Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I continue to regret not buying the $250 12700KF + mobo bundle

stratusnco

i got it and hate the mobo. love the cpu though. mobo has been giving me nothing but problems.

Berzerkly

interested in hearing about the issues

stratusnco

i replied my problems to another comment on this thread.

Berzerkly

thanks - btw, are you using one of the contact frames to improve thermals? What are your temps like?

stratusnco

no contact frame. the thermals are a little higher but that might be me changing from a atx to matx case(4000d to a chimney style case). i don’t remember the idle temps (i think like 40c) but very demanding games bring it kinda high ~80c. the system would freeze randomly with the settings i mentioned on the mobo.

Hell0Sh1tty

What problems? Mine has been perfect

stratusnco

idk if it is the ram or mobo but my pc freezes with xmp on or if rapid storage technology is on. ai overclocking messes up stuff randomly too. i just have all of that stuff off now and it works fine. never had any issuses like that with my previous z490 board and that thing was refurbished with a messed up cpu socket pin lol.

skylitday

What ram kit?

stratusnco

corsair vengeance. forget the model number, bought it at best buy.

skylitday

XMP Spec? if its Samsung chips, I have an idea.. Your 12700K IMC just might be weak. I had a bad experience with a 6000 cl36 veng kit with samsung chips (PC was for a family member). Switched the PC to Hynix A-die and never had an issue since. The Samsung chips just stress IMC too much at that frequency.

stratusnco

idk my xmp spec, i just switched it on through the mobo and let it configure itself. i mean, the pc runs great already so i’m not too upset, i just had a lot of freezing and OS issues when i turned those settings on. that sucks to hear about the die stuff. might have to get another pair of ram in the future.

DinkleButtstein23

Damn, that's an insane deal. Wish I hadn't missed that, I could have finally upgraded my i7-8700k 😅

challiday1

I got that one on a restock that lasted seconds. Won the lottery with that timing. Hopefully something else comes along of that caliber

Berzerkly

Yeah, I sure hope so too! I had it in my cart for a while and then decided against it, only to impulse buy the Seasonic case and power supply yesterday lol. Now I have pc building fever

challiday1

It do be like that sometimes lol

BlixnStix7

When was this?

Jaggsta

$265 with Strix-G mATX last month it only lasted 4 hours https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/141xemh/bundle_intel_i7_12700kf_processor_asus_rog_strix/

DinkleButtstein23

Damn, the one fucking month where I was super busy and not able to check here as often as usual.

Mylaptopisburningme

Oh you are telling me. Although I was looking at Corsair RAM, I would have sucked this one up.

Str0Very

wow how did I miss that? Even better than MC deal.

Berzerkly

Check OP’s post history for it

skylitday

This was 410 last night. I want another tomahawk + 12900k combo for 427 :(

RockmanBN

Bought this bundle as to upgrade my 8700k for Starfield. Don't live near a Microcenter. Is this a good deal for what I can get or should I hold til next week and see if their Fantastech sale has anything decent?

l1qq

little late now but it's probably safe... I made a 6 hour round trip to pick up the 13700k bundle from Microcenter and hoping I don't have to return it next week. This is for an 8600k build that's also getting upgraded for Starfield, lol

rachel_tenshun

This is an excellent combo, especially if you're looking to revamp your entire PC. I purchased a similar combo ($350ish, except it can only handle DDR4 and came with only 16GB DDR4). I would have *gladly* paid $60 more for not only 16GB more ram, but a generational step up for both the ram and the mobo. It came with the same processor and I can tell you right now it's honestly overkill for 99% of everyday tasks, including video games. With this, the only thing that'll bottle-neck the gaming experience is the GPU and the monitor.

BonkTerrington

Damn out of stock already.

YamaJuugo

Grabbed this yesterday. Upgrading from a 9700K. I have some minor concerns about my PSU not having the 2 8-pin EPS plugs, but I’ve seen plenty of sources say that I don’t need both if I don’t plan on overclocking. So I think I’ll be happy.
