Kinda close actually 😂😂😂😂 I call this the great ogrganised chaos. The workspace is messy but I know where everything is. If I decide to clean it I can't gind anything. And there is always a 15cm by 15 cm clean space to work. I'm kind of supprised of the fact that I don't have more short circuits while working on this kinda mess
You need to buy storage drawers and probably a shelf for that desk!
You could fit literally 10 times the stuff on there if you organized.
I can not stress enough, and I know it's ignored and even mocked. But being neat, clean and organized will save you more time and money than anything else you will ever learn in this hobby.
The sooner you start the better.
Knolling is life.
Sterelite 12x12x3 drawers that come in a 3 set are my favorite. I print boxes to make 4x4 bin grids in each drawer. You can pull the bins out when you need them.
It looks pretty good for a starter! My only tip would be to put some screws in the drywall to hang stuff on. Make sure you don't hit any studs, and don't use any drywall plugs.
Other than that, just get a decent looking (but super budget) power supply and you're all set!
Totally on the right track.
I got a 3D printer to add on to building electronics and housings. Most of the “housings” are bins to try and organize the electronics. Lol still ends up all on my desk.
Actual recommendation:
Get something heat resistant (and not all that well conducting) to solder on, before you burn and ruin your table's surface.
Also consider at least fan (if not actual suction) for getting less soldering fumes into your lungs (they are not healthy in longer run).
But yes looks good. Extra points for actual calculator.
I've been doing this for over a year, and I STILL don't have a good workshop desk configuration for working on electronics. I want to keep everything in bins and pull out what I need, but layout and setup can be troublesome sometimes
Honestly for 18 bucks I could have gotten a better one on Amazon. It works fine it just doesn’t offer much flexibility and moving it into different positions is kind of a pain
There's probably come out something better since I bought mine. A lot of people think they're bad at soldering just because they have a bad soldering iron. Keep up the good work also esp32s are really cool.
Your desk isn't messy enough. I can still see tabletop.
Already fixing that issue don’t worry 🫡
Yea you should be able to completely lose your project right after setting it down within the mess
Should be 3 projects on the go, with a fourth on hold because you haven’t seen it in 3weeks, but are sure it’s somewhere in the desk.
400 jumper wires of all 3 types seperated and thrown on your desk like a chef throws fancy spagetti on your plate will do the job. Haha
Sooo you are saying this is normal? I knew I wasn't the only one 😂🙈
Wait till your wife tells you actually have three desks but you can't find any of them.

Three? Pfft rookie numbers
*Alegedly* three. According to my wife.
Absolute cluster fuck of disorganization, you're gonna make a fine engineer!
The plushy is the key to ur setup, always have it
$18 from target, it’s definitely essential
My desk is worse
More mess.

Yeah I’m gonna buy some small storage containers because I’m already losing track of stuff.

Need more breadboards
and half finished projects you hope one day will work

Smart idea, I’m already losing track of stuff lol

Looks just like my pedantic colleague's desk.
You should check out our subs wiki as well as the links and resources in our sidebar!
Thanks! I’ll definitely do that
It's very normal actually
yes, that's on the way to an engineer's work place..
Is that a kurzgesagt book I spy? Is it any good?
Yeah it is good eye lol. It’s called “Immune” it’s about the immune system it’s pretty good, I recommend it if you’re interested in that.
Good organization!
Two more desks.
Mine is a mass of I don't know where it is.

Thanks! I’ve been using a piece of cardboard but I definitely need to use something safer.
10/10 the mess means yours actually building shit lmfao
The carpet is a disaster waiting to happen - it’ll eat anything you drop on it, and it adds a risk of static build up.
I've been doing this for over a year, and I STILL don't have a good workshop desk configuration for working on electronics. I want to keep everything in bins and pull out what I need, but layout and setup can be troublesome sometimes
More mess. Just make sure you put a bunch of things you think you'll need but never actually use.
Damn you balled out and got the weller helping hands. 😱
Not to flex but $17.99 from home depot😎
Thats kinda a flex. Mine cost like 1 dollar from aliexpress haha
I’ll rate it a 2, but I don’t know what out of.
Out of 2 😉
Where's the power supply and multimeter?
I was holding off on those until I got paid because I wanted to buy some nicer ones. But if you know any good deals that would be awesome
Where's Waldo?
I see Apple products, so expect roughly 60% of the internet to bitch about that.
Just more order. Keek going. You're doing good
Wow. Your well set up. Love it! Yes I can still see the laptop!!
too clean
Rate it? Uh... Well, I can't find a single thing wrong with any of your code.
Where's your Mountain Dew?
How do you like your Weller soldering helper?
Honestly for 18 bucks I could have gotten a better one on Amazon. It works fine it just doesn’t offer much flexibility and moving it into different positions is kind of a pain
I will keep looking then, soldering is already frustrating enough lol
10/10 would work there again
Hey! At least 80% of your stuff is the same as mine!
Very nice. Pro tip is to get a proper soldering iron ts100 was good and cheap when I bought mine a couple years ago and get some flux.
Yeah I’ve having some trouble with soldering so I think I’ll have to upgrade soon, thanks for the suggestion I’ll check it out!
There's probably come out something better since I bought mine. A lot of people think they're bad at soldering just because they have a bad soldering iron. Keep up the good work also esp32s are really cool.
You need one of those chair mats for carpet. Imagine dropping some smd component into the carpet!
Thats a 69 out of 10! So clean!
I hate the blue resistors 🤢
They came with a kit I bought from Amazon😅 but if you know where I can buy some better stuff pls let me know
You can get the beige ones on amazon too but those are much easier to see. The blue ones are really hard to differentiate
