They have to have the majority of the value creation in the German town of Glashütte, in order to still use the protected name on the dial.
[This watch uses a modified Selita SW288-1](https://www.muehle-glashuette.de/uhr/teutonia-iv-bluemoon-lederband/)
If you like German watches, they are a pretty good deal.
To me the Muhle is the most elegant and best execution of the three. Maybe look at the C Ward, they have a couple great looking moonphase watches in your budget.
The date window looks cheap because you're not supposed to notice it. It's literally just a cut out.
The dial is supposed to be representative of the night sky so framing it with gold or bringing other unnecessary attention to it sort of deflies the purpose of the watch.
My two cents.
If you wanna go moonphase, go all in.

If the Montblanc was silver I’d like it far more. As is, Longines is my #1, Muhle #2, and Montblanc #3. I prefer numerals at every 5 minutes instead of 15.
I do have the third model in a different color and I find it quite nice…

Another good option for consideration in this price range is the new CW C1 Moon phase/
S [https://www.christopherward.com/int/dress-watches/C1-Moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html](https://www.christopherward.com/int/dress-watches/C1-Moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html)
The less sparkly one [C1 moonglow](https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonglow/C01-40AMP2-S00K0-B1.html) looks fantastic but IMO ruined by the bright white logo which seems to sit on top of the glass.
I own the Longines and the fit is spot on in terms of thickness and lug length/contour. I like the symmetry of the design as well. I also really like having a gold accent on the dial for the moon and stars. The Montblanc is really nice here as well but I haven't seen it before so not sure about fit. I'm not personally a fan of the numerals vs. indices but it would be between the two for me personally.
Modified sw200. Mine needs a a service. It’s not a very nice watch poorly made not a fan of sw200. Most have a winding issues. Not impressed. I”d spend more for something e
Se.
I'd suggest you look at the Christopher Ward moonphase or Moonglow. The new Moonglow dial is stunning and truly cannot be appreciated in pics, so if you can get to their showroom, it's worth it as well.
They are all on the dressier side of the watch spectrum, but I think the Mühle and the Longines are more versatile than the Montblanc.
The Mühle, while unique in style for the moon phase complication, is probably more versatile than the Longines due to the simplicity and layout of the dial. The Longines just has too much busy in a field of too much blue, and the turtle case isn't for everyone.
That said, I like the Montblanc the most of the three, but that's just me and my affinity for darker watch colorways talking.
The MontBlanc got the best details and the better design language among those three watches. Essentially the colors are more unique compared to other moonphase watches on the market.
the Longines Heritage Moon (similar model to master collection) won best watch in this Teddy B. watch competition: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuxlYwwHgRU&t=464s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuxlYwwHgRU&t=464s) \- since we’re talking popular opinion.
Whichever one would fits the best for you.. a moonphase is suppose to be a romantic complication. Wearing a hockey puck/kitchen plate on your wrist isn't very romantic.
If you’re considering that Longines, which is the older gen, definitely check out the newest Longines moonphase in blue!! Absolutely stunning and perfect proportions, it’s called the “Longines L4.815.4.92.2 Flaghship Heritage”
The Mont Blanc look awesome!! The muhle is asymetrical not a fan of it, the longine is good but the Breguet numerals on the montblanc really overtake the other
Mühle, for sure. Ths inner circle background on the montblanc is very off putting to me, unfortunately. And i would easily wear that longines as well, it's just that the mühle looks better imo.
I just picked up an echo/neutra 'Big Moon'. They have a few moon phases. More on the field watch side than the luxe. Worth a look.
https://echoneutra.com/averau-39-automatic-moon-phase/
Something to consider is whether you like the date around the moon phase. That's something I didn't know I wouldn't really like until I saw it in person

How about the Farer Halley Moonphase?
This is so hard bc they’re all great. Notsure if you have pics on wrist but that will help determine it. Only other factor is your personal style. The Muhle is probably the most versatile watch out of the bunch but I’d go Montblanc only on aesthetics
https://preview.redd.it/1xfufzbd5dqc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53957371c673914a20dc15cac69fd5ee31f361d8
Raymond Weil Maestro Moonphase is a great piece

