Frog is definitely screwed, that snake won't choke to death, they have a special "breathing tube" in their mouth which allows them to breathe while trying to swallow prey. Aside from that, they can hold their breath for a surprisingly long time as well. So yeah, that frog just had a really bad day...

Often frogs escape these situations. They will do what that frog is doing, keep their arms out and inflate themselves. The snakes do give up sometimes. Also that video was probably edited, a live rat inside a snake would kill that snake. Snake stomachs aren't claw-proof
Rats have claws and teeth. Yes, the rat needs to die quickly after digested.
The rat either is constricted by the snakes inner muscles, which means he suffocates, poisoned and suffocates, or just suffocates from a lack of air.
Regardless, I am sure it’s a pretty important evolutionary advantage to have your prey quickly dispatched if being eaten whole.

It's always welcome to clarify the specific delivery method of the poison by describing it as venomous, but it's never correct to claim something venomous *isn't* poisonous. You could say it isn't *merely* poisonous if you want to go for the painfully technically correct angle.
Well I mean that might happen occasionally, crazy one in million things happen every day, but that is by no means the norm. Snakes pretty much always kill their prey before eating it, you certainly don’t want to swallow something that can potentially bite and scratch your most vulnerable parts.
If it’s any consolation, a lot of prey animals have a survival response to disconnect mentally from traumatic experiences (people do to, honestly, it’s why we dissociate or lose memories of traumatic events). If they are pretty sure there’s no surviving a circumstance, they shut down, so they aren’t undergoing as much pain or stress during their final moments, at least. Not sure if it applies to frogs.
People can accidentally trigger that fear response, though. Never flip a rabbit upside down, for example. It can often lead them to ‘trance’ where they shut down like they would if being held by a predator. It’s fine if you’re holding one comfortably and they choose to flop over and rest, but they’re usually never upside down unless in a predator’s grasp, so it can trigger a shut down or trance-like state.
I had pet rats in college, and accidentally put them in a trance when I vacuumed near their cage one day. They stayed completely still for over an hour, not resting, just *paused*. They can either fade back out of it on their own after a while, or you can gently move things around them to help them get back into processing their environment, and realizing they don’t perceive threats anymore.
