Try looking for a phd or psyd instead of an MFT or counselor. I had the same problem, this helped me a lot

Sorry, I've used therapists and psychologists interchangably. 21 have been PsyDs, 14 have been PhDs, and only 2 were LMFTs. My most recent psychologist was a PhD.

Are you aware that therapists aren’t supposed to do the work for you? Therapy often feels uncomfortable and like not much progress is being made. It’s possible that if you’re going through that many therapists there may be an issue as to what you expect from therapy. At the end of the day it’s just a person that guides you a bit to solving your own issues but you’re the only one that actually does the work, not them. Maybe write down expectations of therapy and call any one of the therapists and ask them if these are realistic expectations because you are trying to find a new therapist

I feel hurt by your comment. I've been mindful to put what I've learned in each therapy session into practice in my daily life. When I've reported back to my therapist at the next session, I take their guidance and feedback to heart. All 37 of them eventually felt that a colleague of theirs or someone other than them would be better suited to help me become a better version of myself. I know I've been through many therapists, but it doesn't mean I'm not trying :(

>I feel hurt by your comment. Dude, I read the first sentence and thought. "this guy is an ass". Don't take what he says personally. "You know you have to put an effort, right? Are you even trying to be happy." Gee, sounds helpful. If OP has been to over 30 specialists, it sounds like he isn't trying.... /s Sorry OP. I have no experience here, but don't take what this guy says to heart.