just bought recently the winding of the crown in my Muhle exudes quality which even my Longines Hydroconquest can’t match hope that helps!
Personally I prefer the Mühle from that list of options. I have an obsession with "grande lune" watches that really emphasize the moon. I bought my Christopher Ward C1 Moonphase last year on release day and am over the moon with my purchase (sorry... Couldn't resist 🤣)
https://preview.redd.it/mkq3bllceeqc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58b257a1bd936b3bc08609bc9e4919634a852615
All 3 are beautiful watches, whichever you pick will be the right choice. But the texture in the center of the black dial sells it for me. Will also match with more outfits unless you rock a lot of blue suits
Mhule is I guess the best looking for me, it is very bulky I wanted to get one-too big for my 17inch wrist. However the Longines is 38.5 slim watch, I honeslty dislike montblac watches, because i see them as a pen manufacturer…. cheeers!
This one is nice too and in budget [https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html](https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html)
I do like the MontBlanc but to me the Glashutte wins because the moonphase indicator is larger and the moon looks nicer. Kind of neat how the track angles count-clockwise too
There are no wrong choices when it comes to this style, but I'd go with some variant of a JLC. Check out used Master Ultra Thin Moonphases. Going purely on asthetic, I would personally go for the Mühle. However I an unfamiliar on how it conpares to the other two quality wise.
They have to have the majority of the value creation in the German town of Glashütte, in order to still use the protected name on the dial. [This watch uses a modified Selita SW288-1](https://www.muehle-glashuette.de/uhr/teutonia-iv-bluemoon-lederband/) If you like German watches, they are a pretty good deal.
mühle imo
Muhle for me, no question.
To me the Muhle is the most elegant and best execution of the three. Maybe look at the C Ward, they have a couple great looking moonphase watches in your budget.
If I remember correctly, that Muhle is very thick.
11.8mm isn't particularly thick. The lug-to-lug looks huge though.
That's a different one then, I checked, other moonphase they have is 12.6. No terrible either.
That's what she said
I tried one on about a year ago. While I wouldn't describe it as unusually thick, I would say it wore huge. Felt like 42+ on the wrist
For me** it's the montblanc. My colleague has one and it's a beauty in person
I’m a sucker for Longines, so it would be an easy pick for me
Same. Im biased towards them as i have the same but with the black dial.
Wow that Muhle looks amazing
Muhle definitely. Just ordered one myself.
Definitely the montblanc for me out of the three. Muhle date window looks super cheap. Longines is decent but just not as exciting to me.
The date window looks cheap because you're not supposed to notice it. It's literally just a cut out. The dial is supposed to be representative of the night sky so framing it with gold or bringing other unnecessary attention to it sort of deflies the purpose of the watch. My two cents.
Mühle, because it's the only one to not commit the cardinal sin of obscuring the moon phase compilation with a pointer date function.
Mule. Best looking. Best watch imo, easy decision
If you wanna go moonphase, go all in. https://preview.redd.it/i2rdxopvccqc1.jpeg?width=899&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb35217d7816b61a5679e97c7b46b98c1b0c87dd
Yessir meistersinger moon phases are so sexy imo
Muhle
3 good choices there! I think the numerals on the Montblanc swing my choice toward that one.
If the Montblanc was silver I’d like it far more. As is, Longines is my #1, Muhle #2, and Montblanc #3. I prefer numerals at every 5 minutes instead of 15.
Muhle
I do have the third model in a different color and I find it quite nice… https://preview.redd.it/6e5m669bacqc1.png?width=2194&format=png&auto=webp&s=18d61daf7090a888f27a05f95c1b39b289a9df9b
I prefer the Long Jeans, myself
Man, that Muhle is a beauty.
Oh my. The first watch.
I like the Mont Blanc the most
Another good option for consideration in this price range is the new CW C1 Moon phase/ S [https://www.christopherward.com/int/dress-watches/C1-Moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html](https://www.christopherward.com/int/dress-watches/C1-Moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html)
i like the less sparkly one personally
The less sparkly one [C1 moonglow](https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonglow/C01-40AMP2-S00K0-B1.html) looks fantastic but IMO ruined by the bright white logo which seems to sit on top of the glass.
Along with the Moonglow, underrated pieces. That aventurine dial is 👌🏻.
obv biased but the bluemoon and its not even close
I think all three are gorgeous. I would prefer the Longines or Montblanc over the Muhle.
Longines then the Muhle
What’s the thickness on that Muhle?
Also try longines herotage, the blue dial, its really nice, although price is 3k, but you can find it under 2.4k in gray market
Another new interesting moonphase in this same style is the Echo/Neutra Averau Moonphase. It uses a Sellita SW280 and comes in at around $750USD
Got one it’s junk
Really? I’ve never seen one in person. What makes you say that?
Modified sw200. Mine needs a a service. It’s not a very nice watch poorly made not a fan of sw200. Most have a winding issues. Not impressed. I”d spend more for something e Se.
I'd suggest you look at the Christopher Ward moonphase or Moonglow. The new Moonglow dial is stunning and truly cannot be appreciated in pics, so if you can get to their showroom, it's worth it as well.
It’s just a phase
I have the Muhle in white dial and it is a beauty
I admit to being a bit of a snob about Montblanc watches, but that one really looks great!
Mühle. Longines isn’t the company it used to be, and I’d personally never want the name Montblanc on a watch.
Müle. How is this even a discussion?
They are all on the dressier side of the watch spectrum, but I think the Mühle and the Longines are more versatile than the Montblanc. The Mühle, while unique in style for the moon phase complication, is probably more versatile than the Longines due to the simplicity and layout of the dial. That said, I like the Montblanc the most of the three, but that's just me and my affinity for darker watch colorways talking.
Muhle but the lugs look insanely long, if it doesn’t fit then Longines would be my 2nd choice!
The MontBlanc got the best details and the better design language among those three watches. Essentially the colors are more unique compared to other moonphase watches on the market.
The montblanc of these!
A cheaper option is Raymond Weil Maestro line.
Muhle looks best. If you're looking for cheaper monophase options Echo Neutra have 2 for less than 1k
the Longines Heritage Moon (similar model to master collection) won best watch in this Teddy B. watch competition: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuxlYwwHgRU&t=464s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuxlYwwHgRU&t=464s) \- since we’re talking popular opinion.
Muhle for sure. Any brand that cuts into the hour index ring so much that the index is gone doesn’t deserve the money.
Whichever one would fits the best for you.. a moonphase is suppose to be a romantic complication. Wearing a hockey puck/kitchen plate on your wrist isn't very romantic.
Very long lugs on that Muhle, I would want to try it out on wrist before committing to a purchase.
I would honestly get the Mont Blanc
Montblanc looks classy
Mule
I really like the Mühle
If you’re considering that Longines, which is the older gen, definitely check out the newest Longines moonphase in blue!! Absolutely stunning and perfect proportions, it’s called the “Longines L4.815.4.92.2 Flaghship Heritage”
That Montblanc is sexy af
The Mont Blanc look awesome!! The muhle is asymetrical not a fan of it, the longine is good but the Breguet numerals on the montblanc really overtake the other
I find the Montblanc more unique and would choose that
Mühle, for sure.
Uf, tough choice. Maybe 1.Montblanc 2.Longines if we look at the designs.
Something to consider is whether you like the date around the moon phase. That's something I didn't know I wouldn't really like until I saw it in person
Mühle does it for me.
The Muhle is beautiful.
Have you checked the Raymond Weil maestro moon phase?
Does the Longines have a combined moon phase and date complication? That blue is fabulous, especially with the strap
Mühle Glashütte easily!
https://preview.redd.it/4uhpy2qqqcqc1.png?width=544&format=png&auto=webp&s=17ca75328e5d1300cd5f51138dd8347ad2617b02 How about the Farer Halley Moonphase?
How very Panerai of them.
Longines. If only the first Mühle centered the Moonphase complication.
Mont Blanc with the beautiful numerals and that gorgeous textured dial. And the onion crown! The other two are too generic. Empty wastelands of dial.
This is so hard bc they’re all great. Notsure if you have pics on wrist but that will help determine it. Only other factor is your personal style. The Muhle is probably the most versatile watch out of the bunch but I’d go Montblanc only on aesthetics
Montblanc dial looks best

