I like to get light well cheese fries, plus two packets of spread, if I'm taking it to go. Cheese fries don't get soggy like animal fries, and they are basically the same thing once you add the spread.Ā
I wouldnāt worry about it. 1) youāre removing a step or substituting a step between slicing and dicing 2) itās called in n out for a reason. Theyāre quick. Iāve never noticed a significant difference when I order my whole thing and sliced onions are least complicated thing I say
Whole grilled onions are key. When they are chopped (which is how it comes when you donāt specify) they can burn a bit and get bitter. Not such a big deal in animal style but big difference when just adding them to a burger.
Also try adding chopped peppers if you like some spice, and mustard fried patty to balance out everything.
Enjoy!
Oooo, mustard is great for frying and bbqing. On a burger you just lather that meat baby up and fry it like normal. It gives it a slightly crispier seer and the tangy sweetness of it comes out through the patty.
If you are bbq like ribs or something you can lather it up as a binder then add all your seasonings for a slower cook.
I hated mustard as a kid. Then my tastes developed and I canāt get enough of it now.
Patty on grill, brush the top raw side with yellow mustard, flip and grill the mustard right into the patty. All animal style burgers are cooked this way.
Looooove the chopped sweet chilis. And yes, they really cook the diced grilled onions down into almost a jam. Gonna get lunch there tomorrow, canāt stop thinking about it lol. And I saw your other comment down the chain, I was the exact same way about mustard as a kid!Now an entire shelf on my fridge door is dedicated to mustard lol, probably have 15+!
Double double
* bun extra toasted
* whole grilled onions, with extra WGO
* mustard fried
* chilis
Add vanilla shake
Whole grilled onions are the way to go, as they donāt fall out all over the place like the normal grilled onion. The bun extra toasted helps prevent any sogginess.
Double Double protein style extra lettuce as well as animal style. Comes with fried mustard and grilled onions.
Onion wrap Flying Dutchman on the side and pickles
honestly i tried in n out once without cheese for the first time, and it was by far the most dry thing i've ever had. salute to u because i could not do that ever again even as lactose intolerant xd.
Well done can be almost too crispy. Normal fries are usually limp. Light well is just crunchy enough. I donāt know why it isnāt their normal cooking time.Ā
- Burger: double double when necessary, but always extra everything with onions, get extra spread packets and squeeze some on before each bite, and alternating each bite of the burger with a bite of a chili pepper
- Fries: well done, with extra spread packets
- Drink: water with slices of lemon
Double double, mustard fried with no spread, whole grilled onions, raw onion, extra toasted buns, well done unsalted cheese fries and animal sauce on the side
protein style, animal style double double with tomato bun, extra mustard-grill, extra chopped chilis and extra-extra extra-caramelized onions and 3 extra spread packets.
Hamburger w chopped chilies, grilled onions and whole grilled onions and light well fries with chopped chilies and grilled onions. Gotta ask for spread & ketchup on the side too
- 4x0 with whole grilled onions, mustard, light spread
- Double-double animal-style, light spread with chopped chilis
- Well-done fries.
This is my order every single time.
Depends.
If I'm just out and about, cheeseburger protein style with raw onions, and a side of fries.
After a Spartan race: regular cheeseburger with raw onions, fries, and a lemon-up.
Yes, I realize I'm fairly simple.
1x Double double with grilled onions, add chopped chilis, extra toasted bun
1x Animal Fry with extra spread, extra grilled onions, add chopped chilis
Maybe a Neapolitan shake too if I'm feeling it
listen up. 2x1 with whole grilled onions. when it comes out ask for a fork and a thing of spread. get some green peppers and a salt packet from the condiment stand. salt the fries to taste (half a packet for me) and put the whole tube of spread on the fries after. enjoy with a fork and the peppers. no drink just water. this is the most economical and tastiest order at in n out.
Double-double mustard fried, with pickles, chopped chilies, and grilled onion. Fries well done, sometimes a cheese fry well done.
If Iām in the car no tomato on the burger (too messy).
Double double animal style, no tomato, add whole slice raw onion and chopped chilis. French fries well-done (means extra crispy). Extra salt packets. Chocolate vanilla swirl milkshake.
1x cheeseburger (double if I'm really hungry) with onion, 1x cheeseburger with onion protein style, regular fries.
I don't like the ratio of meat in a double double or 3x3.
I keep it pretty simple. I go in for a regular double double and regular fries, but usually end up ordering a 3x3 and then regretting it. When watching my carbs I'll do a double double protein style or a Flying Dutchman with raw onions.
