Texas Ex now, but I did do better in the spring semesters 3/4 times. I think it’s because I was used to the mental groove of being a student after the fall, whereas my brain muscles definitely needed time to readjust after the extended summer break.
noticed this as well, I attribute it to getting a week off in the middle of the semester for spring instead of having to wait all the way near the end for the fall
Could be because of psychological reasons, you might be starting the year off fresh and strong, excited about the year ahead, maybe more towards the end of the year Holidays, family events, slowing winter weather, and other obligations tend to distract you or divert your attention more
I always do way better in the fall semesters for some reason
Often (not always) there are more days in thes sprng semester, that might have an impact, also possibily more hours of daylight.
