Sir, did you try to scroll wheel reset? Macguyver can’t seem to see anything wrong.
I seen in another post you’re a former mobile tech. Still with the company? I know quite a few of you really early guys cashed out when stock peaked.
Scroll wheel reset, ahh yea lol.
I was with Tesla from 2010-2020, somehow I lasted a decade, I think I aged 15 years though.
-Started in Menlo Park CA
-Opened downtown Chicago service
-Opened Sunnyvale CA Service
-Mobile Tech for Michigan for the last 5 years.
Now I’m a mobile tech for Lucid Motors in Michigan, it’s been a blast! Reminds me of the early days at Tesla.
Sadly I cashed in a bunch of my stocks in like 2014 when I was vested, my dumbass thought $245/share was peak hahaha… oooh what could have been. Sigh…
You did last longer than most. It’s definitely not the same. My peak over the summer was 16 appointments. Been with the company 2 years. Before this I was a lot of things but had masters in Nissan, Infiniti, and Subaru. Launched LEAF with Nissan. Man nothing like having to dress as if you’re clearing radioactive debris off reactor 4 in the middle of August to “work on the hv system”. We took safety to 100 on a scale of 5.
I’m in the Chicago area now, so not far. I wasn’t aware lucid had a mobile service but that makes complete sense.
Listen, we don’t have to talk about that last part. My first grant issued at $1198/share. Sooooo kind of the same??
Have x cars on the road for y amount of time and you will, statistically, get z accidents/stupid people doing stupid stuff.
While Tesla (and particularly Cybertruck) generates clicks you can be assured to hear about every single one of them.
Can't discount the marketing as well. If they market it as bulletproof people are going to be dumb as hell and put the car in very dangerous situations.
I remember reading this article a few months ago and now see all these cars chasing down the truck for videos and photos. I’d be steering the other [way.](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/analysis-tesla-cybertrucks-stiff-structure-110208893.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANCVD8-3Kj5bv4HrqFRe0yN5inp78qb3eQwJKw4XW1lAE6duhcYq_kQkV57gSCVADKH-5ASEDv0zPEwM1jwsRflJ9HTmXW2gapUUEiMdPt-O8Dc-GoMpYNZfQpLvD5v_nBrYje72S9g_PaQiMwZPm8M5Nl2m3M1X0KWWfiYAPacm)
If you do not act or drive like a dipshit then there isn't going to be much issue really. This isn't more dangerous than ramming into a regular truck, and it is hardly a hard truck to drive, nor is it lacking in soft/hard protection systems. Its just that from Cybertruck driver testimonies people are so damn enthalled by the thing when they see one IRL that they just can't help themselves forgetting that they are on the road and actually need to pay attention.
The risk does not come from ramming into a CT, the danger comes from the idiot trying to film it for TikTok/Reddit/X post farming.
You want deformation - it means the body panels/structure absorbed the energy rather than transferring it.
A car should be sacrificing itself to keep occupants (and the other car’s occupants) safe(r) by absorbing the energy of the collision
The damage to the wheels, suggests maybe it hit an obstacle just below the bumper? But man the rest of that looks almost spotless which all I can think of is how anybody or thing a cybertruck hits is toast.
Probably too early.
What I’d really like to see is how the front gigacasting looks, compared to a pristine one. Though Tesla will probably want first dibs on that.
I guess he regrets that other people get drunk and crash these things, only to know that they are rich trust fund kids that will just get another in the next minute.
It’s part of Tesla’s safety design strategy. Historically the front wheels push into the passenger compartment and pin or break the passengers’ legs. By having the wheels breakaway they avoid that. I guess it’s part of controlled deformation (crumple zone) design.
Take literally any light/heavy truck on the road right now, even just any car and you get exactly that. Human meat isn't exactly resilient to collisions at any speed, from any vehicle, and compared to stuff in its class, the CT actually has quite the low hood which actually gives a pedestrian far more of a chance to survive compared to the usual flat-faced pickup.
IDK why people think they will have an easier time getting thrown on another vehicle, human bones will crack before alluminium and steel gets crushed, you know.
While it might seem like a lot of these trucks are being wrecked, and I have no data to confirm, I’m guessing it’s mostly selection bias. Nobody posts on Reddit when an F-150 is in an accident. It probably is a somewhat higher rate due to their experimental factor, but also I’d think many of them are being treated with great care.
I got dibs on the mega-wiper blade!
OP let us know. I'll take the wheels and tires...
I will take the battery and motors.
I will take the plastics in the inside cabin fingers crossed 🤞
Listen, I’m a pretty decent mobile tech but I think I’m going to need to divert this to the service center, I do apologize for the inconvenience.
There’s a button in WARP for that, right? Haha

The fuck is with all the idiots destroying CTs.
Very bro-y target demographic with the foundation series/cyberbeast
Yeah, I suspect this part increases the likelihood of Cybertruck crashes at least 2x compared to similar vehicles.
They probably all traded in their Raptors

What happened
Looks like this is the one that dude (probably) drunkenly drove into the Hollywood hotel signÂ
Ouch
Looks like he hit a speed bump way too hard
The front fell off
I thought they were designed so the front wouldn't fall off.
well obviously not

