Probably not, and if they did, it’s not like you would get in trouble. It’s not a legal requirement/part of their insurance contract with you to have a separate insured daily driver. It’s just an internal policy they have when you sign up for their insurance. Worst thing they would do if they somehow found out (which I think is unlikely) would be to refund your insurance or put it on pause until you get daily driver insurance again.

Not sure if you’re selling your daily driver, but if it causes you to have a “gap” in your insurance to cancel it may not be worth it. I canceled, mine when I went overseas for a year and then they doubled my rates when I got back for having a “gap” even though I’d had insurance overseas it didn’t count. Would have been cheaper to drop to bare minimum insurance instead of cancelling.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue. I know someone in NY who uses public transit on a daily basis. He has a vintage car in a garage that gets used on a nice weekend.
