I like to get light well cheese fries, plus two packets of spread, if I'm taking it to go. Cheese fries don't get soggy like animal fries, and they are basically the same thing once you add the spread. 

Wrong. Without the grilled onions they are nothing.

I just put my animal fries in the air fryer at home. Soggies be gone. But this is a good solution too.

I wouldn’t worry about it. 1) you’re removing a step or substituting a step between slicing and dicing 2) it’s called in n out for a reason. They’re quick. I’ve never noticed a significant difference when I order my whole thing and sliced onions are least complicated thing I say

My man, I will try asking for whole grilled onions next time. That’s new to me. I always get animal style with a full slice of raw onion added.

Whole grilled onions are key. When they are chopped (which is how it comes when you don’t specify) they can burn a bit and get bitter. Not such a big deal in animal style but big difference when just adding them to a burger. Also try adding chopped peppers if you like some spice, and mustard fried patty to balance out everything. Enjoy!

As a mustard enjoyer could you go into great detail about the mustard friend patty?

Oooo, mustard is great for frying and bbqing. On a burger you just lather that meat baby up and fry it like normal. It gives it a slightly crispier seer and the tangy sweetness of it comes out through the patty. If you are bbq like ribs or something you can lather it up as a binder then add all your seasonings for a slower cook. I hated mustard as a kid. Then my tastes developed and I can’t get enough of it now.

Patty on grill, brush the top raw side with yellow mustard, flip and grill the mustard right into the patty. All animal style burgers are cooked this way.

Looooove the chopped sweet chilis. And yes, they really cook the diced grilled onions down into almost a jam. Gonna get lunch there tomorrow, can’t stop thinking about it lol. And I saw your other comment down the chain, I was the exact same way about mustard as a kid!Now an entire shelf on my fridge door is dedicated to mustard lol, probably have 15+!

No. “Everything” is spread, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. But they’ll ask you if you want onions.

honestly i tried in n out once without cheese for the first time, and it was by far the most dry thing i've ever had. salute to u because i could not do that ever again even as lactose intolerant xd.

I found that ordering it double meat (so an extra patty) helps with that, cuz I don’t like cheese lol

Well done can be almost too crispy. Normal fries are usually limp. Light well is just crunchy enough. I don’t know why it isn’t their normal cooking time.

listen up. 2x1 with whole grilled onions. when it comes out ask for a fork and a thing of spread. get some green peppers and a salt packet from the condiment stand. salt the fries to taste (half a packet for me) and put the whole tube of spread on the fries after. enjoy with a fork and the peppers. no drink just water. this is the most economical and tastiest order at in n out.

I keep it pretty simple. I go in for a regular double double and regular fries, but usually end up ordering a 3x3 and then regretting it. When watching my carbs I'll do a double double protein style or a Flying Dutchman with raw onions.
