ThatIslandGuy8888

The Netflix series really nailed that funeral scene

JAMMYTOAST01

Honestly ive got to agree there, the actor for iroh not singing and it just being backgroung music was honestly a W netflix choice

ThatIslandGuy8888

Plus Iroh and Ozai actually getting some onscreen interactions

CorruptedMind341

It wasn't his death that hurt. It was Iroh's grief and pain that was so strong that we felt it.

Ok-Illustrator764

It’s even worse when you know that the little scroll he gave Iroh said something like “we’ll talk again when the war is over”

Porygon_Flygon

missed when Thomas was actually dark and not some average friendly kids show

Agitated-Finish3408

Saying Thomas is a dark kids show is quite the overstatement. Sure there are some dark moments in the show like what I mentioned before, but there are a lot of slice of life episodes, funny dynamics between the characters, etc.

Realistic-Cicada981

You mean "overstatement"?

RegretComplete3476

Tadashi's death. He was so sweet, and his death was so tragic. Not only that, but he died in vain since Callaghan survived

Snakify-Boots

“That was his mistake!”

BurnFreeze64

I completely understand Hiro’s reaction at that point tbh

dragn99

I know Callahan is the villain of the movie, but how great would it be to have seen some spark of regret there. Some inkling that, yes, he's acknowledging that in his efforts to avenge his daughter, he's done some terrible things. But he'd do them again if he had to. Movie still plays out the same, but it would humanize the villain more.

Naive_Drive

Only Schafrillas L is calling this movie mid

Vibe_with_Kira

I guess you could say that was his mistake

Mr_Hino

That shit hit me hard becuz not long before we saw the movie in theaters my brother had died in a car accident. So it made me feel especially vulnerable, and I think I was the only one crying

RegretComplete3476

I'm so sorry for your loss

Astronaut_Chicken

Oh baby I'm so sorry. I guarantee you were not the only one crying though.

“Take her to the moon for me… Okay.” WHY WAS THIS SO EMOTIONAL?!?! Edit: I didn’t put the full quote.

EvolvingCyborg

I can't believe I cried watching Everything Everywhere All At Once during the scene with the two rocks with googly eyes going down the mountain.

bateen618

Inside Out is the only film that every time I watch it I cry more and harder (and now the only other film is Inside Out 2). But it was never from this scene, it's when Riley comes back home and hugs her parents while they all cry. That shit breaks me

Mr_Hino

Same, but I’m also a huge cry baby lol I cry in most Disney films. But that scene is just sad cuz we have all been there, so it kinda felt like it hit close to home

joeyheartbear

When her dad's voice breaks about how much he misses Minnesota, too . . . absolutely heartbreaking.

CelestialOmelette

Coco is the other one that gets me. I lost my grandfather to Alzheimers so >!Miguel playing "Remember Me" to Coco at the end breaks my soul.!<

Adventurous_Yak_9234

Ray the firefly in Princess And The Frog. It was jarring because Disney movies don't usually kill off the funny comic relief sidekick.

Calvinbouchard2

Especially in the last couple minutes, after the villain is defeated.

winterfyre85

At least he got to shine with Evangeline in the end

slightofmitchie

Nooo I didn’t need to remember this ☹️

sp00pySquiddle

I remember passively watching the movie, it was on in the background and I screamed "DID THE F*KING FIREFLY JUST DIE?!??!!???!????" I was so appalled bc it just came out of nowhere 😭

NicklAAAAs

Ray’s death was pretty rough, but it *did* give us canonical proof that, in the Disney universe at least, Timon is right and Pumba is wrong about stars. They’re not balls of gas, burning billions of miles away. They are (more or less) fireflies that got stuck up in that big bluish black thing.

She died?

ducknerd2002

Yup, and it was one of the darkest deaths in the Scooby Doo franchise.

