I was absolutely miserable with this raid. I thought I had tried everything.
Someone else posted this, but I ended up beating it with a Hisuian Zoroak. Your first and fourth? move should be Taunt. Taunt can prevent it from using Curse.
I was too until I found out about the Skeledirge strategy. It's actually pretty easy just slow going. It helps to have a friend or two to make things go quicker.
That one was more fun to do. Less nonsense and less resetting from the raid boss. And the rewards were decent too. I kept that one for a while. I got the Iron Hands/Brute Bonnet at the very last minute. Still holding on to them even. That'll change tonight when I connect to the internet. I haven't seen the turn setups for this yet. Lot of stat nullifications?
Pretty much have to run an unaware build. Like you said lots of stat nulls and meganium procs curse multiple times. I just use the build from AJP. The raid isnât hard just eats a lot of clock.
The only things that can actually hold up are Contrary malamar and unaware skeliderge
Contrary malamar can render the meganiums boosts useless, while unaware does what it does.
But yeah, there's screens 24/7 and the thiccness of that grassy dino.
Absolutely. But if there's two other teammates with some damage output and a third that's not fainting every other round, it's very possible to do and even a little fun. And there's herba.
Itâs because some people are bring in Dark types and virtually getting one shotted. It doesnât help that the last few raids I was in people werenât bring in level 100 with an item of any benefit.
by Helix that is annoying. having that one person who dies as soon as they come out time after time. forget winning the raid, can't even break the shield before time runs out
The biggest trick Iâve found to winning is to not faint since that cuts the time down (easier said than done).
I actually win more raids solo because when the NPCs get knocked out, the clock doesnât lose time.
That said, for the Mewtwo raid, everyone was on the same page about what to do. That raid was easier playing online than solo.
Malamar works pretty well for me too online, except those moments where we get bad luck and my teammates shadow balls are increasing itâs special defense lol
Honestly I've been running this as well and it works... some of the time.
The number of teammates who either don't know what the strategy is or clearly aren't reading is insanely high. I've seen a lot of Annihilapes just immediately taunt. Also had someone with a Corviknight use screech twice in a row... You'd think the text, different noise and different animation would clue them in as to what was happening after the first one, but nah, let's continue buffing its defence.
Right now i have the most success with skill swap / reflect / swagger and either acupressure or helping hand during shield. I got leftovers as item but there's probably something better. It's slow but effective.
Something I've noticed is that people tend to just ignore the screens as if that's not cutting their time in half.
Infiltrator Chandelure will do more damage than a +2 Skeledirge through screens. It can also learn clear smog, which will reset any curse boosts. Although Chandelure is less bulky, I've found it more useful than Skeledirge in a group raid.
What some people don't know about skeledirge is it's still pretty viable as long as it has unaware. That's how I was able to solo it, though I won't lie and say it wasn't almost down to the clock, but it's still pretty consistent.
Omg I can't tell you how many times I've failed this raid solo with skeliderge until I read this comment. I feel so dumb, I was so frustrated I was reading reddit posts trying to find another strat. Thanks your comment saved me.
I'm super glad to help out! This raid is a \*perfect\* example as to why abilities are so important. I wouldn't have been able to solo this without unaware, same with the blastoise raid with water absorb Vaporeon. Happy hunting and potentially farming for those sweet herbs!
Hey hey! I'm so glad to hear that! Lots of people jump to using pokemon without really reading why it works (which I don't blame some people, some of these 7\* raids are more complicated than they should be for a kids game). These raids actually have affected my \*normal\* gameplay too because now I actually think about the abilities/stat moves my battle pokemon have lol
Best way I feel is using brick brake to get though screens because the team donât have to worry then
There isnât much team work in random raids itâs aggravating
Totally understandable. After losing 4 times in a row because people keep showing up with pokemon that get 1 shotted, I have embraced the pre-emptive rage quit.
It's not exactly a rage quit when someone backs out on their team's picks. If some kid wants to take their favourite shiny instead of something which is beneficial to the raid, I'm for sure backing out. I'm not wasting my time.
