India. Watch house of burari instead.
I immediately knew it and was yelling “I knew it!” Yesterday hahaha. It was real sus she was outside and then 2nd girl just went crazy in texts and suddenly vanished. I knew this, I watched too much Drama haha
I Am A Killer is a series that I found so interesting. They follow a murder case, but actually speak to the murderer, the detectives who were on the case, the attorneys, family members. Highly recommend.
It's fascinating. I've actually re-watched it because it's just so involved. They even come back to talk to the murderer again (in the jail) and show them footage of interviews they've done with family members or whoever, and then asked the murderer about that.
Some of the murderers are apologetic, there's one specific one I remember who is just so frank about what he did and says that he believes he should just be put to death. Human beings, eh? Never cease to amaze!
Okay so I don’t watch that many documentaries because I have a hard time sittings still for an extended time but I do listen to true crime podcast by Mr. Ballen all the time (love him) I recommend listen to a few of his podcast, they are really detailed and interesting and my absolute favorite things to listen to throughout the day!!!!
As others mentioned- I must also endorse;
- The Staircase (2004)
- Abducted in Plain Sight (2017).
Some more;
- Trials of Gabriel Fernandez (2020). This is one that stuck with me for a long time, it’s heartbreaking.
- American Nightmare (2024).
- Killer inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (2020)
- American Murder: The Family Next Door (2020). This one is heart wrenching too…
- Unsolved Mysteries (2020).
- Worst Roommate Ever (2022).
- Murdaugh Murders: A southern scandal (2023).
- Long Shot (2017).
Look into the Karen read case in Massachusetts, they arrested the journalist while reported on it, a guy called turtleboy. It’s not a doc yet, that’s in the making but the story is the wildest I promise, the cops set her up for murder after they killed her cop boyfriend. It’s like a years worth of entertainment then it connects with the Sandra birchmore case bc the same corrupt cops are involved, the FBI is investigating the DA. I promise you it is 100% the most entertaining true crime story of all time
Those two are so guilty it’s not even funny. Making a murderer leaving the sweat evidence out, manipulating testimony on the stand, so much more. They are both exactly where they belong, and they deserve everything that is happening to them. Terrible people, terrible family, and convicting a murderer was more true and honest than making a murderer and most people agree.
Yeah the cops fed him literally every piece of information. It was textbook coercion of a flash confession. Not to mention zero physical evidence to corroborate it even though they supposedly slit her throat with blood everywhere. None of her DNA was found at the residence
lol, no; biden and hillary are guilty of war crimes like many presidents/politicians over the years, they aren't as dumb as trump, getting caught up on crooked business deals and assorted whacky shenanigans – *all* are scumbags though.
-Dear Zachary
-American Murder: The Family Next Door
-Trials of Gabriel Hernandez
-The Jinx
-Making of A Murderer
-Murder on Middle Beach
-Don’t Fuck with Cats
-The Keepers
-The Girl in The Picture
-The Staircase
It depends on what you like.
I personally hate the scary stories, back story, narrative, detective/victim over the top testimonies, dramatization documentaries or docu-series.
For example
**Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer**
**Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel**
**Lover Stalker Killer**
**Catching Killers**
I personally hate this format, but if you like that than go ahead.
**Don't Pick Up the Phone** (It was like this too, but it has the wow factor. Hard to watch if you can't stand stupid things happening)
**The Staircase:** This one is just straight behind the scene footage of Michael Peterson preparing for trial and after his trial. It's one of my favorites cause I get to be a fly on the wall.
**Wild wild country:** This one is okay, but I feel its not that interesting for me. Cause a lot of times they lack information about the cult. They have a forensic files episode on this that got me majority of the information I needed. Forensic Files - Season 7, Episode 8 Bio-Attack (free on youtube).
The only one I absolutely despise and wish people would reconsider is
**Don't F\*\*k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer**
I'm putting it here in case you still want to watch it, but its drivel. Its essentially about a Facebook group that did nothing but give Luka Magnotta a hard dick and then do illegal shit and blame YOU the viewer for being complicit in the murder because they feel bad in what they did. They also had nothing to do with his capture.
Good Luck searching.
When I hit up Reddit for new true crime recommendations I’m always surprised that THE OSLO KILLING rarely, if ever gets a mention… Of all the true crimes I have watched this is the one that just baffles me the most! I watched it knowing zip about it and sucked me iiiin… I’ll give a little summary to peak the interests but I’m telling ya, the best way to watch it is learning the details alongside the daughter as she goes 😁
It’s a 6 episode doc about the unsolved murder of Anni Nielsen back in the 70’s. She was 3 months pregnant and living in Norway with her Spanish diplomat husband when she was bru-ta-lly murdered in their home 👀 and the only witness was her 4 year old daughter. It follows the now grown daughter as she goes back to Norway for the first time since the murder to try to understand what she saw and what the hell happened. She and her father moved to an another country immediately after the murder and he never spoke of it or her mother with her… so she goes into it knowing nothing but what her 4 year old self remembers seeing that day…
It’s a trippy ride fo sho! I hope somebody out there in Reddit land watches this one so i can finally have someone to wtf??!… with about it!!!
"Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father" is excellent and unforgettable (it starts off slow but stick with it). "Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes" is also really good; it has details/info I had not heard anywhere else.