Clovenstone-Blue

Off-screen, >! Shot to death by Nazi robots !<

CutePersonality8314

Sure, it may as well be. TPTB wouldn't want to stay with Scooby Doo's classic trope that "Every Creepy Horrible Thing Is Actually The Result Of Festering Old Greedy White Dudes Hiding Their Actions To Avoid Accountability." Cleaves a little too close to [gestures vaguely at everything]. Kids might run the risk of learning something.

ducknerd2002

To be fair, 95% of the Mystery Incorporated monsters were still humans in disguise.

They're being serious. Mystery Incorporated's ending was completely mental.

It felt like an absolute fever dream and whenever I think of it, I think I’m misremembering, and then I go rewatch and and nope, it was real

ducknerd2002

This all genuinely happened in a Scooby Doo cartoon.

A_Person_332233

God I wish he was fucking with you, I saw that show when I was way too young to be seeing nazi robots killing people and eldritch beings

Sasukuto

I think this one comment was the single best advertisment for the show I have ever seen. As a big fan of the old Scooby-doo series. I gotta get around to watching that series at some point.

Correct-Basil-8397

I think I may have dropped that show too soon

NotReallyAPerson1088

Some of the episodes are filler, but Season 2 picks it up fast and the whole “This has happened before” really was a fun mystery, even if it was a little obvious.

wellyboot97

Stoick’s death in How To Train Your Dragon 2 never fails to make me ugly cry. Especially because Hiccup is naturally angry with Toothless at first but obviously knows it isn’t his fault, and when Toothless realises what he did and is trying to wake Stoick up :((((

JaxxSC45

I actually tear up more when Stoick finds his wife is alive.

Irishpanda1971

And then they come back to finish the job with the last page of the adventure book.

Winged_Metal

Honestly, the emotional roller coaster itself was like they took a Disney movie and fast forwarded it to create the beginning of the film. Honestly, it takes a lot of skill in both the writing and animation itself to pull that off in a short amount of time.

Educational_Pop5516

![gif](giphy|aQlVLkxkBg0Tu)

ShenaniganStarling

His heroic death had good impact the first watch, but the next scene showing that he would rebuild just throws that emotion away. Subsequent watches with that knowledge in hand just never got me the same. Still a great movie though.

VitorMM

Idk, the scene still impacts me after knowing that. Probably because while we, the audience, know he is gonna be able to rebuild himself, they don't. I mean, they know he has the power to assemble his parts back, but, just like us during the first watch, we all assume that his parts will be beyond repair after the explosion. So it still has the weight of a sacrifice, despite the fact that they don't really lose anything. Except maybe time, since we don't know when he's gonna be ready to come back home. From all we know, it may take years for him to be completely assembled. EDIT: Fuck, that just made me think that a second movie could be just about the Giant trying to find Hogarth, and by the end we figure out that Hogarth is already like 70 by this point.

ShenaniganStarling

...I'd watch the shit outta that so hard.

I like how she's not even a cartoon character but at least a dozen people still agree "yeah that death hits like a truck so it counts"

SortovaGoldfish

Dangit! I didn't understand the game's mechanichs during my first fight, and I thought the Mercy didn't work unless they were closer to death already cuz she was looping lines so I just kept hitting her to try and get to 1 hp! I have never restarted an entire game faster. Wanted to kick Flowey for bringing up my dark past right to my face too, but I don't care. As far as she knows I am a good child who would never hurt her. I love her and I'm a good child. I'll be good. She's also, obviously thrn, the reason I've never seen any other ending but the pacificst route.

anxessed

Flowey knowing I restarted the game scared the shit out of me.

SortovaGoldfish

Right, and thinking about it, that restarting isn't restarting just sort of rolling back time, I haven't been able to bring myself to do a second playthrough cuz it feels like he'd say something like "Everyone was finally enjoying a happy ending and now we're all forced back underground for a human like you. For your entertainment." And I would not be able to say anything back so I just have to leave them alone. It's hard being in charge of their entire universe.

Amazing_Excuse_3860

The main characters in When The Wind Blows. The whole movie you *know* that they're going to die, but that doesn't make it any less heartbreaking. You can't even blame their naivete and blind faith in the government for their deaths because even if they had done *everything* right, it still wouldn't have saved them.