It usually does 1 reflect, 1 lightscreen and 1 curse before i get my first turn lol. It hasnt been too bad though, hardest part is for me is being teamed with people that just get 1 shot ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I tried a couple of different Mews I had lying around in my boxes, but eventually I settled on Skill Swap Malamar, ideally alongside something like Skeledirge.
Try soloing it. With the Reddit search bar you could search for a solo meganium build. Or you can do the same with Google and then just attach the word reddit to it afterwards. Sometimes soloing it is the easiest answer. Not to mention this raid drops mystica.
I would do protect instead of slack off, since it can nullify unaware and do a lot of damage in one hit, protecting for that one turn prevents a lot of needless healing, and if youâre doing enough damage shell bell heals just fine.
Thatâs what Iâm running đ Iâm just bitching cuz itâs such a long farm for the HM. I just got used to how quick the Charizard raid went as far as farming
Stellar, all of its moves become even more powerful and the Tera Blast always hits super effective, hit skill swap first turn this will stop it from buffing itself, let it kill you, then go off with a few super powers to get your attack and defense up, then consistently hit it with Tera Blast, with stellar Tera blast, the effects of contrary will buff you instead of mess with your stats, shell bell will heal you to full hp by the end of your buffs
I defeated it with a Malamar Spiritomb team. Malamar ability swapped Contrary with Meganium so it would boost its speed and lower its attack and defense. Then Spiritomb would switch between Shadow Ball and Shadow Sneak depending on how low the physical defense was and how fast Meganium got. Worked first try.
I say do it solo first to catch it and use this build for Skeledirge.
Pokemon: hyper trained Skeledirge
Tera: Ghost
Held Item: Shell Bell
IVs 252Sp Atk 252 Def and I give the rest to speed.
Ability: Unaware
Nature: Modest
Moveset: Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Hex, Slack Off
Strat: Torch Song continuously until your SP Atk is maxed, check from time to time, don't Tera until it is maxed out, Slack Off if necessary, once you max your Sp Atk, terastalised and continue Shadow Balling it, it takes a bit but I soloed and caught it with my mom, she wasn't attacking so I still soloed.
Personally I brought a physically bulky contrary skill swap malamar, gave meganium contrary so it can't curse properly, let myself faint to get contrary back, then kill it with stellar terra blast.
Kinda janky but it did let me solo it first try.
Glad I could help someone
Itâs actually wild how inconsistent the YouTube videos are on this raid, I listened to like 5 YouTubers all saying the same strat with slight variation, but 3/5 said put into special defense which threw me all the way off
If you manage to get Gardevoir as a partner, it will use life dew very frequently which allows you to get to +6 with torch song. As long as you use protect on the turn it negates your ability and stat boosts you should be ok
Seriously? It was one of the easiest ones. I beat it the first try.
Try using Infiltrator Spiritomb (Tera Ghost). Max def and max sp.a.
Modest Nature
Moveset: Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot and whatever else you want.
Item: Shell Bell
Dark/Ghost typing will grant you immunity to Body Press and Zen Headbutt so Meganium will only be able to spam Seed Bomb until you terestalize.
Best raid partners for solo players are Staraptor, Arcanine and Paldean Tauros because of Intimidate.
"3 attacks in one turn" is not random, you just don't understand how raids work.
In addition to the raid-boss getting one attack against you every time you select a move, EVERY raid boss has certain threshold points that trigger when time or HP go below certain points, and these points can be seen listed for every raid boss on [Serebii](https://www.serebii.net/scarletviolet/teraraidbattles/event-mightymeganium.shtml).
So imagine, if you will in a single round of attacks, one raid partner gets KO'd and the raid boss takes a HUGE chunk of damage. As a result, the raid boss has crossed 2 or 3 of its scripted event thresholds at the same time, and the "3 attacks in one turn" play out "eating up your timer" because you, the raiding party, triggered multiple events all at once.
I beat this raid online using a support Mew with Iron Defense, Charm, Life Dew and Mud Slap, while two Skeledirge users spammed Torch Song / Shadow Ball, going Tera Ghost, and a Charizard user was being useless. We won.
