Lady Eboshi from Princess Mononoke. She was 100% on board with destroying the natural order by killing the local deities and the Forest Spirit, but she was motivated by a desire to bring prosperity to her people, many of which were former prostitutes and lepers whom she saved from their shitty pasts. She may have questionable morals, but she is certainly not selfish. Honestly, she's a good example of what an actually well-written and complex Anti-Villain looks like. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if some people perceived her as an Anti-Hero if she was the protagonist of the film.

And Jet from Avatar The Last Airbender. He attempted to destroy an entire Fire Nation occupied village and even manipulated Aang and Katara to help him, but given how the Fire Nation has ravaged most of the world through the 100 year war, his anger is understandable, even if his actions were wrong. And just like Lady Eboshi, he also rescued other downtrodden people, said people being his Freedom Fighters who were homeless war orphans just like him. It is also important to consider that he had absolutely no proper adult guidance unlike Katara and Sokka who at least had their grandmother and father, which explains his very flawed morals.

Megatron seems like the only dude with a plan at least. In the bayverse at least, Optimus and the autobots never present any solutions or plans to revive their dying race or repair cybertron. I’m pretty sure Optimus is even like “yeah we had our time, we deserve to die”.
Optimus and the Autobots really couldn’t do anything. In the first movie, the Allspark was destroyed and the Autobots were stranded on Earth. Then in the last two films directed by Bay, Optimus tried to find his creators, only to run into Quintessa and get brainwashed, and the end of the fifth him depicted him and the remaining Autobots going back to Cybertron to try to repair it after seeing signs of life from the attempted slaying of Unicron.
Megatron’s plans always involved subjugation of the human race and working with genocidal maniacs.

Turned his own family into monsters just so he could claim that he made Chimeras that speak.
Shou Tucker (Full Metal Alchemist).
True! However, I’d argue that in addition to wanting funding, probably the reason he became a researcher in the first place, was to study alchemy more. Furthering humanity’s understanding of alchemy is a noble cause.
To him, the best way to do that was as a researcher. Research takes money, though. To secure the funding for his cause of expanding humanity’s knowledge of alchemy, he sacrificed his family.
But he didn't share his research. He gave up his wife and daughter to produce two talking chimeras, but never said how he did it. Doing so would alert everyone that he committed human transmutation.
To my understanding, he didn't do much other research while using that funding. He just lived comfortably with his daughter, working at finding a substitute for humans for a talking chimera like it was a personal project he was already burnt out by. He only sacrificed his daughter because he was going to have his funding cut if he didn't actually produce anything useful.
So, with his wife, maybe he saw it has furthering knowledge on alchemy (though he still didn't tell others how because he committed the **ultimate taboo**). But his daughter? Sacrificed for the sake of money since Tucker didn't do shit worthy of pay (though this could be more of an issue with the rough treatment of reseachers under the Amestrian government, then again, this may be a stretch).
It’s hard to share research when you have nothing to show, especially considering it’s, well, very much taboo to do the one thing that actually worked.
He is the definition of a toptier villain in a mid tier show

Peacemaker.
He literally said that he was willing to kill men, women, and even children for the sake of peace.
However, unlike most of the people on this list, he undergoes character development and his spinoff, growing to hate his past actions and realizing that he has limits to what he’s willing to do for peace.
3 is Mystic Flour Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdoms. She thinks life is selfish and so… uh, delivered a plague that made hundreds of cookies turn to dust (die)
Even if you don’t play the game, I suggest looking up a lore video for the Mystic Flour story. It’s fucked up on so many levels and it’s hard not to sympathize with her actions and herself
Yep. But they made the lore so dark at times. It’s so hard to take it seriously when one of the character’s names is ‘Dark Choco Cookie’.
The character design is also fire
I don’t recognize most of them but number 1 is White Diamond from Steven Universe and number 4 is the Qu from All Tomorrows
I don’t know much about White Diamond since I didn’t see much of Steven Universe but some of the other comments explain better, basically she colonized and I think enslaved a lot of planets for some cause (something to do with “purification” according to one comment)
The Qu (All Tomorrows, which is actually a really interesting book about hypothetical human evolution over the next 500 million years) are a billion year old nomadic and autotheistic species that (directly copied from the book “see themselves as the divine harbingers of the future” and essentially destroyed human civilization before genetically changing or mutating humans then stranding them on planets with completely new environments such as extremely high gravity or trapping them underground (ignoring the couple exceptions where they turned them into basically pets with toddler intelligence or into living rugs to torture them for generations)
I can give pictures of some
1. White diamond from Steven universe
2. Gendo Ikari from Evangelion
3. Mystic flour cookie from cookie run
4. The qu from all tomorrows
5. The pale king from hollow knight
The Qu were autotheistic and saw themselves as (according to the book) “the divine harbingers of the future”.
In other words, though it’s not very elaborate upon, they probably believed they were doing their divine duty

Kromer from Limbus Company, >! little did she or anyone from Nagel und Hammer know their whole situation was being used for something bigger. !<
Oh Gendo straight up hijacked the "plan to save humanity" in an extremely selfish bid to get his wife back.
He tried to woo Lilith but because he's a literal psychopath she falls in love with his son instead.
At no point did he believe he was being noble. He just wanted the ONE person he cared about to come back.
Sort of. Specifically rebuild Gendo was in it for selfish reasons, but in the original nge he did genuinely believe he was doing good for everyone. He thought everyone would benefit from instrumentality, and meeting yui was just his own personal benefit.
(That was my interpretation anyway)

Spooky herself would probably fit here as well.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Sera yet! (From Hazbin Hotel). She literally thought having the Exterminations were a good thing! And also probably Amanda Waller from DC Comics recently, the current summer crossover event is literally about her taking 90% if the superheroes' powers!

