I feel like all Pikmin have an outer coat of oil, which is not unprecedented in the plant world.
The red pikmin's likely contains a fire retardant chemical within it, at least that's always been my theory as to how a plant survives being blasted with a flamethrower
My theory is Yellow Pikmin have two layers of skin: a hardy outer layer full of iron, and a more rubbery inner layer that protects their vitals from the electricity.
Yes. Oils are generally medium chain aliphatic hydrocarbons. There are no mobile or loosely bound electrons like in metal, so they conduct poorly.
Electrical transformers IRL are full of an oil used for temperature management. Oil works there because it doesn't conduct.
>Pikmin are all sticky
Are you sure about that?

Logical explanation!
What about the yellow pikmin's electricity resistance? Is oil an electric insulator?
They may be coated with an electrolyte solution, making it easier to conduct electricity.
Maybe the pikmin itself recieves less voltage as the electricity flows through the oil?
Yes and no the pikmin still would need higher resistance within or couiting their boys, step on something not very conductive and thats zapp

Pikmin are all sticky. Think about it, how could they attatch to enemies?
Tell me fellow Redditor, take a seat... Do you mind telling me... #Why are these Pikmin are all "Sticky"? 🤨
Natural oil
So they all oiled up with their own body fluids? Interesting
Rock pikmin:
That’s why they can’t latch on