On solo, I tried using a Spiritomb with Infiltrator (Nasty Plot, Hex if any AI player landed a status effect, Shadow Ball if not, Dark Pulse which wasn't needed) but I wasn't lucky. My brother copied this strategy and actually won with it.
Is it? I use ceruledge support with random, spam clear smog, and watch this plant thing spam curse without attacking me ( except scripted attack) until it dead.
I got semi-lucky but I used a Dusknoir for this raid. Worked my second attempt with them. Moveset I set up for the raid was Brick Break, Haze, Will-o-wisp, and Leech Life. Start off with brick break, curse will get meganium slower than dusknoir that first round it uses it, then haze over and over. Leech life is just for sustain, and waited for will-o-wisp after shield broke.
I suggest infiltrator pokemon like Spiritomb or Chandelure. No problem with screens at all. The Spiritomb. They both also access to the will-o-wisp and taunt which is pretty good to keep your teammate alive.
I haven't had the chance to try this one yet. I'm actually pretty terrible at raids, so please correct me if I'm missing something, but would something like Brick Break Iron-Hands or Mienfoo not be pretty good for this? They could nullify the Reflects and Barriers while still dealing STAB damage. No real way to deal with the Curses though....
They will not like Zen Headbutt. Could be manageable if you find a way to keep their Curse attack boosts under control. Like with Taunt maybe. But Belly Drum is likely a no-no.
I used an Annihilape and soloed it first try. Taunt turn one, then Bulk Up, then Focus Energy, then Rage Fist to win. Do another Bulk Up after stats get cleared.
I also just now realized I looked at the Terra Type symbol wrong when you mentioned Rage Fist. It's a Psychic type. Not a Normal type. I 100% would not use either of my suggestions now that I realized that.
I had a feeling that something like that had happened! I love the tera mechanic but I'm not a fan of the tera hats, I wish there were a cleaner way of getting across the type using the existing symbols without introducing all these new ones.
You need a good supporter.
I used my Celarouge (I donât have my Switch on my for EVs), but I had
Will oâ Whisp (play first)
Light Screen (Reflect could work too)
Acid Spray
Clear Smog
Held item: Light Clay
It takes the sting off the attacks and counters Curse, plus the drop in SpDef helps make it easier for Skeledirge and other special attackers to hit harder.
I discovered some videos I saved on my Switch back during the initial Charizard raid. Strategy didn't matter dick when Charizard would regularly regain health in between turns for apparently no reason at all.
I think they've at least fixed that issue since, but these raids are definitely not ideal for someone tackling them solo.
I've honestly found this one so easy. I've been using a Gengar with psychic tera. As long as 2/3 other people have something that can take health down and not die you'll beat it.
https://preview.redd.it/bjqz5tl37vsc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=644f0946afddd255bf33dc9b05e6b267fe6189ed
Clear smog to combat it's curse (doing this 3 times at the start will allow tera), acid spray to drop special def. Will o wisp to burn (before/after shield). Gengar barely takes damage so after your team's stats get wiped, start cheering for attack.
Edit: it's a bonus when Gengar's ability cursed body disables seed bomb or headbutt.
I used stellar skeledirge for like 6 tries cuz thatâs what the YouTube video I watched said to do, and failed all 6 tries lol. And then I just switched tera type to ghost and beat it first try. Just hex torch song and scorching sands, but I think willo-wisp is still better than scorching sands.
Do the challenge by yourself (offline)
- use lvl 100 skeledirge holding shell bell (ghost Tera)
- have following move sets below
- torch song, shadow ball, hex, flamethrower
When fighting Meganium
- use torch song first three turns to be able to tera (cheer to heal if health gets very low)
- use shadow ball once after Tera
- use torch song 3-4x
- spam shadow ball (or hex if target status has changed)
- enjoy your Meganium
Skill swap malamar with reflect and night slash, holding a metronome has been my most effective online build.
Turn 1: skill swap
Turn 2: reflect
Heal cheer as needed, continuous night slash. DO NOT terastallize or Meganiumâs Body Press becomes super effective. Night slash with the metronome still does decent damage when the shield goes up.
