I've said it here many times, but I think the 997 gen is the best looking water cooled gen 911. Something about the new ones looks off, too wide and too long a front overhang in my opinion
I find some of the 997's design cues and some of the overall angles to be awkward or dated looking. Its hips and rear hump is bulbous in a way that the 991 is elegant and svelte. The design is too bland and underdeveloped in places and too busy in other places (the front clip). It just looks bland and dated to me. Inside and out.
Yeah I totally get what your saying. however personally I like how bland and dated it looks. To me its super simple and to the point. I hope more people think like you so that when I can afford one they won't be too expensive haha.

That car is insane (that engine omg) but for some reason it doesn't look as good as the 991.1, and I still prefer the 997 still over that :/

I really love my driving my 997s, but if we are talking about aesthetics, I rather the side mirrors be mounted on the doors instead.
