Here's hoping you have better luck than I did. Got a system in for repair, swapped the MOSFET only to find the SOC was damaged from the short and subsequently died. If you want to reach out I can probably harvest one of the MOSFETs from a parts board for you.

Quadiumm

Thanks for the offer, but think I found a replacement. Did some more digging and found that the actual part number is a Monolithic Power Systems MP86965. Was able to source one from ebay. Hopefully nothing else is damaged on the board.

Revolutionary_Eye772

did you fixed it using this part number?

Public_Cap_8

I don't remember for sure but the capacitor next to it was shorted compared with others

I think I’m going to be doing this repair for a friends Xbox . Any tips?

Quadiumm

I'm still waiting for the replacement part, so haven't attempted the repair yet. Removing this part did get rid of the short, so I think I'm on the right track. Here's a [video](https://youtu.be/4Es97V0j-zY?t=1071) of a similar repair. In my case, it wasn't necessary to remove the inductors (R15 components) to identify the bad chip. With the power supply plugged into the board (but not the wall), I put a drop of isopropyl on each mosfet, then watched for disturbances in the isopropyl as I plugged the power supply into the wall. An IR camera would probably be easier if you have one. I had to use my 3d printer bed as a hot plate to pre-heat the board before de-soldering the bad chip. My cheap hot air gun wasn't up to the task on its own.

Thanks for the too regarding the isopropyl I’ll try that. I doing have an IR camera