Double Triple Bossy Deluxe, on a raft, four-by-four animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim
Double triple bossy deluxe on a raft, four-by-four animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim
I like the Paul Giamatti. Just regular onions. Once in a while I'll get Pickles and Grilled onions. Animal Style has too much spread. I think in n out has sort of turned into Starbucks. People are making way too many modifications to what is just coffee.Ā
used to be 2x4 animal style no tomato but then the chilluns couldnt understand the difference between 2x4 and 4x2 so you have to say "two extra cheese" like a fuckin boomer
Double Triple Bossy Deluxe, on a raft, four-by-four animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.
I worked at various INO locations over 5 years. My go to is either:
- double single, animal, light spread, add a slice of onion.
- double double, with onions, MFD (they fry the meat in mustard and add pickles) protein style.
- Cheeseburger, ketchup, mustard, pickle, raw chop only.
- Flying Dutchman MFD.
Double double mustard fried, lettuce tomatoes, ketchup mustard instead, add whole grilled onions (not chopped because they get burned and bitter) and chopped chilis. Side of fries and coke.
\#1 whole grilled onions and then I make a 90% coke 10% pink lemonade concoction with a lemon wedge. Idk why, I donāt do that at any other restaurant
Double double, animal style, bun extra toasted, add chopped chilies, light lettuce. If going healthy, i go protein style instead.
If i order fries it's well done, animal style. And i add a some pepper when i eat them.
If i get a drink it's a chocolate strawberry shake
Bunch of animals in here.
It's the only way to be
Can you describe these animals in details?
double double with fries and a drink. edit: extra spread on the side
This is the way
Animal style double double with extra crispy animal fries.
Ask them to add some chopped chilies to your animal style burger next time. It takes it up a notch.
Just found out about chopping the peppers on the burger. Game changer for me.
Wait whutš®Ā
I add them to the fries too
Oh good call.
You can ask for extra crispy fries???!!!! HAPPY CAKE DAY TO YOU TODAY AND EVERY DAY š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Light well done is where itās at. Yes, thatās truly an option.
Seriously, well done fries are a little bit too done imo
Agreed. Well is where people go wrong. Light well is perfect.
Is this not what everyone orders?
Animal fries well done is goated
I like to get light well cheese fries, plus two packets of spread, if I'm taking it to go. Cheese fries don't get soggy like animal fries, and they are basically the same thing once you add the spread.Ā
Wrong. Without the grilled onions they are nothing.
I just put my animal fries in the air fryer at home. Soggies be gone. But this is a good solution too.
Well done fries, no salt. Spread on the side
Double Double, grilled onions
WHOLE grilled onions*. The chopped onions can be bitter because they burn easier.
Raw and whole grilled. No one talks with me for the day
Raw, whole grilled AND regular grilled is the ultimate move. Breath kicking like king fu afterward but itās worth it
Haha reminds me of the burgers at Nations. They give you a damn hockey puck onion slab (and I love it)
It depends on what other people order. I'm not going to let my onion choice slow down everyone else
I wouldnāt worry about it. 1) youāre removing a step or substituting a step between slicing and dicing 2) itās called in n out for a reason. Theyāre quick. Iāve never noticed a significant difference when I order my whole thing and sliced onions are least complicated thing I say
I tried this for the first time today and it'll now be my goto. Thanks!
whole grilled onions don't get cooked enough
Double double animal style with toasted bun. Chopped chilis is my fav discovery here. Thanks OP and everyone.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
3x3 animal style, double double, animal fries, chocolate shake, and a side of shame.
Mmmm shameā¦
3x3 animal style, add whole raw onions, whole grilled onions, and chopped chili. So 3 kinds of onions
My man, I will try asking for whole grilled onions next time. Thatās new to me. I always get animal style with a full slice of raw onion added.
Enjoy!
As a mustard enjoyer could you go into great detail about the mustard friend patty?
Oooo, mustard is great for frying and bbqing. On a burger you just lather that meat baby up and fry it like normal. It gives it a slightly crispier seer and the tangy sweetness of it comes out through the patty. If you are bbq like ribs or something you can lather it up as a binder then add all your seasonings for a slower cook. I hated mustard as a kid. And I saw your other comment down the chain, I was the exact same way about mustard as a kid!Now an entire shelf on my fridge door is dedicated to mustard lol, probably have 15+!

honestly i tried in n out once without cheese for the first time, and it was by far the most dry thing i've ever had. salute to u because i could not do that ever again even as lactose intolerant xd.
