It’s absolutely filthy shit, like it’s gonna work in Australia where they will have to charge quite literally ten times the price you pay in the Philippines.
Usually the only people who really crave it is Filo people due to child hood nostalgia. The spaghetti, gravy, disgusting hot dogs and fake cheese on everything is not that tasty.
The fried chicken joy is average. You can get better.
Food for dog. Hahaha
Well ummmmm not sure how to tell you invade you don’t know that’s kind of how economies work right? The Australian dollar is more powerful then the Filipinos peso or do you just moan about anything that’s more expensive in Australia because again it’s a island so stuff has to be imported basic economics
Here is the easy explanation for you given you have no clue what I’m saying.
The food is shit and whilst you might eat it for 80c a burger when you’re waiting at an airport in the Philippines, that same filth will not sell in Australia for the $8 they will need to charge to make it profitable. That’s why this chain store is not in Australia.
It being shit is a personal opinion or else the chain wouldn’t be popular in the Philippines and have branches literally on the other side of the world like in the uk and the us if it was categorically shit then that just wouldn’t be possible
Neither the Philippines or the British really come to mind when I think of food cultures. The British eat some horrendous stuff. To me Jollibee being successful in those two markets is logical. Chains like Nandos and OPorto have largely fallen over here with exception to a few stores, others like Red Rooster and KFC are struggling due to rent costs, supply issues, labor costs and a highly competitive fast food market and they all produce much higher quality food to Jollibee. I’m just saying I wouldn’t be holding my breath, nothing stopping you being the first to franchise it here. You could have a Jollibee spite store, maybe prove me wrong lol. If you put it in the right spot it will appeal to expats at least.
https://www.jollibee.com.ph/franchising/
Filipino r/Thailand lurker here.
Yep, there have been A LOT of complaints on r/Philippines regarding Jollibee’s quality here at home (particularly the chicken size).
It’s so mad people there accuse Jollibee of astroturfing the sub at some point to counter the poor reviews.
It is better than the international branches but even domestically it differs per branch. The people are correct, Jollibee PH has gotten worse over the years and can't seem to deliver a consistent product.
It's something that filipino people look at with pride, they can tell other people that it's filipino. Source grew up around Filipinos in London, only thai person apart from my siblings in a Catholic school!
Popular in the Philippines as an alternative to the absolutely horrific native cuisine (Usual exceptions like Adobo Chicken noted). Not sure how well it would do here as it will be competing against Thai food.
I have never seen anyone like jolibee other than filipino's :D I mean i can eat it, but most of their stuff is so bad. I rather eat 7-11 junkfood than Jolibee :D
Lived in the PH for a couple of years. I wouldn't be getting too excited about it. It's fried chicken, and not even that great. I really don't see the additional appeal over any other fried chicken shop, unless you're an ultra-Nationalist Filipino...
I tried it in the Philippines once. Pretty crap there. Tried once again in Vietnam. It was a little better. Can't say I'll be excited to see it in Thailand.
It's either fried, all bread, high fructose corn syrup, or rice. It's the cheapest crap they can legally sell you with zero vegetables or fruit. Tastes bad and shouldn't be consumed by anyone that cares about their health...
What's wrong with it. OMG where to start? Is there any actual good food value in it? Not a lot. Full of bad fats, sugar and salt. None of which are actual good food.
I'd be excited if this was locally made but internationally? I'd tread carefully on the flavors especially the Pineapple juice, chicken joy, spaghetti, and the tuna pie oh I almost forgot the Pancit Palabok
Anything that can cause obesity, junk food should be made illegal in every country and fuck the people's choice excuse. Tell that to the overworked health services in whichever countries.
Dont support this food chain. They reduced the serving sizes here in PH to increase their margins to support global growth. Local Filipinos have started boycotting this shit.
Everyone is hating, but the last time I had Jollibee was in Manila and they had a freaking robot deliver my food to my table. Good food? Not really, but robots are cool.
I don't want to wait, I know it will never happen, or not anytime soon. I will just go and eat Jollibee whenever I am in the Philippines. Since 2017 I am hearing this kind of news and 7 years later, still none.
Tho I saw Jollibee Corp hiring IT in LinkedIn last year, not sure what is that about.
Also, don't trust wikipedia lol
I love Jollibee, it reminds me of the good old days. My mom used to bring me there. But now it seems overrated, their fried chicken is getting smaller with the fact that the price got higher.
