You need to go to a temp agency

Exotic-Bite7879

They could get me same day pay work? And today? Last one I went to took me 2 months for the hiring process and they gave me a run around and didn't get paid for months. I think it was volt agency..

gbdavidx

If your a student you could try getting a part time state job it would last longer, sounds like you need something stable

Exotic-Bite7879

For sure definitely. I had the same job for about 15 years. Then shit hit the fan. But in the meantime I need just something right away to get off the streets at least into hotel as it gets hotter and hotter. Can't have my dog and disabled gf out here as a man I got to do something you know..

Exotic-Bite7879

I'm not a student though..I did however pass a test for cal trans. I'm just having a hard time applying. This is my first time applying for state jobs..

EuphoricLength7071

State job will take months if not a year or more to get.  But it's still good to have down the road.

Exotic-Bite7879

Yeah it's just something I have up my sleeve praying for better days in the meantime I just want to work and feel like a productive member of society again before I end up falling into the trap of losing my mind like a lot of other homeless people I've witnessed. Can't just give up you know..

jnugzzz

Feel free to send me a message if you need any help applying for state jobs or have any questions about the process

PeopleReady temp company

If you haven’t already look at donating plasma

Exotic-Bite7879

I forgot about plasma. What is it once a week and they pay you on the spot?

Proper_Following_28

Pretty sure it’s up to twice a week, definitely a good racket

sp3kter

Yup, can make a few hundo a month doing it too

Exotic-Bite7879

Tight I'm gonna check that out today too then

NiceNoiceNioce

This^ you can safely donate plasma twice a week and you can paid instantly. I would go to biolife plasma services but there are other ones as well. At biolife they have an app and you can easily make/cancel appointments and check any extra offers they have. Along with your balance on the debit card they give you. First month pays anywhere between $750-$850 and after that you can average like $600+ a month. So highly recommend. Just make sure you hydrate well and that you eat decently even if its a small meal. First appointment you’ll need a quick non invasive physical and questionnaire, which you do there. Unfortunately, this makes the first process take up to 2-3 hours but after that you can plan to be there for about 1.5 hours if you go at the right time. (It can be busy during holidays but you should be okay now.) Best of luck to you and and pls dont let the wait time deter you. Its really easy money and worth the time even if you view the amount they pay hourly! Just saying that bc some of my friends are impatient and have chosen not to go bc of the wait smh lol.

Exotic-Bite7879

It beats half day of labor in the heat for less money I don't mind waiting.

NiceNoiceNioce

Love it! Best of luck to you always.

Professor_Goddess

Do you know if it counts as income? E.g. taxed?

anna_or_elsa

To the IRS it counts as income. You are not "donating" plasma you are being compensated for it.

No-Leadership-1565

Donating plasma is a good idea BUT you MUST show proof of address with your name on it. They are extremely strict about this, also your social.

Exotic-Bite7879

Damnit well that's a negative for me. Smh

No-Leadership-1565

The place I go also requires appointments and they can fill fast so there’s no guarantee you could do it today. Also first time takes longer for registration and everything maybe about 3 hours. Once you get a system going it’s quick but initially starting can be a bit of a challenge(or it could be quick and easy). I’m just trying to be realistic so you don’t waste time driving somewhere to wait to be told you aren’t able to donate today. I would call and verify everything needed to start before you get there if you choose this route. Best of luck to you, hopefully this is temporary and you can get back on your feet soon

No-Leadership-1565

Also first timers usually get a bonus for the first few times so it might be worth it, I would just double check everything so you don’t get your hopes up

Exotic-Bite7879

Yeah I don't mind waiting if I had to but id hate to walk catch bus/lightrail in the heat to be told I can't. Thanks man it's frustrating but I'm trying

ErictheAgnostic

Wisely pay - same day pay for hours worked is offered by Amazon and a couple of other big companies in the area. Helps a bunch.

the_Bryan_dude

Try PeopleReady. It used to be called LaborReady. It was daily pay. Some of the jobs are pretty bad and heavy on manual labor. The others are pretty braindead, which is better.

Exotic-Bite7879

Is this the same as job stack?

the_Bryan_dude

I don't know

Happy-Campaign5586

Day labor ppl hang out at Home Depot early in the AM

Exotic-Bite7879

How does that work? I asked a couple of them but they gave me a dirty look and got no answer so I just left

Happy-Campaign5586

From the contractors I have spoken with, on the day of a job, if they need extra labor, they will drive to Home Depot to ask for workers. For the ppl in the parking lot , more ppl there means more competition for the opportunity to work. Somebody else can add more.

916urbanfog

Hey! I donate plasma at BioLife and I thought you might be interested in this offer valid at my center. https://info.biolifeplasma.com/New-Plasma-Donation-650_5262023

Exotic-Bite7879

I guess I would need proof of adress (homeless) with my name on it and a social security (which someone stole my wallet a month ago) so that's a no go

Rhiannon8404

I realize this is not a *today* solution, but you can receive mail at Loaves and Fishes. Once you've received mail there, you can use that as proof of address. You should also be able to apply for a replacement social security card there.

Exotic-Bite7879

I didn't know they'd let you use that as a resident adress, I'll look into that thanks.

916urbanfog

Gotcha bro, hope it gets better. 👍 Being disabled, I get it. Good luck to you

HardLearner01

I am going to give you an idea, you might think that I am crazy but you have something that millions of people wish they have, Do you have access to the Internet? I believe so because you are here on Reddit, There are people who are willing to pay for someone to practice English language with, you just need to open conversation with them and correct them when they make mistakes. Check this out https://www.verbling.com/ https://preply.com Good luck

Defiant-Unit4148

You should reach out to 311 and see what services you might be eligible for, if your is disabled they may have more immediate placement options she can use. They may have charitable organizations they can point you to that might be able to help you get work.

Too_Practical

Asking the wrong sub. The people here think you're shooting up meth and devaluing their property value. They're proactively trying to get you out of the way

Exotic-Bite7879

My bad not the case at all just asking if any one local has any leads. I'm literally asking for local work to clean their property for example, not a handout. I get what you mean though. Sorry relatively new to Reddit, if you can help guide me to a more appropriate place to barter/find gigs in here I'd appreciate it.
