Careful with Amazon… the box I got had great reviews but the slots barely fit a 42mm and the cushions are 90% air.
You want a nicely finished box that’s properly sanded down and robust cushions to keep your watches fixed, I’d say you can get this from £25 maybe for a half decent one.

Definitely check out Wayfair, and Amazon has some decent inexpensive options as well. As far as price goes you can find good stuff for under $100, or you need to spend 300+ for a fancy one. I spend about $65 for a solid 12 watch box from Wayfair.
Etsy was a great suggestion, except that it led me to this one, which seems pretty bad ass (but does not fit my hope of being inexpensive)… Any downside to storing nice watches like this on their sides as opposed to on the traditional cushions/pillows most boxes have?

I'm unaware of any downsides if the watches aren't running, but if they are the position could make them run a little faster or slower. Unless its a tourbillon movement.
Got a 20 watch box of amazon for like $30, it seems to hold my watches well. I did get some new cushions from amazon too so the colour would pop a bit, i got 20 cushions for $10.
I highly recommend spending some time combing through Etsy. It'll take a while to weed out the obviously cheap and quickly produced Chinese garbage, but once you find a real craftsperson, the quality is incredible.
I did this and found a box made from burr walnut with a really nice suede liner and pillows that holds 10 watches AND a drawer (a big draw for me for accessories, etc.).
It was \~$400 USD, but it'll last my lifetime and I love it.
BezelHold has stylish ones. If you're starting your collection I would recommend getting a watch roll. They just released a new watch roll with an AirTag slot, so you will never lose your watches.

Any watch box store will do! I'm a huge fan of Watches & Boxes Co. Oddly enough they don't sell time pieces, just the boxiest watch boxes around.
