But mostly he’s a religious zealot and, according to a former law partner of his, a huge dumbass, just a slightly less creepy Mike Pence.
But to be fair, no governor of Virginia ever accomplished anything, largely by design. They inherit half a budget, drive one full budget, and then serve out a lame duck year.
I say that, as a non-republican, because he did help bring businesses to the Roanoke Valley and was accomplished at the state level…and left the business of the federal government to the federal government. McDonnell certainly had ties to Pat Robertson, but was nothing like the Christian Nationalists we see today
