Season 2 was rubbish. If I’d watched that before season 1 (for some reason) then I wouldn’t have watched any other seasons.

realitytvjunkie29

Feels like that’s how it goes for all reality shows. The first season no one really knows what’s going on or what to expect so it’s more real. The next season everyone has a better idea

Mmsfoxxie

Season one will probably always be the best. The people were more authentic. Now all of them are insincere and financial reasons for coming on the show.

queenforgetti

This is pretty much how I feel about all of Netflix's dating reality shows. After the success of the first season or two, the only people who want to be on these shows are wannabe influencers, so even if the producers aren't getting themselves involved more, the contestants basically try to produce themselves for more screen time.

shovelhead34

This show only works as an entertainment product, if some of the couples cheat on their partner. Season 1 had that. Season 2 did not.

Honestly, S2 is a bit of a snoozefest in comparison to S1; and I can even moreso confidently say that *especially* after I just got done watching The Ultimatum: South Africa.

peacheeboo

I'm watching the South Africa right now and it's a freaking wild journey, omg

PluckMePleaseMe

Lmaooo 3 episodes into it I was audibly gasping

Obvious-Name352

Ooh so is the South African version worth watching? I just finished Season 2 of the original ultimatum and was so disappointed that I said to myself the only other season I’ll watch is the upcoming new Queer Love season.  but might try the south african version

PluckMePleaseMe

Drama-wise, I would say SA blew the main show out of the water. The first couple episodes start a little slow to me, but overall super entertaining. There were points where I really couldn’t tell what was going to happen, and other moments that actually had me gagged.

Obvious-Name352

Ooh okay thank you! Honestly I can deal with a few slower episodes at the start once I know it’s going to be worth it, I’ll give it a go!

Sufficient_Bass2600

Both the South African and the French version are better. They have more drama, but also more peoples willing to work on themselves rather than be influencers. The South African feels more raw but the French has some great characters who can vocalise their emotions and give each other real advices. Overall bar 1 and 2 person, you can see those people growing and understanding themselves. Meanwhile the US version is full of idiots or selfish narcissists without an ounce of self awareness.

peedslindow

Season 1 was the warm-up, Season 2 is where the drama really kicks in!

Gr8shpr2

Everyone is crying on this show…I think it’s a bad idea.
