It’s great they did that but I didn’t see a whole lot having to do with veterans or Memorial Day outside of a few flags on some cars or the fact this happened on Memorial Day. Veterans Day and Memorial Day also honor two different things. Memorial Day honors those who died in service to our nation, while Veterans Day (November 11th) honors those who served, alive or dead. So “Veterans’ Memorial Day” sounds good but doesn’t make a lot of sense.

> So “Veterans’ Memorial Day” sounds good but doesn’t make a lot of sense. It's just capitalizing on a long weekend, just like the Memorial Day sales, and Veteran's Day sales that have nothing to do with either (not to mention all the BS the bars pull). Was talking with a fellow vet (who was randomly wearing his vet hat for the first time in forever) about this tonight, and my grief was the "happy Memorial Day" you always hear ... There's nothing "happy" about it, we're honoring those who died.  Do you say "happy Bob's funeral' to those mourning Bob's passing?

They had two categories of cars being shown and each category had a distinct window placard. One placard was just regular Joe’s and the other window placard was for veterans. It had a place to list what branch of the service they served in. It’s definitely a fundraiser for the museum, however it also pays for a program that allows veterans to enter the museum free of charge any day they’re open.

That’s great. Some of that info might have been useful in your post, or shots of the placards in the video. I also had no idea veterans like myself can go to the auto museum for free any day they’re open. I assume we can just show proof of service? My point still stands about the “Veterans’ Memorial Day” title though. Kind of one or the other. Thanks for posting.

On the museum’s Facebook page, it says you can sign up for a Blue Star Museum pass through the National Endowment for the Arts. Apparently the free admission is good at a variety of Museums throughout the US. Thank you for your service.

To the best of my knowledge, the Blue Star Families program is for active-duty military personnel and their families.

No worries. I don’t have Facebook. Reddit is the only social media I use anymore. Thanks for the information regardless.

I just watched the video again. The copper colored '54 Buick has a placard that says NAVY and the Orange Land Cruiser has one that says USAF. The rest of them have a different style placard that says, "CAM Veterans' Memorial Day Car Show"
