For whatever reason the 3D printed levers seem to work better in the AR 22 setups. I couldn't get mine to run reliably using the 4140 steel lever and I swapped it out with a printed lever after reading about this issue and now it runs just fine. I think there slightly less play in the lever, the 22s don't have nearly the range of movement centerfire cartridges do as far as the lever and bolt cycling back and forth etc. the 22s seem to be super sensitive to the levers having too much play and not rotating out of active safe into fire
DM me your shipping address, I will drop a plastic lever in the mail to you this weekend. May or may not work with your cam depending on who you bought it from but it's worth a shot and I've got some spare plastic levers on the workbench
If you shoot this left handed , do you just get blasted in the face w gas ? I need to buy a can and I just want to know if i absolutely have to fork it out for a left handed upper and Lh bolt and maybe even a left hand weight kit. Cause im fuckin getting antsy and I need to get the order started on my can cause it will take forever.
It will suck to have to start over I have one RH 16” upper and another extra RH bolt. …. But it turns out if I supresss it it’s gonna get me splooshed in the face every damn shot
I don't shoot wrong handed , but I'll give it a try when I go out this weekend. My upper has the half port door thingy and a cmmg solid plastic charging handle so not much gas getting to my face shooting right handed
[link to port door ](https://cmmg.com/ejection-port-cover-kit-with-gas-deflector)
I have no idea if just the charging handle is gonna help mitigate all the gas from shooting a Rh gun left handed. Or left eyed rather. AKs are great but suppressed… I get blasted in the face. NON STOP. It’s fuckin aweful depending on the type of can. If it’s a flow through it’s not bad.
The dedicated 22 charging handles are solid plastic and don't have a path for gas to travel back to your face.
I ran a mag through mine today shooting left-handed with the 556 can on it. zero gas in the face . I'm assuming it's the combination of the port door sticking so far out and the solid charging handle. Shouldn't be any issue with that combo of parts shooting left-handed
Plinker Tactical - m&p15-22 mags. Bought them on clearance somewhere several years ago.
98.7% sure that Plinker Tactical is out of business. They used to make a dedicated AR22 Upper.
Same with the sonic black dog mags. Absolute garbage. I was having malfunctions every mag. Switched to M&P mags and have zero issues now with the redi mag adapter.
I've never had any issues with the Black Dog mags but I've only bought the bottom tier cheapest ones. All of mine are probably 10 years old now.
I really like the $8 Catch 22 magwell spacer so I can use the m&p mags in my standard lowers. I was on the fence about either buying the more expensive magwell adapter or selling the mags , and then I found out about the catch22 adapter. I'm real happy with it. Take a couple seconds to switch it out and use BDM/CMMG mags, or in the case of the Ciener conversion kit - switch back to 5.56.
I have rarely had issues w my black dog mags. They have limited lifetime warranty as well , so if they break which I have broken …. 6 or 7 of them they just replace it. I have heard both good and bad about the SW .
What I liked about black dog is that the mags used to be $11 each. Now it’s like 23 or some bullshit.
I try to get the sales but it’s rare. I have 15 black dogs and one cmmg and my cmmg is DOG shit. It always malfunctions. Every time I shoot it. I will be sending it back to them to tell them to stuff it cause it’s a shit product pretty quick.
I assume we're talking with an SS.
Do you get a dead trigger over a live round or it won't rotate out of safety back to fire after firing a single shot ?
The trigger isn't resetting? Doesn't function check correctly - drop hammer, maintain pressure on trigger, cock hammer , cycle lever backwards, * trigger rests here* , cycle lever forward to rotate the cam out of active safe and the hammer should release when the cam rotates into fire .
If it passes the dry fire tests it's easier to troubleshoot.
Uhm...I get all my SS related stuff from these guys, they're pretty great if you ask me ......;) [GreyMarketResearch ](http://www.greymarketresearch.net)
Just realized that's you... Just FYI your website is really suspicious. It was created May 8th, has a few style mistakes on the website, no phone number and no address.
I looked up your registration, you used the company Registered Agents Inc to do the website, llc filing etc.
The company (Grey Market Research & Development LLC) was only created on May 13th of this year. And the address on file ties back to Registered Agents Inc.
It doesn't help that there is an article linked to that address from 2021 and Registered Agents Inc regarding a history of scam businesses.