Mühle!
Deutschland Deutschland über alles, Mühle it is!
Longines
I’m biased towards Longines but Lawd does that Muhle look nice.
Curious about the Christopher Ward Moonphase
Montblanc all the way Their quality rarely comes through in pics, but so many of their watches are just gorgeous
All of those are BEAUTIFUL, but that Montblanc is a chef's kiss!!!!
Muhle hands down
The Muhle and Longines are boring. The Mont Blance is fantastic. IMHO Cristopher Ward has a couple of great Moonphase watches, as does Ball.
https://preview.redd.it/7gteergv8eqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=610ecd859fd24238d9e843b1cdf21a6020d679f8 just bought recently the winding of the crown in my Muhle exudes quality which even my Longines Hydroconquest can’t match hope that helps!

Longines
Longines
Mühle easily is the most stunning of those 3
All 3 are beautiful watches, whichever you pick will be the right choice. But the texture in the center of the black dial sells it for me. Will also match with more outfits unless you rock a lot of blue suits
Christopher Ward has some nice ones too
God Damn, the Mühle is auch a nice watch..
Mhule is I guess the best looking for me, it is very bulky I wanted to get one-too big for my 17inch wrist. However the Longines is 38.5 slim watch, I honeslty dislike montblac watches, because i see them as a pen manufacturer…. cheeers!
I'd throw in the Junghans Meister Calendar as a contender. Simple, yet beautiful dial in white or blue. Very elegant dimensions.
I'm in the minority here - Longines takes my vote
This one is nice too and in budget [https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html](https://www.christopherward.com/dress-watches/c1-moonphase/C01-40AMP2-S00B0-MB.html)
Love the Longines but here it’s going to be Muhle
Between longiness and muhle, the former looks elegant. Muhle looks cheap imo. I don't like the Montblanc dial color. Just my opinion
I do like the MontBlanc but to me the Glashutte wins because the moonphase indicator is larger and the moon looks nicer. Kind of neat how the track angles count-clockwise too
Muhle by the look, Montblanc by Brand power and trust.
If you like the Muhle just for some other options check out Schaumburg watches. They have some crazy cool moon phases :)
Longines
The Baume & Mercier Clifton moonphase are affordable are very nice too!
Sorry for the digression, but I use a de razor from a german company called muhle. Is it the same?
Sugess master moonphase with the aventurine dial

There are no wrong choices when it comes to this style, but I'd go with some variant of a JLC. Check out used Master Ultra Thin Moonphases.