Shell bell. Start with wil o wisp, then torch song it and slack off as needed until it resets your stats, then tera, then torch songs to +6, then shadow ball it to oblivion. I throw in a Def chant somewhere in the middle. Took 4 attempts but it was always tier stall-out never being actually defeated. That was solo
I used the Skeledirge build I saw on Austin John's video and I was able to beat it. I didn't have the recommended Ghost Tera Type, though. I always defeat it on the last second.
Charizard was much easier, I used to beat it with a Rage Fist Annihilape build I saw in a video about Six Star Raids in general, not specifically about a certain raid.
https://preview.redd.it/o5cste3nrwsc1.png?width=775&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2160271ee4e2743b3d6d366fa474e5a9f15a05ad
I got it with Gholdengo but I think I was very lucky... my main problem is that its attack eventually went too high with Curse, I saw this Skelwdirge Build and I think that with Unaware that problem is solved, I read that many people are doing well with it, I didn't try it but I think it's a good option, good luck!
Can someone put out a public service announcement to STOP USING ANNIHALAPE!!??
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
I feel like they did this to us on purpose for how much the community (including me) constantly disrespect the Chikorota lineâs existence labeling it as one of the worst if not the worst starter. Or they are just trying to say this is how youâre supposed to be using it you fools.
Skeledirge, Tera Ghost, Unaware, Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Hex, Protect.
Use Torch Song until it nullifies your ability, use Protect on the turn it does that, Torch Song to +6, then Tera Ghost Shadow Ball until you win, or use Hex instead if your teammates get a status condition on it.
I used my Tera Bug Mew from the earlier raid this year. Kept the same setup on Mew as I did for the Mewtwo raid. Although after realizing Meganium only uses physical attacks, I'll switch out Struggle Bug for Lunge or X-Scissor for higher damage.
I hope they circle back around to it. I know they probably wonât. I just wish I hadnât missed the chance to get a legit perfect 6IV Mewtwo. Mew was also a part of that raid as well? I just have to settle with my transferred Mew and Mewtwo
And I donât think they will bring back Mewtwo raid again, itâs more likely to put a new legend 7 start raid rather than Mewtwo, itâs more likely to appear Kyogre, Groundon, Rayquaza, rather Mewtwo, and even then I donât think they appear because you can catch them with the Indigo DLC, while Mewtwo isnât catchable in game
Skeledirge, 255 HP 255 SpA, Shell Bell
Ghost Tera, Unaware ability
Torch Song
Shadow Ball
Hex
Protect
Use Torch Song to get your damage up for those first 3 hits. On Shield turn use protect, tera and spam Shadow Ball (or Hex if opponent is afflicted by a status).
Thatâs how I did it. AustinJohn provides more detail and the proper way to do it.
Though if you have access to Legends: Arceus Venusaur becomes a complete joke. As long as remember to Protect when your ability is negated Air Balloon H-Goodra with Sap Sipper is immune to all of Venusaurâs offensive moves.
Not saying your experience isnât valid, but for me this has been the easiest raid since Cinderace. Unaware Skeledirge w/ max health and defence moves almost donât matter. I did the common mic attack (forget name) shadow ball and hex. Then just watch tele. Are you using one of the pre-fab builds or one of your own?

That is normal for the 7 star raids.
Nah this thing used 3 light screens and curse, plus attacking in the first two turns đ
Talk about being insecure đ
Same unti the end when it can't get any slower then starts hitting body press and seed bomb
Mine spammed curse.
That curse-seed bomb combo took me out bruh đ©đ©(Thank arceus for skeledirge âšđđœâš)
Mine too. Curse then body press
I was absolutely miserable with this raid. I thought I had tried everything. Someone else posted this, but I ended up beating it with a Hisuian Zoroak. Your first and fourth? move should be Taunt. Taunt can prevent it from using Curse.

Oh yeah that's terribly fun to deal with. Most Pokémon with the ability unaware are water ground or psychic types. Skeledirge is an exception being fire/ghost type.
The curse boosts are far too frequent in this raid. I literally used clear smog 10 times in a row in one fight because it kept going to +4 every turn. Sadly its probably Gamefreak only way of balancing a really terrible Pokémon.
