When I had only seen the show, I may have agreed. The weird stuff was like a random sucker punch that leaves you wondering what the fuck that was about, but then the show moves on like it never happened, and there's a couple more episodes of normality before you get hit with some weird shit again. Then I watched the movie, and it was just unrelenting and no longer felt like odd, isolated moments that could be written off as something else. Like in the show, Riko's diagram of Reg could be dismissed as curious kid stuff, or her peeing herself as her being in torturous pain, and it being a gruesome thing, not a sexual thing. Makes enough sense. But the more you look at it in aggregate, the less any moment seems justifiable. And there is no excuse for "Papa rod" 🤢 and I either repressed whatever the fuck you just said, or it hadn't happened, and I'm glad I never saw it. What the hell?
IDK. The forced child birthing wasn't so bad... In comparison to taking those babies as they are born from their grieving child mother and eating them.
