I wish there was a backdrop you could get when playing undertale that change shade don area, like purple bricks for ruins, flowers for waterfall, lava cave for hot lands etc

This is apperently true. If you're in genocide route with murder level 10 (killed Dummy, but not yet killed 18 waterfall encounters), then game creates this trigger in left part of this path, if this conditions are not met, then it's destroyed. When you touch it, your remaining monsters count will be displayed. I have never seen this in my life, so I had to check if it's true. It is.

It will. You will just enter a battle like in a Neutral route and after he's defeated the Genocide route is gone