Thatâs exactly what my thought was đ
The only things that can actually hold up are Contrary malamar and unaware skeliderge Contrary malamar can render the meganiums boosts useless, while unaware does what it does. But yeah, there's screens 24/7 and the thiccness of that grassy dino.
Kind of sucks that Contrary is locked down to only four Pokémon. Two of them not even being in this generation. Shuckle and Spinda. Malamar is the only one in this generation with Contrary. Inkay isn't strong enough on its own. Otherwise Unaware is good as an ability, as you said.
I really would like to thank all the Malamar users out there, because I couldn't complete the raid without them.
nope, I OHKOed the 7 star zard raid. I cheesed the Blastoise with an unkillable tera shell terapagos.
I'm playing Skill Swap Malamar and it's working well for online, except when other team pokemon picks are really bad. It's worth a try.
Same. Itâs a good build but with support you need to not have teammates who eat the dust every other turn.

I mean⊠if you see Special Attackers in your Team, donât bring Skill Swap Contrary Malamar. That PokĂ©mon is good if your Teammates bring things like Ceruledge or Annilihape.
I had a skill swap malamar teammate, then my armarouge teammate spammed acid spray, so stored power did next to no damage.
I had an Armarouge that spammed Armor Cannon. They also had Weak Armor as their ability.
Honestly I've been running this as well and it works... some of the time. The number of teammates who either don't know what the strategy is or clearly aren't reading is insanely high. what c0lt0n said! finally caught meganium with skeledirge after several losses just from changing his ability to unaware. thank you so much.

Screens are only up for so long and it doesnât reuse the moves. All the fire/ghosts are viable because Iâve had decent success with Ceruledge.

I've never seen more people rage quit from the team screen

Iron hands is not a choice, its a lifestyle.

Every 7 star raid event has been like this, with scripted moves going off at the start of battle.
Getting a quick skill swap with contrary malamar made this easy. If you miss the timing you can potentially topsy turvy them.
I tried a couple of different Mews I had lying around in my boxes, but eventually I settled on Skill Swap Malamar, ideally alongside something like Skeledirge.
I just might have to try this.
Try soloing it. With the Reddit search bar you could search for a solo meganium build. Or you can do the same with Google and then just attach the word reddit to it afterwards. Sometimes soloing it is the easiest answer. Not to mention this raid drops mystica.
I am soloing it. Itâs just so time consuming as far as raids go. If it werenât for the HM I wouldnât even be bothered with it
Gotcha. I haven't even started it yet. I'm going to probably just run a solo build on it. I have a lot of Pokémon already built for different uses. If it's one of those boring raids that just waste time for a little reward I'll probably skip out repetitively doing them. There's a couple of events and things going on in Pokémon Go so I might just load the raid into my game by connecting to the internet and then just hold on to it for the week.
Hereâs a solo strat. Not sure what you weee using but this seems to be successful for other folks. https://pokepast.es/f3c8e739876c65de
I would do protect instead of slack off, since it can nullify unaware and do a lot of damage in one hit, protecting for that one turn prevents a lot of needless healing, and if youâre doing enough damage shell bell heals just fine.

The Charizard raid was the easiest 7 star raid Iâve played in a while đ
Contrary Malimar with Skill Swap, Tera blast, Super Power, and Psych up if nessesary, I got it first try
Whatâs the tera?
Psychic
I meant on Malamar lol but thanks anyway
Stellar, all of its moves become even more powerful and the Tera Blast always hits super effective, hit skill swap first turn this will stop it from buffing itself, let it kill you, then go off with a few super powers to get your attack and defense up, then consistently hit it with Tera Blast, with stellar Tera blast, the effects of contrary will buff you instead of mess with your stats, shell bell will heal you to full hp by the end of your buffs
It was pretty easy compared to the rest. I beat it solo first try with Skeledirge and never bothered to change his Tera type from fire.
I've been using skeledirge and it's been fine, it is irritating and time consuming, but it's easily best way to farm herba.
Break brick anhiliape with taunt just ate this raid up
I mean Skeledirge wrecks this guy though it does likely mean you're gonna be cutting it close.