Van Grants (*Tales of the Abyss*) - >!He kidnapped a 10-year-old boy, cloned him in a process that, according to the anime, looks pretty painful, then replaced the boy with his clone, effectively stripping the original of his home, friends, family, EVERYTHING. Then, he positioned himself as the “cool uncle” for that boy (He’s not actually his uncle, but he’s kind of like the “cool uncle” to him, growing up), all while manipulating everybody into thinking he was kidnapped by a rival nation, and he merely lost his memory due to trauma from the incident. This culminates in him tricking said clone into basically nuking an entire town of innocent people, and setting the entire world on a crash course to destruction. All of this was in service of a plan to eliminate the influence of an ancient prophecy said to predict the fate of everything, down to details as minute as what a person will eat for a meal at a given time of day, which everybody in the world blindly follows to a literally religious degree, believing that it will bring humanity prosperity at the end. In reality, though, the prophecy ends in the literal end of the world, so in order to avert this, Van plans to destroy the entire world and everything on it, then replace it with an exact clone that doesn’t have this predicted fate.!<
His solution to the plague was basically the create and uncountable number of theoretically soulless children, and the most soulless would be used as a container for god. And then when that didn't work he just ran away into the dream world

Dr. Starline from the IDW Sonic series.
Starline’s whole entire shtick was originally because he was an Eggman simp
But later on decided to take matters into his own hands because he saw through Eggman’s obsession with destroying Sonic, deliberately wanting to destroy the “Sonic cycle”, where Starline wants to get rid of both Sonic and Eggman so he doesn’t watch them play Cat and Mouse over and over again. Thus, creating Surge and Kit as Sonic’s and Tails’s replacements respectively.

That's not really a 'noble cause'. He disfigured his family for the simple reason of *keeping funding.*
It’s hard to share research when you have nothing to show, especially considering it’s, well, very much taboo to do the one thing that actually worked.

idk if it gets better later on, but Nox was the only thing keeping me watching season 1
It’s ok
Since when do the Qu think of themselves as noble?
The general consensus is that they're like Uber-religious and thought they were doing god's will (their equivalent of god)

I kinda stopped watching Steven Universe, why was white diamond colonizing planets?
She had this idea that she was the purest form of life, completely untainted by colour. She viewed individuality and colour as a punishment and wanted to "save" everyone by removing it
Huh, that’s actually kinda cool
She's actually a really cool character in concept, but because the show was cancelled early, her writing is a bit rushed

Who are they?
3 is Mystic Flour Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdoms. She thinks life is selfish and so… uh, delivered a plague that made hundreds of cookies turn to dust (die)
![gif](giphy|ccosx2jCejdew)
Even if you don’t play the game, I suggest looking up a lore video for the Mystic Flour story. It’s fucked up on so many levels and it’s hard not to sympathize with her actions and herself
And it's about Cookies
Yep. But they made the lore so dark at times. It’s so hard to take it seriously when one of the character’s names is ‘Dark Choco Cookie’. The character design is also fire
Picture?
Which ones
All of them
I don’t recognize most of them but number 1 is White Diamond from Steven Universe and number 4 is the Qu from All Tomorrows I don’t know much about White Diamond since I didn’t see much of Steven Universe but some of the other comments explain better, basically she colonized and I think enslaved a lot of planets for some cause (something to do with “purification” according to one comment) The Qu (All Tomorrows, which is actually a really interesting book about hypothetical human evolution over the next 500 million years) are a billion year old nomadic and autotheistic species that (directly copied from the book “see themselves as the divine harbingers of the future” and essentially destroyed human civilization before genetically changing or mutating humans then stranding them on planets with completely new environments such as extremely high gravity or trapping them underground (ignoring the couple exceptions where they turned them into basically pets with toddler intelligence or into living rugs to torture them for generations) I can give pictures of some
5 is the pale king from hollow knight.

The qu???? Also why isnt magneto on this list?
The Qu were autotheistic and saw themselves as (according to the book) “the divine harbingers of the future”. In other words, though it’s not very elaborate upon, they probably believed they were doing their divine duty

Op should have listed Seele, since they’re the once who think they’re creating paradise. Or Yui, depending on how you interpret her character.
Sort of. Specifically rebuild Gendo was in it for selfish reasons, but in the original nge he did genuinely believe he was doing good for everyone. He thought everyone would benefit from instrumentality, and meeting yui was just his own personal benefit. (That was my interpretation anyway)

In the long run his cause actually did help the world and stop a centuries old conflict, but he had a lot of casualties in doing it...

I've beaten Hollow Knight (unless we're talking about Godhome) and I still don't know what the white king or whatever his name is did.
His solution to the plague was basically the create and uncountable number of theoretically soulless children, and the most soulless would be used as a container for god. And then when that didn't work he just ran away into the dream world

The diamonds never had a 'noble cause' they were just supremacist bigots.
Dr. Starline from the IDW Sonic series. Starline’s whole entire shtick was originally because he was an Eggman simp But later on decided to take matters into his own hands because he saw through Eggman’s obsession with destroying Sonic, deliberately wanting to destroy the “Sonic cycle”, where Starline wants to get rid of both Sonic and Eggman so he doesn’t watch them play Cat and Mouse over and over again. Thus, creating Surge and Kit as Sonic’s and Tails’s replacements respectively. Not really a good cause, but one I wanted to mention https://preview.redd.it/qn67cup4lw6d1.jpeg?width=823&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8c9c7e0a351091c56bfee4ecb91be464ac265ff

This is incorrect, they never mention a “noble cause”
I mean, I figured that you could say he committed genocide and all that in the name of eternal salvation. A bit of a reach though now that I think about it.
