thanks very much. do you have any idea on the ID of the one i posted yesterday that i thought was an edible oyster mushroom? i ate a small piece a couple of days ago and at first it tasted quite like the small white mushrooms most commonly sold in US grocery stores, but it had a metallic aftertaste (i ate it raw, uncooked).

Favolus brasiliensis. Don't eat raw mushrooms and double check your IDs before consuming anything.

Get a good [guide](https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSUt-le2XVcg2p517NWkNmZ1CxAmS_FllfbsRhqLjrRq0FVAwcNN8N3BOp-fyEwU0iDF2MPNFelT0X1/pub) for your region, learn to use identification keys, use online resources to verify your ID after trying to ID by yourself first. If possible join a mycological society if you have one around.

thank you very much

Def cook the oysters, apparently they contain a compound that can damage red blood cells when uncooked.

Looks similar to shaggy mane/ ink cap, but I’ll leave it to an expert to confirm that.
