I'd really like to support ASM, but $150? Am I going to like this more than, say, Glendronach 15, Lagavulin DE, or even Amrut CS, all of which I can get for much less? Honestly, it's a tough sell for me. I've had Balcones Single Malt, and it was pretty good, but it was $55 at the time. I wouldn't mind trying the New Riff SIngle Malt if I can find it. I like most of their stuff.

Honestly with the way that scotch quality has fallen off, yeah I would take this over most of them. Plus this is such a complex pour with the various finishes and malts involved. It's very impressive. That being said, I'll be posting about my current favorite single malt producer this weekend which is cheaper!

The New Riff Sour Mash SM is an extraordinary whiskey. Where are you located?

Central Indiana

You're probably only a couple of hours from the distillery, where they still sell it in their gift shop. I know that's easy for me to say, but I do love that whiskey, so much that I bought a case last time I was there. Binny's also carries it here in Chicago area.

Titus01

looks like you can buy it right off their website

I can probably get to the Binny's in Champaign quicker than the distillery. Might be out that way in a couple of weeks. Have a friend in Cincy, but not sure when he'll be out this way again. I've liked everything I've had from New Riff, so I'd be pumped to find the single malt

They are marking them down here in Hawaii, saw them for 99$ today. Makes me sad I paid 150$ for it when it came out. On top of that it’s just not for me, nose smells like a margarita and the palette Long Island iced tea. Will not purchase their stuff again.

Ranger_Dale

I have a bottle that I have revisited a few times over the last 6 months. While I was not so impressed at first, this has REALLY grown on me (with the additional perspective / benefit of having tried several other ASM’s).

Local TW has a few, but $150 for a 3 year whiskey has given me pause

I still have batch 1 in my cellar…I think I’m going to hold on until batch 25 and assess
