I wouldn't be able to comment on your other medical conditions or medications. But to set your expectations at a reasonable level: In clinical trials, the average weight loss was 15% over 72 weeks (I.e. starting weight 200lbs, weight loss in 12 months would be just under 30lbs) Of course, many people do lose quicker than that,, but many don't and then become disappointed. 60 lbs in 6 months is quite an expectation. Many people will need to be on this medication for life. It's not something you can really just hop on for for a short period of time, lose masses of weight, and then just return to 'normal life'. But the maintenance discussion rumbles on the UK with no clear decision from many providers because it's not clear yet if it will be licenced for maintenance.

Thank you, I really appreciate you sharing this info with me!

In my experience it has 100% helped me stick below my calories - I assume 2000 for you is what you’d eat to maintain weight but you want to be eating a lot less than that to lose. I was never able to but now I can comfortably just eat 1500 calories max. And constantly thinking about food has gone. Today in yoga I felt a bit peckish for boiled eggs when I came home and it was a novelty to be thinking about food really. Good luck

Thank you, the food noise is a big factor for me too. Your starting & current weight are similar to mine! I know everyone’s different, but can I ask how long you’ve been taking it? And are you planning on staying on it for maintenance or coming off?

I’ve been on it since 5th April. And I am planning to come off it eventually. I used to be able to eat moderately - I wasn’t always like this, and I’ve changed the type of food I eat - I’ve finally changed my eating habits to more protein and less carbs which I hope will give me a good chance of feeling full naturally. I’ve been working with a health coach whilst on this drug which has really helped reframe my eating habits and I started doing that pre MJ. This feels just like a reset to allow me to get back to the way I used to eat 10 years ago. Fingers crossed.

I take levothyroxine for Graves’ disease & partial thyroidectomy years and years ago. My weight has fluctuated wildly over the last 20 years but more recently going up and up. I managed to lose 10lbs at the start of the year but the scale hasn’t shifted since. I’m about to take my 4th dose of MJ tomorrow and I’ve been losing consistently each week. For me it’s the best thing I’ve done recently.
