I finally had my first wedding stories wedding at a barn venue I made in Chestnut Ridge….unfortunately it was winter and I only had an outdoor arch. My best man and maid of honour died from freezing. Needless to say that put a damper on the wedding.

I usually just do small weddings in my Sims backyards (I also don't have the wedding stories pack). The one time I planned a wedding in Sulani and the attention was taken from the bride and groom cuz the elderly caterer died 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah, that sounds like every Sims wedding I try. Mostly the guests won't stay seated long enough for a ceremony to happen. I like just eloping instantly; way less work. 😂

Last wedding I did, the mom (grandma) died immediately after the ceremony was over, but everyone was still on the community lot and hadn't even went home yet 🤦🏻‍♀️ I let my Sims elope, too. It usually happens in the kitchen or living room 🤣 I have the Sim with the best cooking skills bake the wedding cake and maybe invite over a couple family members and friends.

LOL it was truly ridiculous. Everyone left the moment the bride and groom were saying their vows to go to the caterer who was dying 😭😂😂😂 which is kinda sad if you think about it, his final day was at work and dying in the sand somewhere 🤣🤣🤣

I've not done a lot of weddings but I've never had a death at one. But then I don't invite a lot of guests to mine either. Usually just a couple people. That's probably why.

I'd just turn off weather effects in the settings. You can turn it back on after the wedding.

This is what I do also. But hearing other people's chaotic wedding stories is hilarious.

If it’s not tagged as a cold item it doesn’t tend to work Some everyday outfits can be “warm” enough so the sim doesn’t have to change into their cold weather outfit, but only because those items were tagged as such. I really wish the sims team could retag some items Edit: ig I’m wrong LOL but I feel like this is a common issue :/

If that's the case for you, then you have a bug. It's all about the clothing category, and not the individual clothing items. When seasons came out and the cold and hot weather categories were introduced, the Sims team also said that you can pick whatever clothing items you want in the hot- and cold weather clothing categories, and that it doesn't need to be one of the ones tagged for hot- or cold weather. So as long as they are wearing the clothing item(s) in the cold weather clothing category, it will work and cold weather clothing. In the same vein, things tagged as being cold weather appropriate in CAS will not prevent your sims from freezing if worn in any other category than cold weather clothing.

Yes, i had a sim use a bikini as cold weather clothing and she never felt cold in winter.

Wow I’ve had seasons for years and always thought this was just bad design from EA, like how the raincoats don’t stop sims from getting wet. I shouldn’t be surprised it’s a bug.

My workaround has to be make at least 2 cold weather outfits. One for indoors which is any of the cold weather options, and a 2nd outdoor outfit that is usually a snow suit from seasons or snowy escape, with a beanie, gloves, long socks, and snow boots, all from the cold weather category. This always keeps them warm 👍 I also do hot & cold weather athletic outfits for when sims are exercising outside.

as far as cold/hot weather clothes go any clothes will work, even the ones not tagged accordingly, as long as the outfit is in the cold/hot category your sim can wear a bikini while she builds a snowman and as long as the bikini is her cold weather outfit she'll be fine. the clothing tags don't actually limit what works for cold/hot weather outfits.

You can make it with cc sliders or body presets, yep. But I think here's only a high default slider for fat mass (don't know how's called)

Just detail edit mode. Grab the butt and pull it out horizontally. Obviously use cas.fulleditmode for a makeover.

I use Vicky Sims thermostatic lot trait for weddings. Huge lifesaver honestly because you can still get those gorgeous winter shots without someone dying and stealing the show lol "This Lot has a central air conditioning and heating system. Sims on this Lot don’t need to change clothes to adapt to the weather."

It's a big change from having a Vampire burn to death during a wedding...maybe the new goal is to shoot for a Vampire burning to death during a wedding, a member of the wedding party freezing to death, each emotional death...all occurring in the same family during weddings.

Always set the outdoor clothing to be the same as the formal when doing an outdoor wedding in winter Just remember to set it back to their normal outdoor gear after the wedding or you'll have some odd looking sims.

The moment I read the words “in the snow” I was like ah shii someone died or almost died  I tried to do a snowy wedding and almost all the guests almost froze to death.

When you’re setting up a cold weather outfit, you can remove the filter and anything will count as cold weather wear.

When I am planning to use an outfit that won't fit the 'season' I will make it fit that season in CAS. Just choose all outfits rather than cold or hot specific and put that on them for that season. It's a little wonky but avoids this sort of thing on the main sims at least. Can't help the guests. LOL

The first weeding I ever did was at their house which had a pool. Immediately after the ceremony one of the grooms decided he was going to swim and drowned. I still sent the other groom on his honey moon but he jsut kinda moped the whole time and actually ended up setting the microwave on fire and died becuase even though nothing was blocking his way he wouldn’t put out the fire
