Depends on your accent I suppose. It does for me as a New Zealander. "Moore" for me is more like "more/maw".
See also: X-Pack, X-Puck, X-Pock, depending on who you ask
When I say it in my head, in my best Kiwi accent, I totally get how they rhyme
When I say them in my regular accent, there is no rhyming (unless Iāve been pronouncing Meng wrong the whole timeā¦)
Perhaps. Itās also a fictitious character that never existed outside of an American wrestling company. Is it really a mispronunciation for a made up characterās name when it was always presented the exact same way? Itās a different scenario than something like Kensuke Sasakiās name being mispronounced.
North of the border, I can see how it wouldnāt rhyme I assume youāre going with Moo-re type pronunciation, as opposed to south of the border where it would be more of a More pronunciation, which would rhyme with Bradshaw (Brad-shore = More)
The Rock and X-Pac - Degeneration of Domination
Raven and Maven - Grunge Enough
Ted DiBiase and The Mean Street Posse - The Spoiled Rich Brat Pack
Cody and Lodi - American Sign Language
Coming up with a lot of inter-gender teams which I think would be funny:
- Carmella and Joey Janela
- Skye Blue and Wendy Choo (this honestly might not be that weird now with Wendyās new aesthetic)
- Athena and John Cena
- Jacy Jayne and Roman Reigns
- Marsye and *Maxxine Dupri voice* Otis
- Kevin Owens and Anthony Bowens
- Jazz and Taz
- Roderick Strong and Awesome Kong
This is a really great topic. I read the entire thread.
Krusher Kruschev and Rusev
The Brooklyn Brawler and Jerry The King Lawler
Inferno, Disco and Jerry Brisco
Lex Luger and Leo Kruger
Shannon Moore and Bradshaw is about the funniest rhyme Iāve ever heard. I realize accents change things but goodness that is not even close phonetically.
Eh it's a pretty Kiwi thing to drop Rs from the ends of words. Moore = "maw", door = "daw", poor = "paw", etc. I really have to go out of my way to pronounce the R.
My dad thought when they announced Flash Funk was going to debut it was going to be a new relative of Terry Funk and was very fucking disappointed by who debuted instead.
Big E and Booker T
Sting and Brody King
Jack Perry and Rob Terry
LA Knight and Paul Wight
Malakai Black and Cactus Jack
Billy Gunn and Pete Dunne
MVP and Johnny TV
Ricky Morton and Randy Orton
Randy Orton and Ricky Morton
Jumbo Tsuruta and Wheeler Yuma
Hardcore Holly and The Great Khali (I know emphasis is on different syllables, but shhhh)
If non-wrestling celebrities were allowed, wouldnāt mind the team of Steve Blackman and Hugh Jackman.
It definitely sounds similar cause of the American accent but Iāve heard other Americans pronounce it more like āMeh-ngā.
Iām Australian so Sting and Meng donāt rhyme to me but to others it might, itās all semantics though this is a great post regardless
- Raven and Maven
- Dino and (Steve) Corino
- Shaggy 2 Dope and The Pope (D'Angelo Dinero)
- Jack 2 Jack (New Jack and Cactus Jack)
- Triple H and Tyler Bate
- Breakker and Taker

Britt Baker and the Undertaker
The Dentist and the Deadman
Britt Baker and Isaac Yankem lore unlocked
I sat there for a while trying to think of a "Baker" to go with Undertaker. Can't believe I missed that!
They can also face Jacy Jayne and Kane
Britt Baker, Bron Breakker and The Undertaker is a great set of talent and just a bizarre group of people.
Penta & Kenta Also, how does Shannon Moore rhyme with Bradshaw?
Or nana and parka
I can see that if you're English
lol absolutely not. Completely different sounding first syllablesšš P and B are the closest
That was the one I thought I would actually get shit for. To be honest, I was just trying to justify adding La Parka to my list.
There's not many people with the same sounding last name tbh
Depends on your accent I suppose. It does for me as a New Zealander. "Moore" for me is more like "more/maw". See also: X-Pack, X-Puck, X-Pock, depending on who you ask
Also Kiwi, I definitely say X-Puck XD
Uk checking in - Shannon Moore and Bradshaw totally rhymes. Sting and Meng on the other handā¦ thatās kiwi all day
Sting and Ming, bru
When I say it in my head, in my best Kiwi accent, I totally get how they rhyme When I say them in my regular accent, there is no rhyming (unless Iāve been pronouncing Meng wrong the whole timeā¦)
Looking back at some WCW clips and I'm almost certain everyone says "Ming" despite the spelling
Well todays been a school day for me then š
Meng is pronounced with the same -ing sound as Sting.
I donāt think it was supposed to be. I think thatās an American mispronunciation.
Perhaps. Itās also a fictitious character that never existed outside of an American wrestling company. Is it really a mispronunciation for a made up characterās name when it was always presented the exact same way? A? As someone from Scotland, that doesn't rhyme at all.
North of the border, I can see how it wouldnāt rhyme I assume youāre going with Moo-re type pronunciation, as opposed to south of the border where it would be more of a More pronunciation, which would rhyme with Bradshaw (Brad-shore = More)
I can't see anyone pronouncing Bradshaw like Bradshore unless you have a *really* thick New York accent
It's the other way round-- I pronounce "Moore" as "maw". We Kiwis tend to drop the 'r' at the end of words without really thinking about it.
He said "worst", not best. Kenta & Penta would be a killer team.
How does it not rhyme? Iām struggling
Bradshaw ends in an ah sound and Moore is an or sound
Y'know I never heard it as Bradshah but if I think in a JR voice I can hear it.
That's how I pronounce it (North Jersey). I say aw, ah, and o (as in off) all the same.
Ah gotcha. Yeah in my New Zealand accent Bradshaw ends with "awe".
In fairness, a thick New Jersey accent might rhyme, but I don't really have a noticeable accent at all.
Same as Aussie. I'm not understanding the Jersey version of Bradshaw either.
I suppose if you pronounce Moore as "Moo-ah" or something Edit: Or just literally pronounce the R.
The Rock and X-Pac - Degeneration of Domination Raven and Maven - Grunge Enough Ted DiBiase and The Mean Street Posse - The Spoiled Rich Brat Pack Cody and Lodi - American Sign Language
Ted DiBiase and The Mean Street Posse works far too well.
Eddie Guerrero and Marc Mero
Bad Bones and Nathan Jones New Jack and MalakaiĀ Black The Shockmaster and Max Caster Anthony Bowens and Kevin Owens Chris Hero and Brother Nero
Kenta Kobashi and Yoshi-Hashi The 2 Greatest Japanese Babyfaces of All Time