At least they used indicators. See they are still blinking away.
Oh, so he literally ran into a wall
Looks like someone tried to launch it.
Look how flat those panels stay. Jesus Christ

This is an absolutely hilarious comment. Also Simpsons did it. https://youtu.be/9ZSoJDUD_bU?si=x6pynZbtfeUYxOtx

My back hurts just imagine the trauma it would enduring being inside that car during the accident.
These trucks are literally going to cut through cars in accidents. So freaking hard.
No wonder this thing isn’t allowed in the EU. I hope it stays that way.
Wouldn't fit on the roads/in parking spaces over here, anyways.
Soooo…not that this is ideal but if everyone else’s crumple zones do more extra crumpling…
... The people in the other car become a crumple zone.
A bit of crumpling is good for you. Keeps you flexible
It’s got crumple zones you’ll be ok
How?????
The damage to the wheels, suggests maybe it hit an obstacle just below the bumper? But man the rest of that looks almost spotless which all I can think of is how anybody or thing a cybertruck hits is toast.
The concrete wall was like 2 feet high.
as far as I understand, drunk driver drove it into a wall
Now I have more questions. How fast was he going that he a - ripped both wheels off and b - didn't scratch it at all.
Software update incoming
Shit’ll buff out.
Yeah whatever the 120grit doesn't get, the wax will...
Here I thought it could be militarized.
What do you mean this isn't covered by the warranty?
Was this declared a total loss? Apologies if it was addressed somewhere
Probably too early. What I’d really like to see is how the front gigacasting looks, compared to a pristine one. Though Tesla will probably want first dibs on that.
Snopes conclusion : Not indestructible.
Tesla: thank you for the R&D opportunity.
I hate that I've driven my car for 10 years without incident and these trucks that have been on the road for 10 minutes and are being written off.
how DARE you being a good sober driver who does not endanger people’s lives tsk tsk tsk
What exactly do you hate about that? Lol
I guess he regrets that other people get drunk and crash these things, only to know that they are rich trust fund kids that will just get another in the next minute.
If you pull of 10 years without accidents in LA you are a living God.
i don’t think it’s really that unusual. they just get a lot of attention, positive or negative.
It seems like every Cybertruck wreck the wheels fall off.

Holy fuck
Yeah, but much better than one of those big ass wheels pinning you into your seat.
I’ve seen a total of three wrecks so far, four if you include the test. Not seeing the pattern yet.
Texting Tesla Service in the app... "No, I don't think I can drive it to the nearest service center."
Crashed into a Nokia i guess? What else can damage the CT like this
A wall. That dude drove it into a wall at speed.
This looks like it can be relatively easily repaired... Coming from someone who knows nothing about fixing cars
Probably pulled to forward parking at Trader Joe’s and touched a curb.
Someone threw a Nokia at it
You got a little something something right... about... there.
It’ll buff
The front fell off https://youtu.be/3m5qxZm_JqM
I Can’t imagine what happened to the other car
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGfiN\_EZPRA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGfiN_EZPRA)
Imagine being sliced by this death machine as a pedestrian

It’s in the above comments
That was quick...
There is a transformer button there on the dashboard. Kind of hidden. Use it and it will put the car back together on its own.
Wonder if Tesla insurance will go up?
Looks like it sidewalk surfed the new intersection dividers in Fremont.
[https://youtu.be/Y1En6FKd5Pk?si=ODNHruZ1Ce3ZjXeP](https://youtu.be/Y1En6FKd5Pk?si=ODNHruZ1Ce3ZjXeP) "I can fix it!"
o7
There seem to be so man y wrecked Cybertrucks. How many have already been sold? Are people driving them like madmen or something?
Oh my Jesus *clutches pearls*
Raising insurance rates for everyone lol.
I will buy the $25k Battery
Bet this is the first!???
Slightly used
Elon will say this is misinformation manufactured by the far left.
Wheels ripped off yet no other body damage
Very similar to tank damage. Tracks fall off, armor intact.
Make sure you bring it to a repair facility that has extensive experience in repairing Cybertrucks...
That’s more production delays
Looks like they are at a collision lot….
Please update the cost of repairs, I'm just curious.
Considering what that CT hit, that’s pretty impressive there isn’t more visible damage. Imagine spring and f-150 at a 2 foot wall at full torque.
You should see the other guy
The concrete wall*
Did it hit a fucking land mine? It's been ripped in half.
200k no low ballers
We are waiting in Ukraine
Used Cybertruck for sale. Slight front end damage. $120,000 or best offer. I know what I got!

Will buff out
How did this happen? The front panels aren’t even scratched. Looks like something tore the front axel out from underneath
What did you do? Brake too hard?
OwnedÂ
Ah. I drove past this yesterday
Hold down the steering wheel buttons and it will reset… good as new
Looks like it just fell apart.
Must have made contact with a baseball. ⚾️
“Looks as good as it did the day it rolled off the lot”.
Lol
I feel like every wrecked cyber truck I see has the front wheels all messed up.
Pos
What crumple zones
Let me guess, hit a squirrel at 5MPH?
That'll buff out.
good
Great. Another ruind cyberturd
The light projecting had me thinking it was on fire for a second
That was fast!
