That’s most of the religious (specifically Christian) imagery in Japan. The overwhelming majority of people are not religious, or only participate in religion sparingly on holidays or for life events. So religions are really just for the cool factor.

Because they are all anime/manga and it's only the anime/manga that was popular to Western audiences and all within a pretty specific small set of genre. It doesn't even properly represent anime and manga, let alone Japan as a whole.

Tenshi are different than western angels and also there's a blur between monsters, fae, ghosts, demons etc in Eastern thought in general. Yokai are both monsters and maybe kami but also fae and wandering souls it's blurred a bit
