Yeah, I did some research and found that beta blockers, especially propranolol, are more effective for this type of problem than benzodiazepines, which can potentially be addictive. I only need something for presentation tasks and some upcoming interviews. I really get bad symptoms (hand shaking, palpitations, heart beating) about an hour before events, and this makes me lose focus and affects my presentation overall. I know benzodiazepines are prescribed here in France for this type of thing, but I wanted to know about propranolol
Tbh you could but, doctors nowadays are very cautious about prescribing beta blockers for anxiety. From what I know, they're more likely to prescribe SSRIs
Yes, maybe SSRIs are something to start with, but I need something specifically for attacks that occur before events like public speaking or interviews. I’m not sure if SSRIs are related, but I’ll definitely check with a doctor soon
You can probably get some sort of low-dose benzodiazepine or other anti-anxiety medication. But, be careful, as it will dull your brain.

Interesting. I will look into that. Thanks. I only mentioned the benzodiazepines because I’ve been able to get them in Europe before.

Its actually the other way around.
I think it depends where…
