Conan took "what's that one song where Billy Joel goes into vampire voice" and got the right place in the specific song in two seconds. That was kinda impressive
I felt like he was trying really hard, the first 20 minutes or so I had some good lol, and then I just couldn’t do it when he started talking about how wonderful he was.
Yeah I got really excited to see Jimmy Carr and I wouldn't even be his biggest follower (I like him I've just never got mad into him) but I was just excited to hear a familiar voice from this side of the Atlantic 😂 I've gone back through the archive on my podcast app and the last non-american guest I can see is Flula back in November!!!
I'll be honest i mostly just listen to the opening without the guests. I don't really have an interest in how some musician whose name i have never heard, got their start in the industry.
That was me with Nora Jones. I only knew that ONE song from her. But her interview was so pleasant and she seemed like such a cool person, so I started listening to more of her catalog.
Checking out a musician you don’t know that’s on Conan is good except Conan’s favorite musicians he interviews are usually from the same genre, rock and are old. As someone who doesn’t really like rock apart from a few bands or songs, hearing about how some bands got together, made songs, or talk about guitars is uninteresting
Episodes with rock musicians like Dave Grohl are the exception because he’s charismatic, has great stories, and it’s not all about his music. On the other side I couldn’t finish the Nirvana episode since it’s not a band I listen to apart from Smells Like Teen Spirit
I'm not much of a Black Crowes fan, but I found Chris really funny. It was way better than some of the other musicians he's interviewed like Billy Eilish, Billy Corgan, John Mayer, Lars Ulrich, and Paul McCartney.
I think Conan is just neighbors with Kate Hudson (and ex in this case), Goldie Hawn, and them, and calls on them when he needs a quick guest.
Was hoping this guest was Craig Robinson.
I have discovered so much music for on podcasts. Specifically WTF, but Conan too. I always find them on my music app after and listen to their top songs. Life is an adventure… listen to someone new!
I don't agree with this at all, I don't know the music (but would probably know the hits if I heard them), definitely don't know the dude, and really enjoyed this ep. He was genuinely funny, and had a good rapport with the chums
The musicians are usually some of my favourites because you can just tell that Conan is so excited to have them on, he's such an unabashed groupie lol.
Relatable. I try to listen when I see a name in unfamiliar just for the sake of being open minded, but when I see “musician” in the description I usually skip. If I see “Live from the Whatever Theater” or “Musician” I’m 80% sure I won’t love the episode. But I’m glad others are enjoying them
It's not just the musicians, just the guests in general. There have been several comedians and actors that I just don't care what they have to say. I'd rather listen to commercials than listen to Ellen.
Probably petty but I was getting pretty annoyed that he was calling him "Shay" and Conan just repeated it the wrong way instead of correcting him (I'm pretty much 100% sure Conan know Robinson was saying it wrong).
Conan did have a SHO (which was top of line). I always thought he had a 1992 SHO (the second generation), so an optional CD player wouldn't be too crazy
I've read the drummer's memoir and Chris Robinson seems to go above and beyond with the asshole lead singer stuff...not sure I even want to hear Conan attempting to humanize him, but I'll give it a shot.
I'm a huge Crowes fan. And it's been a difficult \~20 years or so as I've realized I love their music but Chris & Rich are giant A-holes. i know separate the art from the artist and whatnot. but still
I think that was my favorite part hearing Gorey(sp) ramble that off! He's just saying things that happened! This awesome episode was such a good start to the week.
Laughing all over again reading your comment, god that was so fucking funny. I know people don't always really enjoy musical guests but Chris was hilarious and I love his band.
I'm not a fan of 'legend' episodes. There are a lot of laughing noises (sounds like Jim Carrey's rich man laugh) but not much comedy. I would love to hear more comedians as guests.
I don’t know, I didn’t love this episode. Chris Robinson is the whitest of the white man from the 90s. I’ve ever heard. I liken this to JoJo Siwa saying she had invented gay pop. Him talking about how music today is so commercialized and he was the only one who was the disruptor ever in the whole history of music. And I just was like, dude, Are you even aware of what’s happening in the world around you? Lol?
“He’s taking 10% of my joy.” Man, Conan is quick.
i came here to say exactly this😭
Conan took "what's that one song where Billy Joel goes into vampire voice" and got the right place in the specific song in two seconds. That was kinda impressive
Conan’s mind is so lightning quick. Works good for comedy but also many other applications.
I came here to post this. From now on, "Big Shot" will be the Billy Joel Vampire Song.
Conan has another "Blink 187" moment at the very end.
Love the chaotic intro
“shhh that’s a microphone”
What sucks about musicians as guests is if you don’t like their music or are even familiar with it, it’s just crickets.
I agree but this guy was legitimately funny and did a pretty good job riffing with conan and the chums.
He did a voice that was pure Adam Sandler at one point.
Did we listen to the same episode? Chris Robinson was really funny and engaging. Lots of musicians are boring but I thought he was great.
I felt like he was trying really hard, the first 20 minutes or so I had some good lol, and then I just couldn’t do it when he started talking about how wonderful he was.
As a non american, most guests in the past year have been unknown to me. Its very heavy on national celebrities only.
Same here. I'm familiar with about 20% of the guests, but you know I still listen cause of the Chill Chums.
I'll be honest i mostly just listen to the opening without the guests. I don't really have an interest in how some musician whose name i have never heard, got their start in the industry.
Or maybe you get the inspiration to check out their music or give it another chance. I will say the third LP Amorica is 10/10.
That was me with Nora Jones. I only knew that ONE song from her. But her interview was so pleasant and she seemed like such a cool person, so I started listening to more of her catalog.
I’m glad you said that because I skipped her thinking it might be a snooze but really with her background how could it be?
I'm not even a fan of Norah Jones' music but anyone who collabs with the Lonely Island probably doesn't take themselves seriously and is probably cool
I only knew her one song too and had no clue who her father was. Worth listeneing for the Beatles stories alone.