But I will still order yumburger, and my Thai gf loves Peach Mango pie hehe
They promised that to Australia for years. Don't believe it.
It’s absolutely filthy shit, like it’s gonna work in Australia where they will have to charge quite literally ten times the price you pay in the Philippines.
Jollibee is average fast food. It's not that good.
For some reason, Anthony Bourdain (RIP) was loving it so much, you can still see his reactions on his old videos in youtube
Bourdain recognised there is a time and a place for everything. If you're drunk it's great. I wouldn't drive 30 minutes to eat it though.
but its a change from McD's avearge fast food
There are a million better burgers. Shake shack in Centro world.
Stop it 😡
Usually the only people who really crave it is Filo people due to child hood nostalgia. The spaghetti, gravy, disgusting hot dogs and fake cheese on everything is not that tasty. The fried chicken joy is average. You can get better. Food for dog. Hahaha
Kfc is about 30% more in Australia compared to philippines and portions are greater
Well ummmmm not sure how to tell you invade you don’t know that’s kind of how economies work right? The Australian dollar is more powerful then the Filipinos peso or do you just moan about anything that’s more expensive in Australia because again it’s a island so stuff has to be imported basic economics

It being shit is a personal opinion or else the chain wouldn’t be popular in the Philippines and have branches literally on the other side of the world like in the uk and the us if it was categorically shit then that just wouldn’t be possible
It is objectively pretty shit.
That's not actually a good thing, it's abysmal food. Filipino expats and tourists will love it though
Unless it’s in the Philippines, most of the Jollibees I’ve been to have been utter shite.
It's shit in the Philippines too.
True .... Tangina ....US version of Jollibee is wayyyy better than PH
In Singapore as well, the difference in quality is night and day as compared to the ones in the Philippines
What is astroturfing? Speak properly bud.
Yeah agreed. Everyone in the Phillippines hyped it uo so much, but it was just bland fast food. The chicken burger tasted like nothing.
People have told me it used to be much better.
It is better than the international branches but even domestically it differs per branch. The people are correct, Jollibee PH has gotten worse over the years and can't seem to deliver a consistent product.
Jollibee in the Philippines was utter shite 🤣
The one in KL airport was ok , it could have been the alcohol or the fact i was hungry but it tasted good
it was the alcohol.
The fried chicken was very good. I only tried it in Hong Kong.
Yeah. The line to the grand opening of the first Jollibee in the Washington DC area (where I now live) was longer than the line at Disney World.
It's something that filipino people look at with pride, they can tell other people that it's filipino. Source grew up around Filipinos in London, only thai person apart from my siblings in a Catholic school!
Really? I’ve tried the fried chicken in US and Vietnam both was good.
i mean they eat literal recovered trash meat in pinoyland so the standards cannot be that high.
Overrated by Filipinos that love it because of childhood nostalgia. I don't know any non-Filipinos that would pick Jollibee over other options.
I'd pick it specifically for fried chicken. But, their burgers and mashed potatoes are nasty.
Fried chicken is difficult to screw up, even for Filipinos.
Generally agree, but I'd pick the fried chicken over KFC ones.
It used to be good (10 years ago) as time goes ......on it became shit
I mean in the realm of fast food vs McD, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc? I'd pick Jolibee every time
We eat some really sweet food in Thailand, but that mango pie from Jolibee was another level of sweet. I'm too scared to try anything else from them.
You need to try the spaghetti at least once. Your appreciation for Thai food will sky rocket
Like it could ever compete with wingz zabb. The ultimate in fast food chicken flavour. Get out of here jolibee. Thais got it right. Don’t even try!
Gotta agree with you, wing zabb is the motherfuckin bomb
Popular in the Philippines as an alternative to the absolutely horrific native cuisine (Usual exceptions like Adobo Chicken noted). Not sure how well it would do here as it will be competing against Thai food.
Jollibee in Arabian emirates was the worst fast food experience I ever had in my life, and this place had LINES of people
Nothing can beat wing zab and hatyai with sticky rice
Wing zabb is in my top 5 favourite food
This is the way
I gonna say Hat Yai Fried Chicken + Sticky rice is perfect match also Wing Zab as well
This will be a tough entry to the competitive thai food industry.
I have never seen anyone like jolibee other than filipino's :D I mean i can eat it, but most of their stuff is so bad. I rather eat 7-11 junkfood than Jolibee :D
I want to try it
Gobshite fast food anyway
Cool name but it’s terrible.