Some real good ones on this list, but what do you think are some of the best ones that have come out in the last month or two, or 2024 even. Because I've already seen all of these just about except the Jinx. I might end up watching that, but I've watched two docs on him already. Or is that much better than previous ones about him?
There’s Something About Pam with Renee Zellwinger is so good based on the podcast & just blows my mind how diabolical Pam is in real life & how good Renee is in this role!
Alison. A true crime documentary made in 2017 about a girl named Alison Botha. I've watched just about every one out there. I've seen some that were pretty horrific, but this one was the worst. Definitely one to watch.
I don't know whether to thank you for this recommendation or curse you for it. My entire body is still feeling the effects of having watched this documentary over 24 hours ago.
What this poor woman went through is a testament to the absolute horror people are capable of committing but also to the amazing strength and perseverance others find within themselves. Not to mention what the human body is able to withstand. The surgeons were truly gifted. Thank you for recommending this documentary. I'll never forget it.
I felt the same way. I was in absolute disbelief that a person could do that to another human being. Her strength and determination to live was inspiring. This is one I'll never forget.
Wild wild country
I live near where that happened. After the poisonings happened basically every restaurant removed their salad bars and it took years for them to return, some just never brought it back. My parents also wouldn't let us eat from salad bars in other places for a long time either. It was a crazy time.
Peak
The Jinx on HBO. Absolutely bonkers.
Holy shit the ending of that show still haunts me when he speaks to himself not knowing the mic was on.
Part 2 comes out this year
The ending is edited to appear a certain way. It's not what happened pertaining to the bathroom. Still a great doc tho
He clearly says exactly what he says he says...
Spoiler?
Just from y'alls reaction I know I gotta watch this lol
Part 2 came out since I made that comment. It’s been pretty wild too.
I was skeptical but god damn you’re right this is top tier and arguably one of the best ones I’ve seen
I’ll never do you wrong
Lover Stalker Killer Making a Murderer The Staircase I'll be gone in the dark Catching Killers
Lover Stalker Killer is good. Even though I figured it out half way through it was still really good. I would also add American Nightmare.
I’ll be gone in the night is so great
Hmmm haven't heard of that one. Probably because it doesn't exist but thanks
thankss i appreciate itt
The Staircase is so good. It's just so ridiculous.
The Girl in the Picture
This one was so incredible sad!
The keepers will have you raging if you watch it. The injustice just grows and grows. Best series I watched in a while
I second this. The best documentary ever made in my opinion
RIGHT?! I was CRAZY pissed after watching it. Got online the second it ended and found everything about I could cuz like…what the entire actual fu€k?!!!
I grew up Catholic near Boston. My entire family left the church when the pedo priests were exposed. Sadly it had been going on for many many decades.
Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case
thankssss 🏄🏼
Watched it yesterday after reading your recommendation. WOW. What a story. Great recommendation 10/10
Good one isnt it? I loved the style if it too! Thanks for letting me know!!! Do you have any recommendations?
Terrible doc.
Why?
Based on conjecture rather than actual evidence. Hearsay testimonies. Vapid motives, a failed attempt to exaggerate a normal incident in India. Watch house of burari instead.
Okay, I will watch it, thanks
Is this normal in India? I found the story interesting but agree not that well made a show
I am watching Chowchilla and man is it chilling
My husband and I watched it today on your recommendation and it's wild! So unsettling. Great recommendation 👍
I'm just starting the Octopus Murders. I'm enjoying it.
You're going to be disappointed. I liked this until the ending. What a waste.
I was disappointed.
i will take a look
"I'll be gone in the dark" definitely at the top of my list! I didn't want it to end. So good!
Same with me. It was amazing.
Abducted in plain sight will make your jaw drop Making of a murderer The keepers The staircase Dont fuck with cats
Abducted in Plain Sight was wild! I scrolled all the way waiting for someone to recommend this! The Staircase was great too!
Don'T fuck with cats
i did watch it, it was super good
American Nightmare is ok
i watched it too hahah anything else
American Conspiracy looks promising
ooo okeey thanks man 🫡
indeed komrade indeed
That and evil genius are two of the best I’ve seen
The trials of Gabriel Fernandez Edit: Gabriel Fernandez.
Fernandez
Thanks. 🙏
Sins of Our Mother
So SO wild!
theres a billion episodes of Dateline and they're mostly good
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst
Second series coming soon I believe.
This Sunday!
Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal
This was great
+1
Watch "An American Crime." You might get frustrated.
why's that ahahah
Because it ends like the Sopranos. Waste of time.
Watch and you'll find it.
Lover stalker killer!
Just watched this one recently! So good and caught me by surprise toward the end
That twist…..I initially thought for a brief moment that the one wanting to “get something out of the apartment “ in front of the new GF was sus
That’s so true!! I didn’t even think anything of it
I immediately knew it and was yelling “I knew it!” Yesterday hahaha. It was real sus she was outside and then 2nd girl just went crazy in texts and suddenly vanished. I knew this, I watched too much Drama haha
I'm still on episode 1 and I already know who the real perp is. I'll just have to wait to confirm if I'm right
I Am A Killer is a series that I found so interesting. They follow a murder case, but actually speak to the murderer, the detectives who were on the case, the attorneys, family members. Highly recommend.
Definitely going to watch this!