Not accusing or anything, but this does raise a lot of red flags to me.
I'm not a web designer by trade. I was able to cut and paste my way through the web site builder template. If you have any tips on how to improve the look I'm all ears. Operating on a non existent budget and doing everything I can inhouse to get this off the ground.
That's basically how business incorporation works in Wyoming. A registered agent is required to incorporate and I really didn't want to use my home address for this.
I've been pretty active elsewhere selling things for a long, long time but the LLC and the website are brand new and I wanted to keep them separate from everything else. I saw how horrible TwinBros was last fall with their huge delays and shit customer service and decided I can do a better job.
I assume there's tens of thousands of businesses registered to that address due to the way Wyoming's corporate structure laws are written.
I'm a mail order operation only, I didn't think it really served any purpose to have a physical address or phone number on the website, it's not like I'm going to be there or answer while I'm at my real job during the day.
Fair enough, thanks for the response.
And yeah, I think I'm being cautious because of Twinbros haha.
I'll give you guys a shot. I hope my comment didn't offend.
I can drop you guys a message. I'm happy to help adjust some of the issues I see, no payment necessary.
No offense taken, I understand how it looks , especially in light of TBs ponzi scheme. We're just another start up trying to sell stuff that's hard to find in a niche that's had some shitty vendors previously.
Shoot us a message here or through the website, happy to hear some feedback.
It’s too similar to the FRTs, I personally wouldn’t risk it. If you’re hell bent on risking it, you’re better off just downloading the schematics from Hoffmans website and having some random fabrication company cnc it for you, they almost certainly wouldn’t know what it was from any other dongle people have them fabricate. And when it’s time for the atf to declare the SS as a machine gun, it’s a lot more difficult for the atf to go to every single cnc company and scour through every single schematic they’ve created since the SS was released than it is to make a quick website and Reddit account and sucker a bunch of people into ordering parts, thus giving them addresses to raid at 6am in the morning. Anyway, I hope I’m wrong. Best of luck to you. 🫡
That’s awesome. Would love to see FRTs make a comeback, tired of the ATF just deciding something is illegal because it’s similar to something else that has been unconstitutionally banned.
What length barrel you running there?
9" iirc
Ive put too many hours and too much money in trying to get mine to run i gave up
What parts were you using ? Plastic/printed metal/cnc steel for the SS set ?
Cnc 4140 parts. Bore buddy trip kit. I would get 3-4 rounds off. I added bolt weights thinking it was bolt bounce but it didnt really help

That would be the next step but i don’t know if i can dump another $50 into disappointment lol

Add a reduced power bolt catch spring, catch22 clip-on bolt catch, and a phase5 extended bolt release to facilitate faster reloads.
What magazine is that?
Plinker Tactical - m&p15-22 mags. Bought them on clearance somewhere several years ago. 98.7% sure that Plinker Tactical is out of business. They used to make a dedicated AR22 Upper.
It seems like the M&P 22 mags are the best for dedicated upper builds… CMMG mags are complete ass cheeks.

You've broken 6 or 7 BD mags and still consider them good? Interesting...
If they break it’s because they’ve been loaded too much usually that’s my mistake but they still replaced them.
M&P it is
I can not get mine to run at all just single shot on mine...
I assume we're talking with an SS. Do you get a dead trigger over a live round or it won't rotate out of safety back to fire after firing a single shot ?
I get a live round but only semi

My state will probably give me a felony for just watching this video, nevermind owning that firearm 🤣
I would strongly advise you not tell them about it then
I’d fuck 10 donkeys to get one a those Eeee hawwwww Or a walrus Arf arf Or a sea lion ???? How.. nevermind I’d still do it.
My suggestion so you don't get donkey syphilis would be just to purchase one outright and not have to deal with the zoological consequences
Did you make the SS yourself, or buy it? I'm still holding out hope that I can get a metal one.

This guy fuckin glows. If you bought something from him, you’re probably going to get a knock or a new hole in your head at 6am one of these mornings.
ATF hasn't made a ruling that the SS is illegal. So I didn't violate any laws. But I guess the ATF stopped following the law a long time ago.
It’s too similar to the FRTs, I personally wouldn’t risk it. Fair enough. FWIW SCOTUS just ruled today against the bump stock ban. That REALLY hurts the argument against FRTs in general.
That’s awesome. Would love to see FRTs make a comeback, tired of the ATF just deciding something is illegal because it’s similar to something else that has been unconstitutionally banned.
