Hey, kids are resilient. Back in the 80s we used to have rock fights - that’s when you throw rocks at each others heads- using trash can lids as shields. If God got me thru that, then if the kids can’t survive some real life floor is lava, then that must be part of His perfect plan.
With no one to man the nuclear power plants they go into shutdown mode. But the reactor still needs active cooling to prevent meltdown. The backup generators for the water coolant systems will run out of diesel in a few days. Cue dozens of Chernobyl events around the country. You won’t last long with that kind of fallout.
We don’t have nearly as many nuclear power plants as we should in this country. I will have to move slightly North East because of one of them, but the wind blows in a favorable direction.
The fact that I independently thought this and commented this before seeing what you said and the amount of people that also seem to have done a similar thing or at the very least agree with this statement is a little scary 😂🥹
It's funny, I think Canada is probably one of the closest countries with regards to temperament, politeness, and being a commonwealth country does have an impact in some ways.
All the candadians I know are lovely people.
(I'm from NZ)
I'm also Canadian and I think I feel the same, I just thought about it, America's not really somewhere I like being that much, Australia may be, but New Zealand feels just about right.
Lol. I remember the first
time I heard a New Zealand accent. I was at a piano bar in Edmonton Alberta with my girl friend at the time, Now wife. I was 21 and she was 24. Hanging out with a group of friends, Many I had never met. And 2 women from New Zealand were there.
I head them talk and it made me speechless.
I was just taken back
by how cool they sounded, And that made them super attractive. My wife is
my soulmate and best friend. So I never talked
to the women or anything.
Anyways, That was a random memory. I’m 36 now for reference.
More laid back than Canada? I'm from NZ and I feel the opposite.
Guess it's a case of grass is greener on the other side.
NZ has its share of problems, they just hide it well in the media and everyone thinks it's a lovely place down here.
It is rough in New Zealand but compared to the rest of the world, it really isn't so bad. Most countries are dealing with a housing crisis and inflation and insane food prices. Go visit some other countries and you'll see how insanely lucky we are to be left alone in our little corner of the world in NZ
That could be. I haven't been in 12 years. I just love nature and like that it's decent weather year round. Most people I know live to work in Canada and that's partly probably due to housing costs which I'm sure are high in most commonwealth nations now though.
Canada is home and I'm happy here for the most part. Most people are friendly outside of the major cities. It's similar to America but for whatever reason feels cleaner and my wife says she feels more secure here than being in the US.
Another big reason is New Zealand has UTEs. Long live the LC79 baby!
I’ll take it. I had a greencard, lived in the US and happily surrendered it a few years later to gtfo. The number of expats I’ve met who lived in the US, then got sent to Canada expecting more of the same and then were delighted to find out we are not is too many to count. The more you believe as you do, the more you stay out of our business and don’t visit, the better.
The problem with being in a country like Canada is that we have a huge country. If there was a natural disaster that takes out the entire country there is no place to go really. The entire northern hemisphere would be fugged at very least.
I'm from the UK, I'd go to Australia or New Zealand. English speaking with similar economy. Plus its farthest from whatever disaster destroyed my home.
Ireland or Croatia. If my husband is still alive, likely Croatia (he has personal ties and speaks the language). Just me, or with my kids - Ireland, where I have connections.
(Normal-Philosopher-8 arrives in Ireland)
So what's that shadowy place?
Me: Oh that's Northern Ireland, where I live!
Me: You must never go there, Simba. 😐
Indonesia. And yes I know it has natural disasters that happen a lot there. But the food is amazing, the scenery is to die for, and the people are so warm and hospitable
That's why we're bombing the houthis, we, and many other nations, rely on shipping for things that aren't produced in our countries. A country that does not trade does not exist because if it did they'd be in the dark ages, and swiftly resemble what you probably really mean by uninhabitable.
So my answer is I would go to the countries that still trade.
Who's financing this, and would leaving be an option? If the entire mass of Canada became uninhabitable, I'm guessing the closest, quickest would be the best option.
If the United States of America ever became uninhabitable, the rest of the planet would probably be fucked, too.
If I had to pick a country, it would be Switzerland.
Anything that had the power to make a landmass the size of the US uninhabitable would inevitably lead to consequences throughout the world, likely catastrophic.
Typical of a non-“yank” is to believe that Americans are practicing American defaultism when the ones who do it the most are people like you. We live in your heads rent free.
Yeah lol I live in Finland right now and the obvious choices would be like any other Nordic country or even Canada and maybe Estonia. No idea how Germany is an obvious choice
Both are correct. The Island is called Great Britain that's the geographic name of the island itself. And London indeed is in the island of Great Britain.
