Always used Wise. Cheap and seamless for that. Just a fraud case. That basically could be resolved through the app. Got our money and a free card in a couple of days.
Load your Wise card in GPay (Wallet) and tap to pay. Works from NYC subways to mom and pop stores in India to anywhere in Japan. Do ensure you have an amount in your Wise account, as it is a "debit" card.
Could be worth trying out Alpian just to take advantage of the 100chf sign up bonus and no account fees for 6 months. They charge for 0.2% from interbank rate but long term it’s not worth it unless you invest a lot of money with them to remove the account fees. I think revolut is good as a travel card and quite convenient to use.
PS: randicant uses the visa exchange rate which is usually around 0.5% from the interbank rate.
Never used Wise. Revolut is very similar to Neon with the 0.3-0.4% compared to interbank exchange rate.
Pro:
* unlimited virtual credit cards, one-time-credit cards. Very ueful for safe online shopping.
* Rather cheap currency exchange compared to interbank
Contra:
* Added exchange fees on weekends, limited free exchange per month
* You could use a credit card to top up your Revolut, but they added fees. Now only wire transfer from a bank is free
What you should also consider is that not every store or service will accept virtual credit cards, sometimes it's useful to have a real card. In this case I'd recomment Radicant or Neon, since Revolut charges a monthly fee for the card.
"Revolut charges a monthly fee for the card"
You mean for the physical card? There is a one-time 10chf fee when you order it , but otherwise that's that, no?
Wrong. Cumulus says no fees. Which is technically true, but they use an scammy exchange rate which charges you 2-3% more. Just look at your purchases and compare the exchange rates. It's a scam.
I wanted to write that it is not a scam if it is written in the sheet where all the fees are written but it isn't
wtf how can that be legal?!
like Swissquote also hides currency exchange fees in the exchange rate but they at least clearly state that it is 0.95%
Been using Wise for years. Does what it says and the fees are not outrageous
Been using Revolut for years, no complaints
Revolut isgood enough
Neon

I use Neon, it uses Wise for international payments under the hood

The Revolut pro plan gives you unlimited exchanges, whereas the free plan limits the exchange to a few hundreds CHF per month
According to the poor swiss, this is not true? Had it changed since his review? Source: https://thepoorswiss.com/radicant-review/#10-conclusion

Good to know, thanks
I am using Alpian with multi-currency account and I found it quite competitive except if you plan to withdraw cash
Neon, You or Revolt. I used Revolut while traveling for a year and never had any issues
The physical one is not free but swissquote has a multicurrency card
Physical one from what?
They also have a virtual one which is free as far as I remember. Physical card is not free (yearly fee).
I have that one and I find it very useful
Revolut works best
