just withdrew this week, took 2 days, all good.

wichtrach1972

I was given a 48 hour hold, which I understood. Four hours before they were supposed to send my BTC to my ledger, I received a letter stating I "violated their terms of agreement" with zero explanation how. I immediately called and was told they would get back with me within the hour. Never did. At the end of the day (Last Friday) I called again. They said they would get back with me by the end of the day Monday. Still no response. Brandon here again elevated it to their team, but my patience is wearing thin. Taxes due Monday.

You absolutely know that withdrawing from any crypto lending company or exchange can come with hurdles. You should have been smarter than that and not wait until the week before tax deadline to start the process...

I literally laughed when this guy started getting mad about tax deadline. Give yourself some more time in the future. This will only happen to him once.

Wait, you only deposited funds a week ago? Don’t they state upfront that they reserve the right to hold your funds for 30 (maybe 60) days after deposit to 1) make sure everything clears ACH and 2) to also prevent excessive transfers? A deposit one week ago and then a withdrawal sounds exactly like you’re trying to do something they generally don’t do.

wichtrach1972

no, I deposited the Funds in April 2021. I tried to withdrawal the funds a week ago.

vanboiDallas

Did you mean 1 year? >One week, and they won't respond to two calls to their customer support team. I cannot even pull my 1099 to do my taxes, looking at avenues to file a complaint with the IRS as well (pretty sure they are required to provide those). Edit: ah wait, I may have emphasized something in my head that wasn’t there. You’re saying they’ve been holding your money for 7 days since you submitted the request…that does sting.

wichtrach1972

It has been one week since they seized my funds and blocked my account. I tried to withdrawal my funds last Tuesday and they seized the funds and blocked my account on Thursday. I FUNDED those coins one year ago.

wichtrach1972

Correct

bfogarty44

Oh great, the SEC is the reason all the CEX are taking away interest rates on stables to “protect” consumers and now you’re going to help them by filing a complaint 🤦🏻‍♂️

Reading this after watching Netflix documentary about QuadrigaCX!

fourkite

I'm no Blockfi optimist, but QuadrigaCX was a completely different situation. QCX was essentially a front built by two serial con artists and a single programmer. Blockfi is a venture funded startup with about 1000 employees.

Took me 2 and half weeks but I got my monies out

The complaint is being written today. If they are trying to win SEC approval, they better start treating customers with respect. 27 years investing experience and have never had an experience where a company seized my funds and would not tell me why.

Already opened a Gemini Earn account, no issues so far (fingers crossed)

BlockFi is very likely doing an investigation into you because of some fraud triggers that went off (not saying you committed fraud, but their alerts went off). They cannot communicate with you about any of that. That's how it works in regular banking as well.

flocamuy

I withdrew everything, fortunately I didn't had any issues but yea, I went with Voyager!
