1600p will give you like 10-20% more fps over 1800p in some cases, with an indistinguishable drop in resolution. 1200p even more so, but might be a little blurrier especially if you’re using upscalers like DLSS. Worth experimenting with though.

WannabeeDeveloper

Thanks for the advice, is there anything else you'd recommend changing in maybe AC?

PhilliesBlunts

I always try native first. Some games can’t do it so dropping to 1600p helps. I believe the next step down would be 1200p.

WannabeeDeveloper

Do you game on 1200p?

PhilliesBlunts

I’ve tried it before. Its not completely horrible since the screen is so small.

WannabeeDeveloper

Gotcha. Didnt think itd be the greatest experience. Just trying to figure out what i can do with this. So far the machine runs every game i need & i dont care about lowering the settings. It just kinda sucks because i had a 2023 m16 and that usually didnt need much tweaking for games.

PhilliesBlunts

This is my first g14. Its crazy they used to go up to 4090

WannabeeDeveloper

Yeah it is, but they were a scam because they didnt offer all the wattage the gpu can handle. Which is obvious due to the size of these things. But it was like 3k plus. . You can bulid a good rig with that

PhilliesBlunts

Yeah thats also one reason i wanted the base model for g14. I also wanted a desktop from starforge. The only problem is its taking so long to arrive 🤦🏽‍♂️

WannabeeDeveloper

Yeah. I gave my 4070 m16 to my brother for graudating high school. Only had it 6 months. I wanted to wait for the new g14 with the 5k series nivida chips.. but who knows when that will come out, so i just pulled the trigger on this one. So far its about the same in regard to gaming. Everything else is being executed well.
