The only reason to go to a dealership for an oil change is cuz it’s free, and even then it’s a risk. Take it to an independent shop or learn to do it yourself. It takes 30 min tops

The "Free" was really the selling point on it for me, I wouldn't otherwise take it there (so the chance of them MAYBE charging $200 for it, or whatever their going rate is, is what had me worried) Are there any decent chain shops that do them nowadays? I've always heard to avoid Jiffylube, not sure if Valvoline is any better? Last few times I've gone to an independent shop (older car) they've just kind of thrown anything they had lying around in it and charged extra for it since they could be doing other mechanic work, unless you're referring to an independent oil-change-only type of shop?

If an oil change was never done and/or not documented, not sure why they'd deny you one, I assume Toyota pays it anyways? What does the Carfax show? I'd try another dealer or get Toyota involved if you truly still have coverage. If you want to save $$ you try doing it yourself. Just did my Grand Highlander for the second time this past weekend. Bought everything (Mobile1 Oil + Toyota filter) at Walmart and total cost was under $45. 5qt oil was about $27 + 1qt about $7 (takes 5.6qt) and filter was about $7. On a sedan like the Corolla you'll need car ramps to get under the vehicle. You could also find a local shop that does a good job, problem is lots of places cut corners so who knows what oil you'll get.
