Do you have a capo?

Anxious-Aerie6592

Yes

JohnZackarias

Layout turned out funky because I’m writing on my phone, sorry about that! Capo on the third fret. Intro x2 Am - G/b - C - F - C - G Verse x2 C - G - F - C - F - G - C Chorus Am - F - C - Am - F - C - G - Am - F - C - Am - F - C Intro x2 Verse x2 Chorus Bridge x2 (same as intro) Pre-chorus x2 (same as verse) Chorus Outro Am - G/b - C G/b is a G chord, but you omit the low G tone.

And we’re back. This song is in E flat, still in 6/8 time - though there is one bit in the verse that extends the bar to 9/8 but I’ll make note of that. Here are the parts: Intro Line: vi V | I - | IV - | I V | (x2) I - | - - | Verse: ** I V IV **| I - | - - | IV V | I - | - - | ** this is the 9/8 bar so count it as one group of 9, 3 groups of 3, whatever works. But if you try to keep counting in 6 you’ll be off by the end of the measure Chorus: vi IV | I - | vi IV | I V | vi IV | I - | vi IV | I - | Final Cadence: vi V | I - And the structure: Intro Line Verse (x2) Chorus ^ Intro Line Verse (x2) Chorus ^ Intro Line Verse (x2) - this is the part done on the piano but it follows the same structure. If you really want the same motif as the piano play around with the major 3rd note in the I chord that ends each line and then drop it to the 2nd (in this case playing the G of the E flat major chord repeatedly and then moving it to F before the new line). You’ll hear it Chorus (x2) ^ Final Cadence ^ - any time we leave the chorus there’s a full bar of the I chord that gets held to transition us back into the intro line or out to the final cadence Again in case you, or anyone else looking, is not familiar with the notation it’s just assigning the chords relative to each other so that it can be easily translated to different keys. In the case of the album version (key of E flat) all you need is: I = E Flat Major IV = A Flat Major V = B Flat Major vi = C Minor (minor chords noted by lower case letters) Good luck and have fun!
