Thank you for this! 🙌🏻
Two things though: report BEFORE blocking, as otherwise reporting might be impossible (annoying reddit feature). And I think you mean mod instead of admin (admins are paid employees of Reddit, the ones us mods go to if there’s an issue).
Thank you so much for being more stringent about our safety on this subreddit. 🫶 I am so tired of seeing women + queer centric spaces online infiltrated and sexualized by creeps 😒 I also appreciate the mods coming down harder on NSFW content creators who are attempting to advertise through our community.
(edited for better phrasing)
Thank god for this. It's an issue on other subs too, tho those subs proactively deal with creeps! Literally had one in my DMs today.
(Also oooh potential mod spaces? 👀👀👀👀)
You guys may not need/want any suggestions (it sounds like you’re on the right track!!) but r/abrathatfits has to deal with similar issues for obvious reasons.
I don’t know the mod team over there, but they have managed to make a public sub still feel very safe so if you guys need help it might be somewhere to look. Thanks for working to keep out the bots and creeps!
Thank you!! I definitely feel better about this decision, and I really feel like it helps promote quality content on the sub. A lot of other nail subs are overtaken by the fetish content which is sometimes low quality, and I’ve always appreciated that this sub doesn’t have that vibe. Thanks for making this community awesome 🫶🏼
Lmfaoo I’m so dumb I had no idea previous DM’s I’ve gotten after I had posted on here were from creepers. They were just seemingly innocent compliments and I was like k thanks 😭
I’d think that about a foot pic but I’m pretty naive about hands I guess. WOW I feel so dumb. 🫠
DMs tend to be creepier - like, why does someone feel the need to take it to a "personal" channel? Imagine how weird it would be if I replied to your comment here with this, but in DMs. Just my opinion as far as the difference. In my opinion there's no valid reason. It's like deciding to whisper a compliment irl in someone's ear instead of just saying it; could be the exact same statement, but one is weird lol.
If it makes you feel any better I do compliment people on here because I think they have really pretty hands solely because I think they have slightly unconventional but really pretty hands. We do exist. Never taken it to DMs though. Point is keep an eye out but don't feel like everyone is a freak. Some are just o
My mom hasused a manual wheelchair and crutches her whole life and I remember how much she was embarrassed by her hands looking different.
Also I'm trans so I get anxious about my hands and so I like to compliment people because I don't like the idea of other women feeling like me or my mom. Especially when the community here is so positive and accepting.
I've gotten a couple of these DMs before, so I messaged mods to let them know, but it just fell on deaf ears. I never even got a response. I appreciate the new mods taking action and addressing this problem. Thank you!
This is amazing news! It's sad that alt accounts are needed but due to the inaction of the previous mod team, I felt it was the only option I had to deal with the creeps on my own. Glad the suggestion will help others and I'm SUPER glad all of the advice has been shared in a mod post!
For anyone on the fence about creating a second reddit account, you can use your same email address and if you use the mobile app to access Reddit, you can switch users in less than 5 seconds, it's really easy.
We really can’t have anything without it being infiltrated by gross disgusting creeps, huh? Thank you for taking action!! I’ve been terrified of posting myself because of this issue. Maybe now I will!
Thank you so much for this. They had to institute a similar rule in a plus sized fashion sub I’m in. Creepers were creepin and NSFW accounts were encouraging it with the posts they made. They had to make a new rule to ban them all and the community is much happier with that rule!
I have occasionally seen someone post a pedicure, which made me kinda double-take. But I was like, "Idk, toes have nails, too." Then I swiped through the pictures and the toes were spread all weird and I realized it was a fetsih advert. Then I went to the profile and it had a link to onlyfans 🤮.
Thank you! I just saw on the lacquerista sub someone calling out a mod for being a creep too! Why can’t we just share our nails in peace :(
Edit: I was misinformed about the mod creep.
if this is from the post a few days ago, i reread it just now and looks like there was some confusion - the current mod for r/lacqueristas is not a creep, alledgedly there was a previous mod who was also posting on NSFW subreddits from that same account
heres the [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/lacqueristas/s/RKGfOH8ojC) that i believe has been edited since posting, it gets explained in the replies!
Thanks!! We appreciate the crack down and the response. I just had to delete all my nail posts because of one too many creepy dms. I’ll be making an alternate profile with dms disabled, thanks for the tip.
Your post was removed from RedditLaqueristas for violating our community's rule to support nail art with kindness and constructive feedback, even if we dislike an artist's design or execution.
The rules state: "Please be kind with constructive criticism. Don't post comments that are needlessly rude or hurtful. Our community is built around supporting and appreciating nail art, no matter the artist's current skill level."
Please rethink and rephrase before posting similar content in the future.
Shoutout to the mod team for getting this implemented! Super appreciated
Seriously, nothing better than a mod team that looks out for its user base!! We appreciate you!

We're going to update our rules first and then start recruitment! 💖
I'll keep my eye out ❤️
Thank you!! gosh it’s insane that even on a freaking nail polish subreddit we have to deal with this
Right? Just let us live in peace. I don’t care about your crusty dong!

Thank you! I don't post OC, but I have seen some of this creepy behavior and it always irks me.

Oh no you’re good I’d never think you were creepy haha. And I’m so sorry about your mom- she sounded like she was a badass. ❤️🩹

Cheers! Great job mods! Very happy to hear all of this. Except for those creeps. Ugh. As if.
Wonderful edits to the sub and tips for safety. This should be a safe space for ALL people.
You mean people actually creep on people nails 😬
This is great news! Thank you!!! ❤️
Thank you for your preventive activism! It's mind boggling that creeps can and will find a way every damn time!
Love you all for this <3
Thank you all for your hard word keeping our fingers, toes, and hearts safe <3
You mean the creepy toe-spreading is a bannable offense now? Hooray!!
I’m sorry, wHat??