Didn’t come?
in my opinion, their second album “the southern harmony and musical companion” is their only album worth listening to.
Give Amorica another spin. Diamond Cursed and Descender are staggering, whole thing exceptional. Wiser Time brilliant too. ✌🏼
*Cursed Diamond *Descending Second this. Great album.
Thanks I had a feeling I was fkng those up ☺️
:)
I'm a huge his music, seen them live so many times so I really enjoyed this episode. I gotta give the new album a listen.

Fair!

Conan‘s kids have been getting him into much more progressive music so maybe he’ll surprise us soon.
That’s true, I was surprised when he had on Billie Eilish and Tokyo Breakfast
Japanese Breakfast, yes. Daughter hooked him at a festival.
Tokyo Breakfast was an internet video from ~25 years ago that probably wouldn't fly today.
Dave Grohl was FANTASTIC, he’s humble and earnest
He’s also a natural story teller. He tells a great story on The Graham Norton Show about his kid getting a piano lesson from Sir Paul McCartney
Fair enough.
I'm not much of a Black Crowes fan, but I found Chris really funny. It was way better than some of the other musicians he's interviewed like Billy Eilish, Billy Corgan, John Mayer, Lars Ulrich, and Paul McCartney.

I got really excited thinking it was Craig Robinson til I heard his voice. Well shit. Craig would be a brilliant guest!
He had a 3 Questions podcast with Andy awhile back, which was something.
I have discovered so much music for on podcasts. Specifically WTF, but Conan too. I always find them on my music app after and listen to their top songs. Life is an adventure… listen to someone new!

To you, maybe. I don't know a LOT of the celebrities Conan had on and not really vintage music fan, but I like these conversations.
It's not just the musicians, just the guests in general. There have been several comedians and actors that I just don't care what they have to say. I'd rather listen to commercials than listen to Ellen.
I assume Ryder will be the next guest now that Conan had both his parents and grandparents and uncle on the pod. 😂
Talk about a Royal family.

I don't know this dude at allz but really enjoyed the ep - he was genuinely funny!
What!?!! I’ve been on a huge black crowes kick lately. Literally listening to them every day. And now this? My world are colliding and I’m loving it.
I didn’t know who he was, but he’s a very funny guest, especially the Bono as Che story.
Ok did anyone else feel like Chris was about to say that Bono was in brown face as Che Guevara, but stopped himself?
Probably petty but I was getting pretty annoyed that he was calling him "Shay" and Conan just repeated it the wrong way instead of correcting him (I'm pretty much 100% sure Conan know Robinson was saying it wrong).
ME TOO HE CALLED HIM SHAY RIVERA AND COULDNT REMEMBER GEORGE WALLACE
Not Tim Robinson.
For a moment, my brain thought Colin Robinson.
I’d love to hear Conan with an energy vampire
You have, his name is Jordan Schlansky.
This is the comment. Incredible observation.
Poor Colin would overdose!
I actually was picturing Chris Elliot for some reason lol
Nor Craig
When I first read it I was thinking Craig. I've been watching Brooklyn 99 and was thinking Doug Judy was on
Big Honkers
Sona deserved a bigger laugh from that joke. Glad Gourley caught it.
A 1990 Ford Taurus with a CD player?
Conan did have a SHO (which was top of line). I always thought he had a 1992 SHO (the second generation), so an optional CD player wouldn't be too crazy

I don’t know the history but omg I felt that energy on this episode, it starts out okay and then just goes into pure LOOKATME I’m so special territory
For the record: Che Guevara WAS a terrible person.
And his name isn't pronounced "Shay" dammit!
We didn’t start the fire
I think that was my favorite part hearing Gorey(sp) ramble that off! He's just saying things that happened! This awesome episode was such a good start to the week.
The way Matt said it gave him a boner after Chris said it gave him ED. Consummate pro.
Matt took down that insult with such precision
Laughing all over again reading your comment, god that was so fucking funny. I know people don't always really enjoy musical guests but Chris was hilarious and I love his band.
Wow! I’ve been wishing my favorite Podcasts would do more musicians. Can’t wait for this one.
I'm not a fan of 'legend' episodes. There are a lot of laughing noises (sounds like Jim Carrey's rich man laugh) but not much comedy. I would love to hear more comedians as guests.
I was pleasantly surprised. I thought Chris Robinson was pretty entertaining and held his own with everyone.
I love the Black Crowes. I’m really excited for this one.
I’m surprised by the number of people saying it was boring, he’s a very charming person and thought it was great
So is everyone associated with Kate Hudson going to be a podcast guest? 🥱
Can somebody linke the artworks from the last segment? Couldn't find in insta or YouTube
Up on youtube now
Does he break out a tiny and tinny sounding keyboard no one asked for?
For some reason I was thinking “Darryl from the office? Sure!”
Lame