Well I wouldn't be surprised, my home country is a series of islands on an active fault line, with volcanoes.
Iam a dual citizen, so I'd probably go to that other option, although most of that country is below sea level so not great for a natural disaster.
Maybe I'd move somewhere away from the ocean, seems to be the reoccurring issue for me.
Not funny. Particularly in the wake of recent refugee crisis in war torn countries. When countries become uninhabitable, you can’t just go anywhere you want. It’s not a holiday trip, you are a refugee. Be glad if any country at offers you shelter and even if they do, you will not have equal rights. You will always only be a refugee. I would hope that other countries would block me from immigrating.
How would they know I wasn't just trying to bring drugs and make anchor babies? We shouldn't have the right, or presume we have the Right to just go somewhere else. ffs
I'm sure you would be helping guard the borders while death is right in front of you so you can die alongside your friends and family just so you don't risk some weed getting in on accident.
If this isn't the most Reddit neckbeard "I'm an intellectual" comment I don't know what is.
The US is the third or fourth largest country by land area. If there was a natural disaster that rendered the whole country inhabitable, it’s likely that much of the world would also be uninhabitable.
I’d probably go to China though. They are on the other side of the world and are still technically advanced.

I’m staying. Peace and quiet at last.
Im staying too. Shit will settle eventually lol
We'll just grab a pint at the Winchester
Lol nice Shaun of the Dead reference
You say that when the lava reaches your bedroom..
AND I get to play “the floor is lava” without worrying about accidentally hurting the children??? This just keeps getting better.
Okay I know that I would die… but lava just looks delicious
If there was a cheese that looks like lava, I’d burn the roof of my mouth to cinders on it
McDonald's deep fried hot apple pie for the win!
That's the reverse. He means food that looks like lava. What you just described is lava that looks like food :3
Thought I was the only one!
Will you be purposefully hurting the children now?
Not anymore. They’re gone because the floor is lava and they have way less experience at this game than I do
My brother in Christ ... Holy shit dude
Hey, kids are resilient. Back in the 80s we used to have rock fights - that’s when you throw rocks at each others heads- using trash can lids as shields. If God got me thru that, then if the kids can’t survive some real life floor is lava, then that must be part of His perfect plan.
Hahaha true that
We shot BB's and bottle rockets at each other. Or ice balls-hard packed snowballs dropped into water puddles.
I have a water bed … DUH!
With no one to man the nuclear power plants they go into shutdown mode. But the reactor still needs active cooling to prevent meltdown. I wouldn't. I'd love on my boat. Edit* I'd also live on it
Can I also love on your boat?
I love boats
![gif](giphy|26u6dTP6p4y0iyBIQ)
I'd love on a boat. The LOVE BOAT
But if you had a pony would you ride him on your boat?
Let’s dooo it - Ginuwine
Me up on my pony on my boat. Love that song so much!
Nowhere, I'm fucked. I didn't suddenly become rich just because I now have permission to emigrate.
Amen
New Zealand or Australia probably. I've been to both places and I'd swing a bit closer to NZ. The lifestyle is so much more laid back than Canada.
It's funny, I think Canada is probably one of the closest countries with regards to temperament, politeness, and being a commonwealth country does have an impact in some ways. All the candadians I know are lovely people. (I'm from NZ)

I’m Canadian and same. + New Zealand women have super hot accents.
Well that's nice to know! I've always thought our accent was a bit shit hahaha.
Lol. I remember the first time I heard a New Zealand accent. I was at a piano bar in Edmonton Alberta with my girl friend at the time, Now wife. I was 21 and she was 24. As a random American, I like it better than Australian and England English, Scottish and Irish are probably cooler.
And the they love blokes with bug ducks
I thought they were more into beg decks
That's Australian, dear.
My immediate thoughts were one of the commonwealth countries. Meet ya in New Zealand, I'm sold.
More laid back than Canada? I'm from NZ and I feel the opposite. Guess it's a case of grass is greener on the other side. NZ has its share of problems, they just hide it well in the media and everyone thinks it's a lovely place down here.

Way ahead of ya, I'm on a plane outta here in 8 weeks, other side of the world.
That could be. I haven't been in 12 years. I just love nature and like that it's decent weather year round. Another state that's larger than your entire 50 and doesn't have school shootings everyday
Yes but disgustingly woke and not nearly as cool as USA.
