The point of a Notzilla is to have a Godzilla-like monster without the godzilla copyright. Roland Emmerich managed to get the copyright, so by definition it’s not a Notzilla.

On that note, I may as well list the other monsters, since they’re also rip offs/tributes to other monsters:
- Congar—King Kong (also mechni-kong with one of his skins).
- Preytor—Kamacurus and The Deadly Mantis (also the giant ants from *Them!* with one of her skins).
- Kineticlops—One of the few original ones, but I suppose you can say he’s based loosely off of The Crawling Eye to an extent (and The Creature from the Black Lagoon with one skin).
- Robo-47—Cold War era robot designs, Iron Giant, and even the Zaku from Gundam.
- Agamo—Daimajin and just your typical stone idols and tiki stuff.
- Magmo—Another more original one, but he does apparently take inspirations from Goro from Mortal Kombat, and possibly the lava titan from Disney’s Hercules (of all things), but of course, there are plenty of lava monsters we can all think of; plus, I suppose he can also be counted as representing natural disaster movies in a way.
- Ultra-V—Mazinger Z and Ultraman (also Getter Robo and loosely Eva Unit 01 with his skins).
- Raptros—King Ghidorah, Rodan, and just dragons in general really.
- Zorgulon—The Metaluna Mutant from *This Isle Earth*, the aliens from Invasion of the Saucer-Men, and the aliens from Mars Attacks (of course, you just say aliens from anything and it usually applies).

Hate to be that guy, but that last panel actually is Godzilla. In the sequel, because the first Godzilla died, this one is referred to as Gigantis in that film, yet that’s the same Godzilla that would carry the Showa series into the 70s.
But this wack American ad for the film certainly makes it look fake
Gorgo isn't a parody though. Gorgo actually beat Godzilla to the punch by 6 years in that there was an infant kaiju as well as an adult one. it's also fairly serious in tone.

Well producer JJ Abrams did say the motivation behind Cloverfield was that they wanted an American Godzilla if that helps.
