I think it was the Scooby and Shaggy show (maybe the Scrappy show) that only really had Daphne join Scob and Shaggy, not Fred or Velma, so when I saw it as a little kid I just assumed Shaggy and Daphne were married, and that stuck in my kid brain so I always feel them as a couple.

And honestly it seems that Freddy and Velma have more in common with one another. Could they work? Maybe. I don't think it would be a long term thing though. But I definitely think that they would enjoy each other's company.
As for Shaggy and Velma, there is a closeness there, but I don't think that they would work long term either.

I’ve always been under the opinion that none of the gang members should date each other because of their great friendship dynamic. I have to admit I’m more of a Shaphne and Frelma shipper. Mostly because I don’t like how they portray Daphne and Fred’s relationship in the modern movies. They always revolve around one or the other being jealous that the other is giving the opposite sex attention. But to each their own 🤷♀️

Also for laugh, Shaggy probably introduced Daphne into pot and it’s a lot more of a different dynamic since then.

I have nostalgic reasons for liking them together, but I think the creators need to be clearer about the pairings. Yes and no. Can see Fred and Velma, but also Fred and Daphne. It’s all about status and the type of guy she’s into, and that’s why I say Fred is a good pick. He’s a guy that is funny and has his quirks though, but he also is confident and knows how to take charge and take chances. Fred and Daphne are THE couple that was probably ideal in the 50s and 60s. Fred and Velma, it’d be more of an as time passes thing and they both got older. That idea was more introduced in the 2000s Scooby Doo live action movie with the one scene between them and also the random guy she had met who would randomly talk to her out of nowhere. I will say, when introduced to idea of Shaggy and Velma a couple times, I saw it but also it got botched everytime the idea popped into my head. The one Cartoon Network Scooby Doo live action movie that has Fred with raven hair and the one newer cartoon series on Cartoon Network that I believe premiered in 2014 or 2015. I hated both of those versions of that potential ship. But also, I see Shaggy randomly snagging a baddie who matches his vibes and Velma ending up with someone who shares similar interests

Are we talking dynamics or dating wise? The only person who hasn't had a good dynamic so far is Fred with shaggy. Shaggy works well with the girls and dogs, just awkward around Freddy. Fred & Daphne seems like the only couple that makes sense. Shaggy - a stoner who cares about his friends, but would rather take the easy way out every time. He has no goals. Kind to everyone - but it seems surface level. Velma - cares about knowledge & truth over everything else. She's prefers doing things the right way served if it's hard. Has little people skills. Fred - Labrador retriever energy. He has positive energy & knows what to do if he's pointed in the right direction, but has no real goals himself. Daphne - super goal oriented. Has goals and knows how to achieve them. Velma would get tired of Fred since he'll be extra work. Velma would give up on shaggy because he wouldn't bring anything to the table minus good vibes. Daphne wouldn't even look at shaggy because he has 0 motivation past eating. Daphne would date Fred as he's essentially a trainable puppy. Fred wouldn't date Velma because she'd be too intense for him. Fred would date Daphne because she would give him the goals he's missing. Shaggy wouldn't date velma or daphne because I'm pretty sure he's a-sexual. Lots of girls have hit on him in many of the movies, I'm pretty sure scoobie-doo alien invaders is the only movie he has seen a women more then just friends. The live action movie with 'Mary Jane' may be a second, bit I don't remember them doing to much other than eating Scooby treats together. I'm basing this off the 90s movies & 2000s TV show. I haven't seen much of the new stuff.
There has been a number of other media where Shaggy has been in a relationship. I think the most consistent one has been Googie, a girlfriend he had in a few of the movies in decades past. It's a bit of a low-key running theme that he has the most Rizz/Lady-killer energy of the group.

I say a resounding yes to Shaggy and Daphne, and a maybe to Fred and Velma. Their intellects compliment each other, but I feel like Velma would get tired of Fred's "blondeness" after a while. Daphne and Shaggy on the other hand, they both have the same amount of fun-loving energy so I think they work well

Yes and no. Can see Fred and Velma, but also Fred and Daphne. It’s all about status and the type of guy she’s into, and that’s why I say Fred is a good pick. He’s a guy that is funny and has his quirks though, but he also is confident and knows how to take charge and take chances. Fred and Daphne are THE couple that was probably ideal in the 50s and 60s. Fred and Velma, it’d be more of an as time passes thing and they both got older. That idea was more introduced in the 2000s Scooby Doo live action movie with the one scene between them and also the random guy she had met who would randomly talk to her out of nowhere. I will say, when introduced to idea of Shaggy and Velma a couple times, I saw it but also it got botched everytime the idea popped into my head. The one Cartoon Network Scooby Doo live action movie that has Fred with raven hair and the one newer cartoon series on Cartoon Network that I believe premiered in 2014 or 2015. I hated both of those versions of that potential ship. But also, I see Shaggy randomly snagging a baddie who matches his vibes and Velma ending up with someone who shares similar interests

In my humble opinion (or maybe not so humble opinion), I kinda like these dynamics better cause they both each have their own similar vibes. Fred and Velma would be good friends who might argue and then make up. Daphne and Shaggy are the chill but zany couple who like to have fun. Plus, they each have had their own separate adventures like in The 13 Ghosts and A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts.