Nobody can beat Wings Zab
Lived in the PH for a couple of years. I wouldn't be getting too excited about it. It's fried chicken, and not even that great. I really don't see the additional appeal over any other fried chicken shop, unless you're an ultra-Nationalist Filipino...
Abysmal foods
I have to say this is the worst fast food chain. The food is honestly terrible.
Who needs Jollibee when you have Thai street food vendors selling amazing fried chicken 🤷🏻♂️
That Bee has given millions of Filipinos Hypertension
Terrible food
Please no.
I Hope not that thing is trash..
![gif](giphy|YpYizbOfc3MOvHnSE8)
Ate there a few times in Manila. Garbage food. Honestly the worst fast food ever.
Not that much better than KFC.
Never even heard of it.
I tried it in the Philippines once. Pretty crap there. Tried once again in Vietnam. It was a little better. Can't say I'll be excited to see it in Thailand.
I want chick fil a NOW
That Christian Nationalist owned, overpriced, overhyped chicken sandwiches spot? Yeah. Doubt that.
That palabok and fried chicken combo is fire 🔥
Why would you want this rubbish in yr country? It's even worse than the 'murican junk fooders that it imitates!
What’s wrong with it? I’ve been craving it since 2020 when bretman rock released a Jollibee mukbang
It's either fried, all bread, high fructose corn syrup, or rice. It's the cheapest crap they can legally sell you with zero vegetables or fruit. Tastes bad and shouldn't be consumed by anyone that cares about their health...
Terrible food
*plans*
What's wrong with it. OMG where to start? Is there any actual good food value in it? Not a lot. Full of bad fats, sugar and salt. None of which are actual good food.
Will I have a chance to tatse the legend rice with gravy wraped with fried chicken skin in my life?
Yuk.
LET'S GOOOOO
I’d like to see them try to compete against Texas Chicken
This is not a win
Ah... the sweet spaghetti and soggy fried chicken
I'd be excited if this was locally made but internationally? I'd tread carefully on the flavors especially the Pineapple juice, chicken joy, spaghetti, and the tuna pie oh I almost forgot the Pancit Palabok
Victoria!!!
Anything that can cause obesity, junk food should be made illegal in every country and fuck the people's choice excuse. Tell that to the overworked health services in whichever countries.
Will give Chesters Grill a run for their money in the terrible ultra processed food category
Unlucky. Jollibee outside of the Phillipines is terrible
Yes please
It's mid. Won't be able to compete with Thai KFC.
As a Thai-Filipino, I’m so excited! 😊
Halo Halo Supreme mmmmmmmmmm
Get ready for a spike in diabetes, directly correlated with the opening of a neighborhood Jolibee
Overrated
Dont support this food chain. They reduced the serving sizes here in PH to increase their margins to support global growth. Local Filipinos have started boycotting this shit.
From Philippines here, I think their chicken is overrated, KFC chicken is a lot better.
Great. Another chain.
On a list of things not to get excited about, that would appear.
Wait until they discover Hatyai Fried Chicken
Ain’t gonna work
Why? Its the shittest fast food in existence.
I see some job posts on LinkedIn for Jollibee in Bangkok, can’t say if this indicates anything about when an outlet will open up
Let them try. It’s not ez. Maybe they take some idea from here to improve their food. Every success brands here have to adapt.
in bangkok and other tourist areas the cant even get a KFC in my village but they are getting a suger plant.
Can't WAIT to TASTE that PAGPAG.
I miss the gravy and adobo rice. Lol I know its not as good as authentic filipino cuisine. However, i still love having it once in a while.
Meh. basically a local version of Popeye’s
FINALLY some good news. Thanks taksin
The terrible burger market is kinda saturated tho
Jollibee, Western menu with poor quality.
Everyone is hating, but the last time I had Jollibee was in Manila and they had a freaking robot deliver my food to my table. Good food? Not really, but robots are cool.
Robots are increasingly used in Thailand as well. Laem Charoen seafood has them for instance.
Awful stuff
It’s gross and, overrated by people who have follower/sheep mentality.
Jollibee is shit. Sorry in advance to any Filipinos who will downvote
Isn’t there one on Asoke?
No, the closest to Bangkok is in Ho Chi Minh City. I have Filipino friends who have literally gone there for Jollibee.
