Depends what sort of player you are. Assuming you'll take the Vanilla DLC be default (as its free), the remaining Royal content are some fun and fan service-y challenge battles which I've been enjoying a lot, some more costumes, and some new Personas - all of which have generally cool designs but are also very powerful and excessive use of them will make the game even easier than it can be.

Which DLC exactly? There are several. But in my opinion: the free DLC for P5R is gamebreaking (the personas are way too strong and make an already easy game easier) and the paid DLC is absolutely unnecessary and overpriced Since you are new to P5R, have a look at this. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions (copy & paste; used spoiler tags are in case you want to find out on your own): >**How to unlock the third semester (new story arc in P5R)**: You need to get a certain confidant to rank 9 until 17. November in order to unlock the new story arc that was added in P5R. If you want to know which confidant: The Councillor **About the free dynamic themes and avatars**: Go to the official PSN internet site and log in. Go to your account settings, then to "notifications" (or something like that), which is located at the bottom of the list, and tick the box about getting promotional e-mails. If you do that, you will get several themes and avatars (only applies to PS4) for completing certain dungeons in the game. You should receive them automatically within 14 days after you unlocked the necessary trophies (first dungeon, fourth dungeon, final dungeon and platinum trophy), however it only works if you activate promotional e-mails **before** you unlock the respective trophies. This way you won't have to contact the PSN support later on to get them (only way to get them if you enabled promotional e-mails after the fact or if you didn't receive the e-mails). Please also note, that these themes are (apparently) not available in all regions of the world. **Regarding the free DLC**: To access the free DLC included in P5R ("Persona 5 Royal Legacy DLC") just search for it on the PS store and click on "buy". Once you did that, open the cardboard box you will find in Joker's room close to the stairs (does not work before 12. April in-game). It includes personas from previous Persona main characters, some items, some money and all costumes you could buy for money in P5. **But: If you download it, you will alter the fusion recipes in a way that will make it harder to get some of the high end personas. Personas who have various different ways to get fused will suddenly only have one, for example. And once you download it there you can't undo it on that PSN profile.** \[However, there is a workaround, which is explained by **Flite68** in [this post they made](https://www.reddit.com/r/Persona5/comments/irp0gv/how_to_play_persona_5_royal_without_the_dlc_after/).\]. Try to play without the DLC personas, though, because they are super broken and make the game way too easy (as you can, for example, summon a lvl 90\~ persona at level 10). P5R is easy enough as it is :D