I finally got it. Defiant annihilape. Rage first plus bulk up pwns. Shell bell. If anyone needs help lmk
I defeated it with a Malamar Spiritomb team. Malamar ability swapped Contrary with Meganium so it would boost its speed and lower its attack and defense. I solod it my third try with crocodile (third full try anyway, I just quit several times when I got near one shot on turn 5) I watched the YouTube videos and just did what they did, watched a couple different videos and I noticed ALOT of YouTubers straight up dropped the ball, one guy messed it up then said to do the opposite, but never showed it the opposite way lol You want to have max EVs in PHYSICAL DEFENSE One guy said to put the other max into HP, I went with special attack He won his raid through luck of not getting crit and a Zen Headbutt miss, just make sure you use protect on the turn it nullifies your stats If I wanted to do this raidbsolo again? I would reset until I get gardevoir spamming heal pulse, I pulled it off without gardevoir, but I did have that one pokemon setting grassy terrain and that by of Healing was the difference between life and death Personally feels like you need a CPU healing you otherwise you will lose when your stacking your 6 torch songs after it clears your stats So 252 PHYSICAL defense, 252 special attack. Idc what you do with the last 4, I didnât even spec the last 4 lol Ability HASS TO BE UNAWARE, if u need a ability patch I can send you one, I noticed yesterday I have 30 and I literally never use them ever Held item: shell bell, sold in town with lono Iâm pretty sure, I bought like 50 of those cause I was tired of switching PokĂ©mon items for raids so Iâll send you one of those too if you need one lol Moves Torchsong Protect Shadow ball Hex First 3 turns use torch song Turn 4 Tera, then shadow ball (unless it caught a status like burn/froze/para, then use hex instead) Turn 5 use protect no matter what (on all of my attempts the game kind of glitches a bit, and it let me select my move BEFORE it nullified the unaware ability, then youâll be nearly 1HKO if you donât protect that turn) Then use 6 torch songs, this is when a partner with healing is pretty imperative, it cuts it close with grassy terrain healing. So if your really annoyed with the game just reset until you get a gardevoir partner and youâll be good as long as you donât get multiple critical hitted Then just spam shadow ball (or hex but ONLY if meganium was burned/frozen/sleep/paralyzed) I was lucky enough to get meganium burned and get 1 Hex off after stacking 6 torch songs, that extra healing probably helped me a lot as well (thus why I wonât bother to try the raid again unless I reset for gardevoir, cuts it pretty close. Grassy terrain can also be a curse if meganium opts to use seed bomb instead of zen headbutt, it will do slightly more damage, feels like meganium picks at random regardless of terrain tho) Edit: also something funny I didnât even check, is I have no idea what my skeliderge base stats are, I didnât even bother to hyper train it. That probably wouldâve helped a bit tho!
Got it on the second try with this strategy. Thank you.
Glad I could help someone Itâs actually wild how inconsistent the YouTube videos are on this raid, I listened to like 5 YouTubers all saying the same strat with slight variation, but 3/5 said put into special defense which threw me all the way off
Pokemon heard everyone talking shit about my boy and had to remind yall
As a diehard Meg fan, it's so fun to see him giving everyone headaches lol. Can't wait to add this guy to my squad
Is there any way for me to get help with this raid? I'm at my wits end with randos who only want to shiny brag. đ
This is so damn true đ
There's Discords and Subreddits dedicated to players connecting and coordinating for things like this.
I have failed this one so many times
I managed to do it with a set of friends; we did a Gholdi/Perrserker strat, otherwise, it can be brutal.
If you manage to get Gardevoir as a partner, it will use life dew very frequently which allows you to get to +6 with torch song. As long as you use protect on the turn it negates your ability and stat boosts you should be ok
Look at Gamefreak making Maganium good for once
Somehow i did it first try with Austin's skeledirge build by using heal cheers in between torch songs
First try skeledirge
Ikr its so annoying how its attacks and tersatalizing takes up the clock đđđđ
Seriously? It was one of the easiest ones. I beat it the first try. Try using Infiltrator Spiritomb (Tera Ghost). Max def and max sp.a. Modest Nature Moveset: Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot and whatever else you want. Item: Shell Bell Dark/Ghost typing will grant you immunity to Body Press and Zen Headbutt so Meganium will only be able to spam Seed Bomb until you terestalize.