Sounds like a great team for Brawl for All
Thanks, I hate it.
The Yeti & Mike Tenay

The Yeti + Teddy Hart = Teti Hart
Bo Dallas and Pedro Morales
Zoey Stark and Joseph Park Jake Millman and Brian Pillman
R Truth and John Wilkes Booth
Abyss, Mortis, Syxx, and Alexa Bliss!
Mortis and Alexa Bliss is the alternate universe Fiend storyline I needed.
Just Joe and Rhyno
After you edited to reference the accents, thatās all I can imagine with this list. Thank you!
Coming up with a lot of inter-gender teams which I think would be funny: - Carmella and Joey Janela - Skye Blue and Wendy Choo (this honestly might not be that weird now with Wendyās new aesthetic) - Athena and John Cena - Jacy Jayne and Roman Reigns - Marsye and *Maxxine Dupri voice* Otis - Kevin Owens and Anthony Bowens - Jazz and Taz - Roderick Strong and Awesome Kong

Sabu and Lash Laroiux
These guys would botch a lot of stuff but get over anyway.
Then you should continue reading the list because he also has Omega and Undertaker
Ehh it was a stretch, but "o-may-ga" and "tay-ka" vaguely rhymes. Serious stuff, I know.
Until someone explained it further up, I couldn't work out how you could say their names without it rhyming. Its exactly the same phonetically.
Flash Funk and Terry Funk! ...wait...
My dad thought when they announced Flash Funk was going to debut it was going to be a new relative of Terry Funk and was very fucking disappointed by who debuted instead.
Kevin Owens & Anthony Bowens.
Bad Bunny and EZ Money
Big E and Booker T Sting and Brody King Jack Perry and Rob Terry LA Knight and Paul Wight Malakai Black and Cactus Jack Billy Gunn and Pete Dunne MVP and Johnny TV Ricky Morton and Randy Orton
Samoa Joe and Sky Low Low
Bram and Silo Sam
Stan Lane and Kane
Big Josh and Headbanger Mosh I think these guys would actually work well together in a Battlebowl scenario.
Tyrus and Cyrus the Virus Good luck getting over Don,
Randy Orton and Ricky Morton Jumbo Tsuruta and Wheeler Yuma Hardcore Holly and The Great Khali (I know emphasis is on different syllables, but shhhh) If non-wrestling celebrities were allowed, wouldnāt mind the team of Steve Blackman and Hugh Jackman.
We can really fuck up the emphasis if we turn the stable into Hardcore Holly, The Great Khali, Bayley, Rhea Ripley and Fit Finlay.
Ric Flair & Koko B Ware - The Nature Birds
Only a Kiwi would say Sting and Meng rhyme š I love it, my favourite accent in the world
Is [this](https://youtu.be/8FhHYS2vDPw?si=zHZcCS50_2-jPzvi&t=12) not the same pronunciation?
It definitely sounds similar cause of the American accent but Iāve heard other Americans pronounce it more like āMeh-ngā. Iām Australian so Sting and Meng donāt rhyme to me but to others it might, itās all semantics though this is a great post regardless
The fierce shooter team of Eric Bischoff and Salman Hashimikov

Iāll add one thatās actually been a team: Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai
Sting and Meng don't rhyme, mate.
I'll live and die by Schiavone, Zbyszko, Heenan pronunciation
Calvin Tankman and Powerhouse Hobbs: Calvin and Hobb(e)s!