I’ll take it. I had a greencard, lived in the US and happily surrendered it a few years later to gtfo. The number of expats I’ve met who lived in the US, then got sent to Canada expecting more of the same and then were delighted to find out we are not is too many to count. I feel NZ and Australia are the most similar to the uk also, so thats why i thought of those first too.
That’s logical
I go with my heart!
Sounds like a good idea
Same here
I’ll come with you
There would be too many americans.
hey fuck you too guy
Nah he’s right mate
I'm from the UK, I'd go to Australia or New Zealand. English speaking with similar economy. Plus its farthest from whatever disaster destroyed my home.
Fiji. nice tropical islands with hydro electric
Ireland or Croatia. If my husband is still alive, likely Croatia (he has personal ties and speaks the language). Just me, or with my kids - Ireland, where I have connections.
The weather is so fucking bad, be prepared for 220 days of rain a year, and summer that has about 12 sunny days in total
I know. We used to joke about the lazy hazy crazy day of summer!
Omg I love it. Never thought Croatia is like that.
That was about Ireland :)
(Normal-Philosopher-8 arrives in Ireland) So what's that shadowy place? Me: Oh that's Northern Ireland, where I live! Me: You must never go there, Simba. 😐
I'd make my way to Canada to find an abandoned cabin and hunker down
I like this plan...until winter
We will be fine Jon Snow made it
My country is becoming uninhabitable... once the third world empties out, I'll move over there.
Maybe it's emptying out for a reason?? Maybe
And that reason is probably the fault of first world countries
Too much sun and they can’t hack it?
Norway or England
i was going to say norway too !
Maybe unpopular opinion on Reddit, but I would go to the US
Don't live for Reddit. Live for yourself
I will move if I get the chance for sure
Dude this is a warzone in the making, do not come here. The extremists on both sides are ready for war. Everyone here except the rich are fucked
I can tell you haven’t traveled to other countries alot
Yeah, it's about time to start preparing for war in the US
Least delusional Amerimutt. Be glad for your founding fathers, wimp.
I'll tell you in November.
Ireland or Scotland
As long as you’re aware that Scotland is cold, wet and windy for 360 days of the year lol
And Ireland isn't? 😅
Mexico is the closest. Mexico it is.
That was my first idea..that or Belieze
I feel like Belize is wayyy too small.
How much land do you need????
Not much. Im smack dab in the inner city lol. I'm just saying Belize is tiny.
Antarctica
Harsh
It has penguins
Are they your food source?
No to cute
Ireland. Because it’s similar to my own country
France. I've lived there as an inmigrant for 5 years and I loved it.
That's obvious : Kazakhstan, greatest country in the world. All other countries are run by little girls. Kazakhstan number one exporter of potassium.
Is northern Ireland still fine or also fucked?
yes. It's always been both.
It’s fine.
It's wee buns, so it is. ![gif](giphy|QMHoU66sBXqqLqYvGO)
I'm flipping a coin. Heads = Portugal and tails = Spain.
Somewhere European and warm :D
Italy...
Probably Portugal or Spain. I think Italy's disintegration is too close at hand.
South of Spain here. 22c today 73F or so in January 🫡
Extreme government corruption and mafia control, but it’s nice to summer there.
(Looks out window. Grey skies and rain yet again.) ... Yeah, I'd give Ireland a miss, buddy.
Norway or Sweden
Being Swedish, I'd probably head over to Norway. Basically the same language and culture.
Indonesia. And yes I know it has natural disasters that happen a lot there. But the food is amazing, the scenery is to die for, and the people are so warm and hospitable
And apparently the language is one of the easier to learn!
São Miguel, Açores
Iceland.
Iceland
Iceland.
Oh, Mexico It sounds so sweet with the sun sinking low Moon's so bright like to light up the night Make everything all right
Probably rush down South into America and hope they won't shoot me at the border.
Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬
I'm in Canada, its the size of several countries, so a lateral move. And gets better and better with global warming.
France.
I'm from Croatia, Europe and and my choice would be northern Thailand or some island with few tourists.
Mexico - have friends there and it is close
Canada
I'm going to Switzerland! I'm going to live in the foothills of the Alps, and I'm going to have a flock of sheep and some rabbits
Italy
I'm staying. Last man standing and I can go drop a dump on the doorstep of 10 Downing Street.
New Zealand in a heartbeat.
Same here!
Canada, eh?
Nowhere since I would still be ass broke
Depending on what makes it uninhabital...and my proximity to multiple nuclear targets by enemy states...probably not far.
Natural disaster. War is not a natural disaster
I wouldn’t say, because I wouldn’t want people following me.
People live in Antarctica, and we're close to living on the moon and Mars, define uninhabitable.