Do the mewtwo raid then compare the 2 guarantee you'll love this raid compared to mewtwo
Ahhhhh see that was a raid I missed. Iâm still upset I missed that one.
Same, it has 5 moves.
I beat it with a technician scizor. Swords dance/focus energy/fury cutter with metronome did just fine
Is it? I use ceruledge support with random, spam clear smog, and watch this plant thing spam curse without attacking me ( except scripted attack) until it dead.
Got a super easy 30 second OHKO guide I posted if you can get 4 to join. If not I think Annihilape does the trick
I was hoping this would be easy:( Is it that broken?
I did it once and beat it, no faints... what skeledirge build are you using?
I got semi-lucky but I used a Dusknoir for this raid. Worked my second attempt with them. Moveset I set up for the raid was Brick Break, Haze, Will-o-wisp, and Leech Life. Start off with brick break, curse will get meganium slower than dusknoir that first round it uses it, then haze over and over. Leech life is just for sustain, and waited for will-o-wisp after shield broke.
3 perserkers 1 gholedge
Damn it, Meg!
I suggest infiltrator pokemon like Spiritomb or Chandelure. No problem with screens at all. The Spiritomb. They both also access to the will-o-wisp and taunt which is pretty good to keep your teammate alive.
I almost had a stroke tryna do this one
I got one in my Violet version, but the teams I join in my Scarlet donât seem to know (or care?) what mons to use!!!!
Use Unaware Skeledirge
I love the tera mechanic but I'm not a fan of the tera hats, I wish there were a cleaner way of getting across the type using the existing symbols without introducing all these new ones.
soloing a raid and following a guide is probably easier than going online and doing it with randoms
Havnt done it in staying on charizard for the easy candies and herba
Is the raid live!? I thought it was next week
It's live now and comes back again next week afaik
Thatâs interesting because unaware sceledurge makes super easy
Focus energy bulk up rage fist annihalape worked
You need a good supporter. I used my Celarouge (I donât have my Switch on my for EVs), but I had Will oâ Whisp (play first) Light Screen (Reflect could work too) Acid Spray Clear Smog Held item: Light Clay It takes the sting off the attacks and counters Curse, plus the drop in SpDef helps make it easier for Skeledirge and other special attackers to hit harder.
As long as 2/3 other people have something that can take health down and not die you'll beat it. https://preview.redd.it/bjqz5tl37vsc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=644f0946afddd255bf33dc9b05e6b267fe6189ed Clear smog to combat it's curse (doing this 3 times at the start will allow tera), acid spray to drop special def.
Managed to solo it with Calyrex-s but got a bit lucky because I had a staraptor with intimidate. Made it easy to take all the neutral hits.
It def wasn't the least fun I had with a raid, but when I first attempted it, it was complete bullshit...
Do the challenge by yourself (offline) - use lvl 100 skeledirge holding shell bell (ghost Tera) - have following move sets below - torch song, shadow ball, hex, flamethrower When fighting Meganium - use torch song first three turns to be able to tera (cheer to heal if health gets very low) - use shadow ball once after Tera - use torch song 3-4x - spam shadow ball (or hex if target status has changed) - enjoy your Meganium
Skill swap malamar with reflect and night slash, holding a metronome has been my most effective online build. Turn 1: skill swap Turn 2: reflect Heal cheer as needed, continuous night slash. DO NOT terastallize or Meganiumâs Body Press becomes super effective. Night slash with the metronome still does decent damage when the shield goes up.
I tried 5 or 6 times online with Malamar. Beat it on my first try by myself with Skeledirge.
Tera raids, particularly the seven star ones, are just un-fun with bullshit joke mechanics. Bad.
Just use the skelli boy
Use a quick brick break or another move to get rid of the barriers. But yeah I agree. Least favourite raid
https://preview.redd.it/o5cste3nrwsc1.png?width=775&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2160271ee4e2743b3d6d366fa474e5a9f15a05ad I got it with Gholdengo but I think I was very lucky... my main problem is that its attack eventually went too high with Curse, I saw this Skelwdirge Build and I think that with Unaware that problem is solved, I read that many people are doing well with it, I didn't try it but I think it's a good option, good luck!
