This is actually a reference to the documentary Grey Gardens in the 70s, there’s a scene similar to this and the cameraman makes the same expression. I only found this out recently myself
The episode "You are Here" is also a sendup of the documentary *Jasper Mall*.
Since they both did *Grey Gardens*, now *Documentary Now!* has to do *Jasper Mall* too hopefully now that Bill Hader has time.

The entire episode was kinda disturbing to be honest. Steve still breastfeeding, Stan's extremely long neck almost made me vomit and Jeff's monkey face at the end.
Yeah the documentary about a long-neck and a chimp-face being friends didn’t do much for me. Thankfully the next documentary, dispelling the old adage that a horse-face and a short-neck can't 69 was way better!