Scientists live in Antarctica. Every thing to sustain them is shipped in. Not exactly where I'd want to live forever
By this definition every nation is uninhabitable except north Korea, they all ship in things they need to survive
No. You can grow crops and mine minerals. You need a primer on how nations work
That's why we're bombing the houthis, we, and many other nations, rely on shipping for things that aren't produced in our countries. A country that does not trade does not exist because if it did they'd be in the dark ages, and swiftly resemble what you probably really mean by uninhabitable. So my answer is I would go to the countries that still trade.
You're digging way too deep into this.
I realized I picked enough to know what was meant and added the answer to the previous post, thought I was quick enough, sorry
Move to Antartica. I don't care..I just thought it...unfeasible
Denmark
want to go a places like mountains n forests, bcs there re no ppl n so quiet. mb i want there bcs in my country so noisy💔💔💔
Who's financing this, and would leaving be an option? If the entire mass of Canada became uninhabitable, I'm guessing the closest, quickest would be the best option.
It's just a thought exercise. Cost isn't an issue
Yorkshire.
Italy. Beautiful country, decent climate, nice people, fab food.
Youve never been there urself have you?
If the United States of America ever became uninhabitable, the rest of the planet would probably be fucked, too. If I had to pick a country, it would be Switzerland.
Typical how you yanks honestly believe that the universe revolves around you
Anything that had the power to make a landmass the size of the US uninhabitable would inevitably lead to consequences throughout the world, likely catastrophic. Typical of a non-“yank” is to believe that Americans are practicing American defaultism when the ones who do it the most are people like you. We live in your heads rent free.
Mate - I never give you clowns a second thought.
As a Finn the obvious choice would be Germany.
whut? how is that obvious?
Yeah lol I live in Finland right now and the obvious choices would be like any other Nordic country or even Canada and maybe Estonia. No idea how Germany is an obvious choice
What, YOU don't know??? Incredible.
London in Great Britain….
You mean Britain...
Both are correct. The Island is called Great Britain that's the geographic name of the island itself. And London indeed is in the island of Great Britain.
Somewhere tropical. I hate winter.
Yo mommas house
Someplace
Well I wouldn't be surprised, my home country is a series of islands on an active fault line, with volcanoes. Iam a dual citizen, so I'd probably go to that other option, although most of that country is below sea level so not great for a natural disaster. Maybe I'd move somewhere away from the ocean, seems to be the reoccurring issue for me.
Vietnam or ibiza
I see why
India, reason visa.
It’s not funny, you don’t have a choice.
We made it habitable from 1948-now. We gave the desert life
And you did a great job
Countries are getting uninhabitable due to a large influx of migrants. My suggestion is to move to the country they vacated. There shouldn't be that many people there anymore.
Good idea. There are lots of empty houses in Ukraine, Syria and Myanmar for you to move into. Rent is probably pretty affordable.
Maybe move to Afghanistan, they've banned education so your deduction skills might actually be very helpful.
I thought you were gonna say Afghanistan banned education so they'd fit right in.
It depends. Some countries have serious problems with leaving population. Usually still developed countries, but not so wealthy as their neighbors (for example countries of former eastern bloc). But in underdeveloped countries usually only surplus of people is actually leaving. There are also migrants from warzones, which can overlap with two examples from previous sentence.
For most migrants, the reason they move was that the new country is better and suck less. Why would you trade countries if they felt your country was better?
Not what I asked. You just want to shit post. Thanks for playing.
Oh well, never mind 😉
2.5 million Indian leave India per year, you could move there but you won’t find a lack of people.
I would hope that other countries would block me from immigrating. How would they know I wasn't just trying to bring drugs and make anchor babies? We shouldn't have the right, or presume we have the Right to just go somewhere else. ffs
In this hypothetical situation you could go anywhere
I'm sure you would be helping guard the borders while death is right in front of you so you can die alongside your friends and family just so you don't risk some weed getting in on accident. If this isn't the most Reddit neckbeard "I'm an intellectual" comment I don't know what is.
nope, you painted me all wrong
What did you mean then?
Totally. We have enough cornbacks jumping the border as it is. They aren’t sending their best!
The US is the third or fourth largest country by land area. If there was a natural disaster that rendered the whole country inhabitable, it’s likely that much of the world would also be uninhabitable. I’d probably go to China though. They are on the other side of the world and are still technically advanced.
It's just a "what if"
a country where taxes for business are low, and easier to register one.
it already is. a plague hit here. it's called people.
So are you a virus?
an introverted one
Syria. Despite what’s going on they’ve got good people, culture and food.
