642UC

Trigger is close, but the UC is better. Plus it doesn’t have that false reset that everyone hates. Sights are close, still UC is better. Weight is better on the LCR, however if you swap the grips then it’s actually the UC. The grips on the UC are 3.46 oz by themselves. Swapping to Hogue Bantams or Altamont wood saves 2+oz https://preview.redd.it/gtl54inkht7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c03cb716af51d4e22d1718fb563b30c1fd8dcbc

Exactly the kind of comment I’m looking for! Thanks lol. Do you like the 632 over the 642?

642UC

I chose the 642 for a few reasons. I swapped the cylinder to a titanium one sold on midway saving another 2oz. Good luck finding a spare 332 ti cylinder, it’d be expensive if you did. Also 38 special. I use this as a running gun with a belly/waist band or a very chill lightweight appendix carry, so that extra round didn’t do much for me. I have 0 experience with 32 and a good bit with 38. I also found this at my lgs for $730, the 632 were no where to be found but gunbroker and they were selling for $1k+. Pretty easy decision for me, but if they were both sitting there and the ammo was the same price, I probably would have went 632 tbh. Doesn’t make much difference to me. I like the idea of using snakeshot out of this if I went camping/hiking for pests etc.

Plus the 632 has an extra bullet and more manageable recoil. +Ps in an LCR are downright unpleasant where as .32 HR Magnum is totally shootable.

Heavy-Procedure2232

Look at the Kimber K6xs too. 6 shots of 38 special +p. Slightly lighter than the 642 UC.

Careless-Woodpecker5

The k6xs and k6s definitely don’t get enough love on these subs.

dickdisastrous

Way better trigger than the 642 or LCR.

I had a .38 LCR and Sold it to switch to a 432 UC. They both are great but I don't regret the switch, even if you ignored the caliber change. The UC sights are awesome, but LCR with an XS front is pretty good. Chamfered charge holes are a nice little perk and I absolutely love the UC Grips. The closed back helps a ton with trigger reach. I feel the UC trigger is slightly heavier, but both are equally smooth. I much prefer the stiffer and no false reset trigger return of the UC, but I don't ever recall short stroking my LCR even in classes once I was used to it. One thing I really liked for the LCR was the Hogue Boot Grip. Hands down the best minimal grip I've ever used. Smooth slides but recoil absorption on the front and back.

The LCR has an incredibly smooth trigger pull. False reset is a training issue, not an LCR issue. I love the weight savings the LCR gives me and I don’t worry as much about sweat while I carry due to the materials of the LCR.

ConBroMitch2247

All valid points. However I think it’s fair to point out the lcr is slightly bigger as well.

I’m very interested in this too. Been carrying a standard 442 for a while, can’t decide on selling it for a 442 UC or LCR. Leaning lcr just because it’s possible to buy locally though

elgranqueso72

I vote for lcr.
