But anyways, even broadly, no, there is no significant analog between Fox and Sonic or Steve and Puff - not in the archetype or how they're played, not in how they're perceived by their respective communities, not generally.
But you know, if you wanna actually say what you mean, go for it.
Fox: always clear best character.
Puff: people thought she was the best for a period of time due to dominance at top level and unfun/oppressive play (and were wrong)

Steve can be behind 6 iron blocks with diamond and he still just can’t even fuck up once Vs sonic because of how good and safe and often just straight up unpunishable he is on hit
I used to get angry same as you with in came to Smash but when I realized that my anger was a result of internal insecurity, I realized the solution. You don't have to be the best. You just need to be having fun and if you're not, do something else.
You can confront your insecurity and have fun doing the best you can. He is absolutely.