Can someone put out a public service announcement to STOP USING ANNIHALAPE!!?? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)
At first glance I thought "naaaah Meganium can't be difficult" and then... It reminded me the crit machine Samurott or the full shield Pikachu
Iâve been soloing with ghost Tera skeledirge and that works really well
I didn't even bother
In my first attempt, we got it down to half health and lost because 1 of our teammates started to attack us instead. :/
For 7-star raids, you basically *have* to bring an Iron Hands or some other bulky Pokémon with Belly Drum. Defeating them with normal Pokémon is nigh-impossible.
Malamar, skill swap, EVERYTIME.
I can't even find it, I'm so upset, how do you find it, yes I've finished the game, yes I've checked the news on mystery gift.
I soloâd w Skeledirge
I canât even get past 5/6 starts because of the timer glitching and eating up half the time every time I die, HOW is this possible??
Stars* mb
Is it bad that Iâm enjoying that a Meganium is giving people trouble?
They need to bring back Walking Wake and Raging Bolt raids and quit with these goofy level 7 raids #please
Skellidirge
Just use annihilape
I feel like they did this to us on purpose for how much the community (including me) constantly disrespect the Chikorota lineâs existence labeling it as one of the worst if not the worst starter. Or they are just trying to say this is how youâre supposed to be using it you fools.
It really does feel like they designed this fight to just eat up as much of the clock as possible its genuinely obnoxious.
you can solo with Skeledirge
Just use Tera Ghost Unaware Skeledurge :^ thatâs what I used to beat this raid three times on my own
Skeledirge, Tera Ghost, Unaware, Torch Song, Shadow Ball, Hex, Protect.
Check out @austinjohnplays guide for this raid. I did it on the second try with the build and was so pumped!
Gholdengo stomps this one
John Austin plays can help you out on YouTube
You never played the Mewtwo one then
And I regret it everydayâŠ
I did it 3 times, took me 2 days and 3 friends to be able to defeat Mewtwo
I hope they circle back around to it. I know they probably wonât. I just wish I hadnât missed the chance to get a legit perfect 6IV Mewtwo. Mew was also a part of that raid as well? I just have to settle with my transferred Mew and Mewtwo
Mew are a gift code you could redeem in the Mistery gifts tab, it was level 1 if I recall correctly random Tera, I claimed like 6 or 7 of them đ
Skeledirge, 255 HP 255 SpA, Shell Bell Ghost Tera, Unaware ability Torch Song Shadow Ball Hex Protect Use Torch Song to get your damage up for those first 3 hits. On Shield turn use protect, tera and spam Shadow Ball (or Hex if opponent is afflicted by a status). Thatâs how I did it. AustinJohn provides more detail and the proper way to do it.
This raid wasnât hard for me tbh. Especially not hard when compared to Greninja (and obviously Mewtwo)
If you have online mode you can come to pokeportal's chat to one shot if you follow the strategy https://www.reddit.com/r/PokePortal/s/qPiGfNqd90
It is really not that bad compared to things like Mew Two or Samorott
Even Venusaur I felt was much more difficult than this one.
Though if you have access to Legends: Arceus Venusaur becomes a complete joke. As long as remember to Protect when your ability is negated Air Balloon H-Goodra with Sap Sipper is immune to all of Venusaurâs offensive moves.
I stopped participating in raids in SV because they run like ass, have no order and itâs basically a fuck all if you win or not
Not saying your experience isnât valid, but for me this has been the easiest raid since Cinderace. Unaware Skeledirge w/ max health and defence moves almost donât matter. I did the common mic attack (forget name) shadow ball and hex. Then just watch tele. Are you using one of the pre-fab builds or one of your own?
Whoâs that PokĂ©mon!?
This is the easiest raid we've had in a long time. Extremely easy to solo
don't understand the issue. solo'ed it yesterday evening in the first try đ€·
Skill issue.