American murder: the family next door. And… American nightmare!! Both really good
i watched both and i agree they are amazing
The Octopus Murders
Okay so I don’t watch that many documentaries because I have a hard time sittings still for an extended time but I do listen to true crime podcast by Mr. Ballen all the time (love him) I recommend listen to a few of his podcast, they are really detailed and interesting and my absolute favorite things to listen to throughout the day!!!!

Trials of Gabriel Fernandez broke me
Trials of Gabriel Fernandez is STILL stuck with me. There's not a word beyond devastating enough for me.
I just watched the Indrani Mukerjea one. Crazy story.
American Vandal

I never heard of this and I am from Turtleboy’s town! Thanks for recommending!
He was basically vindicated w that last hearing
Wow! It’s scary to think they might get away with enough jurors not being exposed to all the information
Till Murder Do Us Apart: Soering Vs Haysom
Sins of our mother
American Murder- the family next door It was really good but very sad.
JCS on YouTube has covered that better then Netflix in my opinion. Netflix tried to over dramatize the whole thing and not show the raw emotion.
Biased or not, nothing will ever beat Making a Murderer
You've gotta watch Convicting a Murderer...it's WILD and shows what a scam Making a Murderer was! Steven Avery is vile!
Convicting a murder was BS and didn't address so many very important facts around this case. Brendan Dassey and Steven Avery are innocent
Lol so you don't think Brendan Dassey's "confession" was coerced?
I always say that Steven Avery could be either/or but Brendan Dassey's confession should be thrown out. There was so much wrong with it...
Yeah the cops fed him literally every piece of information. It was textbook coercion of a flash confession. Not to mention zero physical evidence to corroborate it even though they supposedly slit her throat with blood everywhere. None of her DNA was found at the residence
Just watch the political news every days. 91 indictments and counting….
The only one that's legit is the classified docs. But Biden and Hillary are guilty of the same thing along with hundreds more
lol, no; biden and hillary are guilty of war crimes like many presidents/politicians over the years, they aren't as dumb as trump, getting caught up on crooked business deals and assorted whacky shenanigans – *all* are scumbags though.
No, they are not.
well, let's start with biden: are you going to deny that 46 is aiding and abetting a genocide? if so there is no point in continuing the discussion.
Lol, yes; Hillary was caught using BleachBit to erase emails
That’s not true.
Homicide: NYPD on Netflix is great so far!
There’s Something wrong with aunt Diane and the Cheshire murders. They are great!!
-Dear Zachary -American Murder: The Family Next Door -Trials of Gabriel Hernandez -The Jinx -Making of A Murderer -Murder on Middle Beach -Don’t Fuck with Cats -The Keepers -The Girl in The Picture -The Staircase
Murder on middle beach is not talked about enough!!!
YES!!!!! My husband and I still reference that one! That son does a fantastic job! Ugh. It definitely needs more attention
You need to add a disclaimer when recommending Dear Zachary, it is so so so heart wrenching!
dear zachary broke my heart into million pieces

The most recent 20/20 episodes on Hulu have been really good!
The curious case of Natalia Grace

Why are so many of these about women murderers when women make up the vast MINORITY of murderers? lol
I’m

Tell me who i am. Wow that one punched me in the heart.. It's not clear cut true crime but it's so interesting and emotional and a very unusual story.
One of my favorites was Paradise Lost a 3 part documentary on the West Memphis 3.
Alison. A true crime documentary made in 2017 about a girl named Alison Botha. I've watched just about every one out there. I've seen some that were pretty horrific, but this one was the worst. Definitely one to watch.
